First, how much more would someone pay for the health care needed to stay alive or healthy? It’s a crazy question because health care is so fundamental.

Second, Democrats want people to have the health care they need, so there’s no way they’d want to raise prices beyond people’s ability to pay.

Third, people are having trouble buying health care at today’s prices, so Democrats are trying to find a way to fix that problem. It’s Republicans who are trying to prevent us from finding some kind of solution.

Voters do you want health care? Vote Democratic!

Go get ‘em Andrew!

After the 04 elections I knew some progressives who sank into deep depression.

Tester’s election gave them hope.

IMHO if the combined might of a Harvard theologian and a legendary agricultural pioneer doesn’t sway people to vote for Rice it’s their loss.

PS Rice needs to distance himself from H. Clinton and that sadly that may mean distancing himself from General Wesley Clark.

I don’t agree with Webb on everything either Howie but I love the way Republicans are afraid of him.

And speaking of the D-Day Revolution of 2006 Mr. Rice if you can get Senator Jon Tester to stump for you in OK it would be highly effective.

As stories on this thread attest, the problem isn’t simply the uninsured, although that’s a moral failing of our current system. The problem most voters understand, though, is that no one’s health insurance works when you need it (unless you are a Congresscritter). My fiance just started a new job and was told by his manager that the only health plan on offer denies ALL claims, as standard practice. Every single claim requires an appeal fight in order to get it covered — even pre-screened emergency room visits and in-plan doctor visits. Most providers require the patient to pay up during the appeal process, of course. So employees are out-of-pocket during the appeal, since they have to pay the provider. These drag on for months and are often denied as well.

He’s sticking with his COBRA coverage, at much greater expense, from the previous job needless to say. There’s no point in enrolling in a plan where breathing seems to be a pre-existing condition.

We need an overhaul, top to bottom, of this criminal racket masquerading as American health care.
