Yesterday I asked for your help in standing up to the phony issue group that is running over $2 million in television ads attacking at least 15 freshman Democratic members of Congress, and your support has been overwhelming.
In the last 24 hours, the Progressive Patriots community has contributed over $15,000 that will go directly to those House members being unjustly attacked for not immediately passing a flawed surveillance bill that would weaken our privacy protections and provide retroactive immunity to telecom companies.
Let’s double our efforts and raise $30,000 to support our friends.
I’m proud that we’ve shown that we won’t stand idly by as our friends are subjected to these despicable fear-mongering tactics. Your strong response has moved me to call for an extra push to double our contributions to those members facing these misleading attacks. . .

Personally I think it will take a lot more than 30,000 to undo the damage, but it’s a start.

Why don’t the Democrats insist on an extension of the current law until there is a new, impartial administration to determine the necessity of telecom lawsuits?

Or, they could just impeach Bush/Cheney and stop the pain now.

And Hillary’s deniability is implausible.

She may dye her hair, but the roots show. In politics her Goldwater Girl roots always show through and it’s very disconcerting and discomforting for Dems.

She may be better than McCain, but that doesn’t mean she’s the right person for the job. Sadly, I can’t say Obama is better on either political positions or personal qualities.

So much talent in the Dem field and we were pushed through name recognition, campaign funding and MSM talk to the most Conservative Dems — and they’re not so hot.
