He’s not basing his appeal on core Democratic policies or values, but instead vague ideas of “hope,” “change” and now “common sense.” If people aren’t drawn to the Democratic party–rather that just Obama–there’s no reason to believe his November victory would usher in a wave of change.</p> He’ll be able to do that if he runs as an unabashed Democrat. The Clinton camp has denied any involvement in releasing a benign photo (one that had even been published in a tabloid years ago) and there’s no evidence at all that they did–unless one counts reflexive Clinton bashing as “proof.” My God, her own camp said there’s nothing wrong with a politician doing what Obama did by citing Hillary Clinton’s travels as First Lady and saying there’s tons of photos of her in various attire (including–gasp!–wearing a hijab). There’s nothing there and yet you are claiming outrage.</p> Stop spreading lies. Barack Obama isn’t a saint. He’s not a savior. But in substance as well as style, he’s the most impressive presidential candidate to come along in quite a while.
