McCain has been courting Hagee for months, and now that he’s the nominee, Hagee finally gave him his blessing. I don’t doubt for a second that if Huckabee were the front-runner, Hagee would’ve done the same for him.

Yeah the rapture people are scary, IMO. Was having dinner with some people, and a pleasant conversation with the guy next to me about his grandkids; then the conversation turned to the state of the world, and he neatly segued into his rapture spiel – that it was written that Armageddon was coming and there was going to be widespread death and doom etc. And he was happy about it. A guy who had just been showing photos of infant grandkids. Totally creepy.

Israel has by far the best military in the region, certainly in quality and probably numbers as well. They have access to US-level satellite and surveillance assetts, laser-guided, & JDAM weapons, state-of-the-art armor and artillery, and one of the best Air Forces in the world…all backed up by nuclear weapons.
Nobody in the Middle East is going to just roll over Israel.

It has been my longstanding belief that anyone who believes in the rapture myth should not, I repeat – NOT – be allowed anywhere within miles of the keys or codes to nuclear weapons. I believed that from about 1962, the time of th Cuban missle crisis, after listening to some fungelical friends being happy about the crisis. I was a sophomore in HS.

Then Strangelove came out. Then – 25 years later – the fungelicals started taking over the USAF. Their control of so many nuclear weapons bothers me far more than the threat of random nuclear terrorism or small-state nuclear proliferation.
