It has nothing to do with restaurant servers.</p> <p>In this case Vails father had pout up the money for their experiments with electrical communication through wires and was, his son thought, growing impatient. In fact, while working on the invention Vail avoided his father for several weeks to avoid the psychic pressure. I know I saw it in the early 70s.
