Hey everybody, Fini Finito here, Donita's Digital Roadie. Donita caught a flight to Brazil yesterday and so I am filling in for her today while she does a couple of shows there tonight and tomorrow night. I've got the second part of her podcast with her Goddess of Thunder Lady Dee Plakas wherein they play for us four more tracks off Transmiticate. If you missed the first part last week you can listen to it here.
I'll be in comments to hang out for a while and don't forget to visit Donita's new website where you can purchase your own copy of Transmiticate, and if you want you can even get a copy of the disc signed by Donita from there! Also, for folks in Southern California, don't forget her record release party is next Friday at Safari Sam's in Hollywood on Leap Day, February 29th! The show will also stream live on the Internet from the Safari Sam's website and Donita's website too.

hey guys :)
Boo yah! Part 2!
indeed :D
Barack’s got the honey!!! :D
Hello there. Is Donita and Dee going to be around for questions?
Donita! I got my signed copy yesterday! Great CD and thanks for the autograph I will keep it in my collection. Here’s hoping it goes big nationally.
I have been listening to my freshly opened copy all day, thanks to The Man, Mr. RBG who sprung for the autographed version for my Birthday.
I’m liking it a lot. Been listening to Curtains for Cathy over and over.
anyone know how to ‘refresh comments’ here without interrupting the podcast?
The new CD is spectacular. I’m very grateful for CASH for re-introducing me to Donita — and the stylistic changeups on the album are just awesome. Definitely a ‘now’ record!
Figures Donita isn’t here today, I have a question about that contract thing, guess I’ll just send it off and if there is a problem they can get a hold of me.
Open a second instance of your browser and view comments from there.
Hey hi howdy Firepups and friends! Donita, Dee and the boy are playing a couple of gigs tonight and tomorrow night in Brazil so I am flying solo in comments this week, but if you got questions float ‘em out here and I will do my best to answer them.
I hit the “Stand alone” player, that seems to work
This song will always be close to my heart (”Fly Feather Fly”) given that I spent so much time with the stems…
howdy Fini Finito! after last week’s podcast, i’ve been especially looking forward to this one.
When there’s a new comment a message at the bottom of the last comment will appear that says “(insert number here) new comments” and where it says “click here to load them” click it
fini! “Donita’s Digital Roadie” heh
wazzzup

@Dwendt and others: thanks :)
Fini!
Hope this finds you in good health.
There is a link below the podcast player to launch a standalone version of the player so you can enjoy it uninterrupted. Also, right above the comment box is a link to refresh comments without having to refresh your whole browser page.
Got my copy in the mail, this morning.
Thanks Donita
you got the mojo
and all the good juju
going on.
Music is the best-fz +1
nahant-all of the above
Welcome back! Always good to see you here, thanks for the return trip.
Hiya, Fini!
Was that Dee playing the snare in the vid for “Infancy?”
Them is my first question of teh day.
Thanks!
oh, i think you’ve got me hooked now!
Hey dude! You dig that? It makes the most sense as a descriptor of what I do I suppose. Syballants…syballants…keyboard check 1, 2…syballants
:D
Best played at 11.
My family is from Brasil. Where is she playing?
I got my copy yesterday in the mail, it sounds excellent. I love it. My favourite song that I hadn’t heard before was Creampuff, Dees drums sound amazing.
Thanks for asking, I am feeling the best I have felt in many years to be honest with you. Once they got the meds all straightened out and the blood flow returned it fixed me up pretty good.
Favorites here: Dare Dare, My Skin’s Too Thin, He’s Got The Honey, Infancy of a Disaster and TAKE A FEW STEPS…and course NEED TO NUMB :D
LoL
Yes indeed it was Dee on the snare in the video!
I Dig the Digital Donita! :D
heh, i was doing a mic check w/my im client this morning too, lol.
Yay for your good health! And you really appreciate it.
You wouldn’t happen to know the tourdates for the supporting tour do you?
Shes playing tonight at Hocus Pocus in Sao Jose dos Campos and tomorrow night at the Clash Club in Sao Paolo.
wonderful news!
Hi fini
I love the podcast!
Hi to Donita and Lady Dee!
*waving to Young Jess*
They are still working out those dates but Donita will have an announcement on her site and MySpace page soon. We will be sure to let everyone here know too when the news is ready to be broke.
That is good to hear!
Fini, is the date set for Boston, it IS in early June as TT The Bears has announced?
I would like to get on the ticket train ASAP.
*waving back*
I am on the Myspace list and I am subscribed to her blog so I won’t miss it when they announce it, I was just hoping for some info ahead of that…hehe
Hey Jess! BTW I have not forgotten to email you yet, I have just been super busy and will get with you soon to help us out like we discussed a couple weeks ago!
Stellar moment
turned amp on
pick up strat
playing along
I have a number eleben on my Mesa Boogie-thanks Spinal Tap
more nasty noise-woot!
finifito-we haven’t met ozone style-but all the best
Right on!
Not too many get the turn it up to eleven reference anymore.
Ok Fini! I’ll be sure to check my e-mail very often this weekend
Digg It!
I have experience at being a roadie and I was curious as if they had all the roadies they need for the upcoming tour…..I haven’t toured in 9 years, but some things never change….like the weight of tour cases……..lol
I love the “wah-wah-wa-wa-wa” vocalized instrumentation on “Take a Few Steps.”
Really enjoying the CD a lot!
I don’t know just yet, I think she did nail down some East Coast dates recently so it could be.
Mine arrived on Tuesday. Unfortunately it was the only good thing that happened to me in this otherwise sucky week. So if you actually read this in the next days, thank you Donita for this bright spot. I needed it.
Now that I know the album, my favorite song is “Creampuff”. Not at all L7-like, but simply beautiful.
dugg!
Well more people should be initiated into the Spinal Tap phenomenon!
People don’t get the 11 reference these days???? weird…
I’m pretty sure they’re gonna be relying on local crew help everywhere, they travel kind light these days!
I used that in a meeting with some grad students and post-docs, and they looked at me like I was insane.
Can’t wait for my CD to finally come in the mail. I hope it comes soon….. Maybe the people at Canada Post decided to take a listen, and they liked it so much that they decided to keep it….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhVWJgIzftE
They’re the insane ones HA! ;> Just so weird considering that Guest’s popularity is more than ever now, would have thought people would have ran to see ‘the original’ :>
I literally inscribe it on the volume knob-it works 707
Quite possible :> It is one of the most surprising ‘comebacks’ I’ve ever heard….
Hi, Fini! How are you?
Hi, Young Jess! What’s up?
Donita is playing in the southeast of the Brazil and I live in the northeast… I’m very sad for not having gone to the show, but next time that she comes to Brazil, I’ll go, because I’ll work on this year and I’ll have enough savings for the trip. But now, my proofs begin on this weekend and it’s going until November, because I’m trying to enter in the university and I’m studying a lot! I hope I get! =D
Ok cool, they know me, if you can, tell Donita and Dee that D’Wendt from Cobalt Fur will be available for the shows around me, they know me. I am based in Milwaukee, but I will head up to Minneapolis, Madison, Green Bay and down to Chicago to help them out…provided they will have dates in any of those cities.
I love, love, love the beat of the song and Donita’s voice on Fly Feather Fly! It’s so alternative punk to me. Probably not the right description…almost like a cross between Joan Jett and Blonde. ;-)
It’s just not “insider” anymore. Spinal Tap introduced more memes though.
One of “Nigel’s” guitars. How much more pickups can you have?
http://www.wolfgangguitars.com.....20full.jpg
Joan Jett!!! Transmiticate is very reminiscent of her i think ‘need to numb’ esp and even Suzi Quatro…just straight up awesome R&R
I will pass that along to Donita when she gets back from Brazil. BTW I got family in Milwaukee, you a cheesehead too? Goal Pack Goal!
Just listening to some Queen Adreena, and reading all the comments on here, how about you?
Hehe, I am done listening to the podcast, but I am listening to my copy of Transmiticate now….I am really happy about the way this CD sounds overall……really great stuff, but I wouldn’t expect anything else from Ms. Sparks!
Here’s the link to Transmiticate Listening Party Part One for those who want to listen to more.

Done here too. :)
Really? That’s cool.
You can’t beat Milwaukee for the great fests, maybe Donita will play Summerfest?
Im really looking forward to the release party at Safari sam’s next week. The live streaming video of the show is gonna be way cool. Maybe we can have a late night gathering here next Friday to watch it together!
Creampuff!!
Fly Feather Fly!!
Yeah baby.
That sounds awesome!
I love Summerfest, that is one of the coolest festivals in the Midwest. I will mention to her she may want her booking agent to explore that for her, they would have a blast playing that. She ought to know about it, she and Dee did grow up in Chicago. I may even try and travel up this summer if she does play it, I’m not too damn far down here in Indianapolis.
Oh, and of course I am a cheesehead! LoL
I’m listening Siam Shade and seeking my books to study… On this Sunday I’ll have my first test of the year. In November, when it has the last proof, I hope to enter in the university! Yesss! o/
Yes, I sing a Zeppelin song with my buddies who play cover songs at Summerfest every year for the last 3 years, my band is too..L7(original)…to play there, but I am sure Donita would have no problem getting a gig there.
My cousin lost 2 sons driving home from summer fest about 3 years back, still gives me chills.
Well Indy has a couple of great places for original acts to play at the clubs Birdy’s and radio, radio. If you ever want to play down here I could arrange it for you guys to do a gig either place.
i’m just doing a second listen to today’s podcast.
thanks fini finito and the Ds for the improved spirits.
have a great weekend all.
Anyone interested in hearing some music that some of it has been influenced by our gal Donita….www.myspace.com/cobaltfur…..I am also a friend of Kelley Deal who once had me onstage playing her Stratocaster on the song “Ace of Spades” by Motorhead. I would really be honored by any fellow Breeders and Donita Sparks fans to be our friends too………..
A fellow Motorhead fan here, Killed By Death, baby.
Hey, that is not that far really at all. Check out some of our stuff at the www.myspace.com/cobaltfur site, let me know if we could get away with music like that there.
Wow! That’s awesome you’re friends with her! I love The Breeders
Awesome. I just added you as a friend under my real name Joh Padgett. Nice to meet ya!
That’s because it’s omnivorously ubiquitous, baby! Even The Nuge (bless his cracked little skull) had some amps made by Sunn with knobs that went to 11.
Of course, mine go to 13
;>)
Oh yeah, and if you like Motorhead, you may have seen Zeke open up for them a while back…they are really really good!
fini, I missed it, what’s the story on the Donita’s red poster? -if you know
very fond of rock and roll art
Actually, Birdy’s would be a better fit for you, or actually when The Attic reopens in Plainfield which is one of our suburbs. The Attic is an all ages club and has bands like yours all the time. you can check out their MySpace page here.
LOL!
Kept forgetting to ask her to be honest with you, but I know an artist friend of hers from LA did that. I really dig it too, makes it look like an old 19th century Wanted or circus poster.
It is indeed, I am blessed with the fact that one of my CDs had Kelley Deal and L7 telling me that they liked my music, two of my all-time heroes said they genuinely approved of what I do musically…it’s all I ever had hoped to attain musically, all that’s left is Jimmy Page to say he likes my music, and I can die……lol
So sorry…
I’m liking Creampuff.
Thanks for the info dude, that’s cool!
Creampuff is on now…..I really ,really like what they did with Dee’s drums, they have never sounded so crisp and clear, like you were sitting next to her listening……
Aloha, fini and Donita! I see the party started without me…! ;-)
Mahalo, Fire Pups for the kind remarks downstairs… *g*
Wazzup! Better late than never dude!
One time, when L7 played SXSW, I was sitting there watching soundcheck(btw, they did an awesome version of “I will walk 500 miles” I will never forget) and there was this very nice lady sitting right next to me asking me about how I knew L7 and where I was from while she was eating world-famous Texas BBQ wings…and I went on and on about how I met Jennifer Finch and then met all of L7…blah blah blah…I later learned it was Exene….Boy did I feel stupid….LoL
Especially since I had an old “X” album…..
Has anyone else ever met L7 in person and was absolutely impressed at how unusually nice they were?
U have mail
Myspace.
Good , I hope, :)
I only saw L7 once at the Troc in Philly. Great show. I was more into the underground dj scene.
Motorhead fan, eh? I knew you were special.
;>)
The Troc, I have heard of this place, a lot of big acts have played there, even before they were famous
This “Into the Hi-Fi” is really freakin’ cool
Metal Head since Black Sabbath album #1.
Yeah great venue. They always had/have, haven’t been in philly for awhile, a great indy line up.
Metal Head since “Heaven and Hell” ( I may be a little younger, hehe)
I am also a big fan of the “not-so-famous” NWOBHM bands, they are the equivalent to Roger Corman films or Spinal Tap……
