It’s do-or-die time for Hillary Clinton at the Austin debate tonight. The polls are not her friend (per Kos):
Texas 2/16-20 (no trend lines). 603 likely voters. Moe 4%.
Obama 47%
Clinton 48%Ohio 2/16-20 (no trend lines). 611 likely voters. MoE 4%.
Obama 43%
Clinton 50%And a couple more from Texas.
Rasmussen. 2/20 (2/14). 549 likely voters. MoE 4%.
Obama 44% (38)
Clinton 47% (54)Constituent Dynamics. 2/17-19 (no trend lines). 1340 registered voters. MoE 4%.
Obama 45%
Clinton 46%
A Gallup tracking poll actually shows a national uptick for Clinton, which may mean that Obama’s momentum is slowing down. If so I’m guessing it’s the result of the press finally deciding it’s time to go after him rather than the result of anything the Clinton campaign has done.
Meanwhile, the Change to Win labor federation announced it would endorse Obama today. It’s hard to say if it will have any effect on the upcoming primaries, but it sends a nice message to future presidential hopefuls: hire union busters like Mark Penn at your own peril.

Go Hillary!
Jane!
That’s it after Texas, right?
No way to make up the delegates, right?
Well, kinda slow, Jane. Everyone is stocking up on food and drinks for the festivities maybe. I’m perfectly happy with Obama, for the record.
I got my chips, beer, and spew guard.
Let the games begin!!
this stuff with half and half on fish is teh good…just sayin
http://www.colmansmustardshop.com/
What’s the recipe for spew guard?
Hiya Jane:
Incoming re: Charlie Cobb–intro ready at admin…(apologies, Mods…)
and white pepper is my new fave
Is CNN airing the debate…?
Sounds good.
easy 10 minutes all white sauce
“What’s the recipe for spew guard?”
I think it looks like one of those horizontal plastic things you put around an infant’s neck when you’re spoon-feeding him.
Bob in HI
Spagehtti squash with mushroom artichoke marinara
That sounds killer!!!
Colmans is the preferred brand here… But, Wasabi is the hands-down winner for kick here in the Isles…!
Another day- another debate–we’re about to approach the nausea point with debates.
oh my use half and half
250g (12oz) green tagliatelle
1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
2 tbsp oil
2 thick slices ham, trimmed and cut in strips
175g (6oz) button mushrooms, wiped and sliced
1 tbsp Colman’s Wholegrain Mustard
150ml (1/2 pint) double cream
Salt and freshly ground white pepper
25g (1oz) fresh Parmesan, in shavings
Preparation
Cook pasta in lightly salted boiling water until just tender. Drain and keep hot.
Meanwhile cook onion in oil over a gentle heat until softened, but not brown. Stirring in the ham and mushrooms and cook for two minutes more. Add Colman’s Wholegrain mustard and cream. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Toss through the pasta ribbons, coating well. Serve in four warmed bowls topped with Parmesan shavings.
Homemade beef stew here…w/a little sour cream…but not ’til later.
Hillary would benefit from movin to the left- but not in Texas probably
ive just discovered i love it in rice, pasta, fish….easy yummy
I was kind of neutral between HRC and Obama, both still have serious drawbacks in my mind. But recent HRC campaign moves and statements have given me pause about her. Most serious issue: apparently HRC and her followers retains allegiance to failed Big Damn Dem Consultant, Big State, Big Media, Big Inside Player Thought. And that allegiance is a real problem, outweighing advantages of her specific policy proposals. Because, you gotta consistently win elections on several levels in several regions in order to be in political leadership, and recent approaches of HRC camp has Big Loser Thought written all over it, in my opinion.
That is too bad because in domestic policy specifics, I am m ore inclined to HRC. On foreign policy, it is a matter of faith with both of them.
One worry I have is the ego factor in them both (and Edwards too, when he was in). I hope they both act like nice adults who realize his is bigger than either of them, or any of the top Dem honchos.
Prediction:
The Dem nominee will be Hillary.
Preferably, ground whole seed…! ;-)
My husband did the smart thing and this morning, threw into a crock pot: canned tomatoes, beef broth, black beans, kidney beans, three cloves of garlic, sliced up skirt steak, the biggest onion on earth and a bunch of other stuff out of the fridge plus some left over rice. Got home late from work and wa-la – dinner all ready. Yum.
I’ll be watching Keith instead…*g* /snark
No food for me until I see my sweetie in a few hours. Until then, I’m hoping not to get aggravated.
Bob in HI
i like everything with a dollup of that stuff
Yes (thanks, Raven). I’m hoping Dobbs isn’t the moderator…
Yep…
based on?
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yum is right
Obama never gets rattled, and that is a really good trait. He is even-tempered, but firm when he needs to be.
Filet de porc avec des oignons caramelisé, patates douces et patates en purées. Homer would be salivating.
May the eyes of Texas (the Austin debate) be upon you in a good way. And the eyes of this household are on the prize. The White House. And in pursuit of this overarching goal, Lahoma and I will support the nominee of our party. Obama or Hillary. The time is coming quickly to unite.
Fired up in NW Ohio!!
moi aussi
I was under the impression he doesn’t do too good in the debates, but that was when edwards was part of it all
God protect Obama. Amen.
“Filet de porc avec des oignons caramelisé, patates douces et patates en purées. Homer would be salivating.”
Homer Simpson? Or are you thinking of that old Greek guy?
Bob in HI
hi from new orleans!
Were the beans dried, or canned…?
Just that the power structure in the U.S. favors Hillary over Obama.
because he is thoughtful, and measured…i like that,as opposed to somebody who shoots from the hip
Oh… that does sound good.
L.
Why does it always sound tastier in French?
My DH can be counted on for “fast and furious” when he’s loading up the crock pot before we go off to work. So, these were canned, rinsed black and kidney beans. We are very partial to black beans in this house – my MIL is from Costa Rica.
MM– just the opposite I should say. Haven’t seen one teevee head say anything half way positive in months. They all hate her.
Hi!
Red beans and rice here…and I didnt get the bay leaf.
Recipe?
TV at one end of the house, computer at the other.
I’ll be back and forth.
Or back later…
Aww… Fern ya know that French is sooo much more melodious…! ;-)
Who is showing the debate?
Yup, that’s the one. Not the kind of food to share on a greek ship.
So no more news about McBush and his dick?
CNN
Wait, is it on CSPAN so I can stream?
i think black beans ,yellow rice, parsely ,onions (vidallia) and sour cream is my favorite meal…im a peasent at heart
hi, it’s kathryn from fbook … thx for showing me this site!
OMFG! Glad I missed that!
Capiche! A good soak the nite before works too…! *g*
Annnnnd away we go!
Hiya and welcome, you need a little blue effie.
good meal
Here we go…
We think Obama will be our next president. And we voted for this person in the Oklahoma pimary. And we continue to support him. My lady is wanting to know if I have considered not getting overly responsive during the debate tonight.
Somebody needs to turn off the “applause” light
In our house, yellow rice does not come without chicken – it’s like one word: “yellowriceandchicken”. Does not exist in this dimension without it.
Obama has to be careful not to have a zinger that will be taken as sexist while Hillary has to have a zinger to knock him out… tough
blue effie?
Campbell Brown” What” Is this NBC???/ Joking…
5f you’re talking about the super delegates, that entire debate is a tool the republicans are using to devide the party, the super delegates are a good thing not a bad thing and no, they won’t vote for hillary
they don’t vote as a block, they are progressive interest groups like native american indians, womens groups, youg democrats, things like that
they vote according to their progressive agenda, they don’t vote as a block
the candidates need to lobby for their vote just like they lobby for the states votes and it insures a president with a progressive agenda when he wins the general election
do not look behind the republican curtain of the media, all you find is smoke and mirrors
don’t worry about “the power structure” of the democratic party

Introduced the Innovation Districts for School Improvement Act (S. 2441). Under this initiative, school districts would submit plans on how they would become centers of reform. Twenty districts nationwide would be selected based on the best plans to increase achievement for all students and put effective teachers in all classrooms. These districts would receive substantial federal resources but would be required to implement systemic reforms and show convincing results.
Introduced the Summer Term Education Programs for Upward Progress Act (STEP UP) (S. 2149)~a grant program to support summer learning opportunities to be offered by local schools or community organizations.
Barack Obama’s first bill as a U.S. Senator was the HOPE Act (Higher Education Opportunity Through Pell Grant Expansion Act) (S.697), which would help make college more affordable for many Americans. The Lane Evans bill also would improve transition services for members of the National Guard and Reserves.
Not so lightweight for a Freshman Senator.
BTW If the Framers had wanted a restriction of the President to individuals that served “X” terms in Congress, or as a Governor…one would think that they would have included such restrictions in the Constitution. There’s an age restriction, Obama meets it. If experience is the criteria in selecting the next President, rather than the ideas behind that activity, well then we may as well hand it to the 70 year old in the other Party.
Why is Mrs Dan Senor, he of the Coalition Provisional Authority, moderating a Democratic debate on CNN?
Barack gets the louder applause.
Because of the accent.;-)
you’re kidding, right?
i put tumeric in the rice all the time now, cause its so damn healthy
We will not let go of the fact that Hillary and Obama are Democrats.
Re-login to WP and cut and paste your FB url…!
What’s the CPA?
unovision is cosponsor
Of course

** eleven in a row, including Democrats Abroad **
Wouldn’t Democrats be calling for Barack Obama to drop out if the situation was reversed? I think so.
Coalition in Iraq?
Live-blogging anyone? I can either do it or someone else can, or we can team up…
What is donuts in french? Not some fancy high class French or Quebecois donuts, but you know, good old doughy greasy disgusting total diet nightmare (mmm mmmm yum) american donuts?
oh i cant lie,im hoping for Obama
You missed an “s” on caramelises. (Sorry, grammarian) Out of curiosity in Quebecois can patate refer to both sweet potatoes and regular potatoes as opposed to French patates and pommes de terre?
I’m watching KO!
The American Viceroy’s Administration in Iraq (Paul Bremer’s operation) that was populated by GOP loyalists.
he hey tag team
Oh please do – those of us who are “sans cable” would appreciate it greatly.
You can also stream it on line at http://www.cnn.com
90 minutes? Oh boy. This should be something..
Teddy, That question alone is post worthy.
What’s left of it.
I’m not seeing it on CSPAM, off to the other end of the house…
(Jane: Don’t be nervous–it’ll be OK…*g*)
not completely following that … cut and paste to where?
That would be un beigne. We share the same recipes as you staters. And the real wicked stuff here incorporates potatoes and maple syrup in the batter.
Hill is talking about Barbara Jordan, and appearing very composed…theme make a difference
Ann Richards….
beignets
What is Hillary wearing?? Poor choice. Indeed bizarre. Like a bee with antannae.
Hey Biodun, Jane!
Hillary wants to end the discrimination against sick people.
perris,
I’m an amateur at politics.
But I know, or sense, the politicians we see are subject to powerful forces we don’t see.
My sense, FWIW, is that Hillary is much more the candidate of those powerful forces than is Obama.
KO: “The Iseman Trophy”. Tee hee.
Hillary Clinton represents a political dynasty hungry for power. She has special interest groups so deep in her pockets that it certainly affects her political decisions. Barack Obama has taken nothing from special interest groups, though he has little differences with Clinton on issues. I think the fact that Obama hasn’t taken contributions (bribes)from the special interest is in fact a HUGE difference between the two.
On the other side, you have McCain the obvious liar, Ron Paul who seems to be the most sane of the bunch, and Huckabee the freaking theocrat. I bring it up because I’m wondering about whether Ron Paul will run in the general election as a libertarian. If he does run, how do you think that will impact Obama? Paul seems to have a lot of young supporters, who may vote for Obama if he drops out. Opinions?
Is this going to be judged by the applause meter?
Hillary is using her *friendly voice* tonite
Lord I loved Ann Richards. And Ms. Jordan. And Molly Ivins. Ann Richards was a teacher. Too.
I don’t think so, barak represents a new breed of voters, he energizes the young, the disenfranchised and even if hillary wins, a good portion of those voters will vote
HRC invoking Barbara Jordon and Ann Richards and what they both taught her when she was in TX in her first political job, registering voters.
Talking about health insurance…stop discriminating against sick people.
Take care of the Veterans.
I offer a lifetime of experience and proven results.
Et Roy Dupuis. :-)
Hill is talking about Walter Reed
There is no yeast dough created that does not benefit from the judicious addition of mashed potatoes — cinnamon bums made with mashed potatoes are “to die for”. Oh, yeah, Raven — whole wheat cinnamon bums…
Oh. I think she looks nice.
C’mon.
She looks more composed than I wa worried about.
Hi…
Would be used for french pastries. Not a donut in Québec.
Thank you!!
Obama just has a certain class, a presence.
He sounds like he has a cold tonight…
Hi to you too, Richmond…it’s been a while…
We (Lahoma and I)really, really support that.
She was registering voters for *George McGovern* but omitted that. *g*
recipe…..pulllllllllllllllllllleasze
Im starting to reallllllllllllly take a shine to Barrak
obama’s recipe for chocolate chip cookies?
Obama mentions “uniting”. We like that.
OK…
Barack twisting his head from side to side while talking is a little weird. I don’t recall seeing him do that so much before. Someone should coach him about where the camera is, and have him play a bit more to them.
Obama- Washington is a place where good ideas go to die.
think i got it now
he addresses MY concerns
Hillary has her Cindy McCain face on
Work, work, you know the drill.
She is staring at him and he wants to turn towards her.
I think Obama has a cold or the flu…very nasal.
We are all feeling the brunt of the failing economy….predatory loan problem…people can’t pay medical expenses and mortgage…citing different examples…and jobs shipped overseas…to China…devastating job losses….I’m meeting veterans and families of veterans..injured because of a war that should not have been waged. Senator Clinton and I have been talking about these issues for the last 13 months…some the same, some different, we both recognize that we have an administration that has made them worse. Washington has become a place where “good ideas” go to die, because of lobbyists who have a strangle hold on Washington. The central premise of this campaign is that we can push back on those people, lobbyists, who have come to dominate the government.
Here’s Dakine01’s guide, it is from before the change over so I hope it still works…
How to add the facebook icon to your fdl name, courtesy of Dakine01:
Hill has kept her cool, and Barack is not as confident in this setting.
Nice guy and a brilliant actor. He’s done some essential Québécois movies.
Obama’s people’s personal stories are getting a little Kerryish. We know everyone’s situation is in the drink…..what are you actually going to do about all of it Senator Obama? Please be specific.
uhhhhhhhhhhhhh oh Castro question
Two excellent openings.
esspanol–thanks for bbeing with us…
pregunta about Castro–el caudillo…
Congrats, I had to take care of an errand, I see it worked…! Aloha!!!
Yes you do! Sorry, I’m sloooooooowwwwwwww.
And on rivers and the environment.
Why would Obama list specifics in his opening statement?
to be fair, I am afraid of both of these candidates, I think they are both going to be influenced by those that seeded their power
I am not happy with either and now all I want is the most electable
I have no idea which of these two are more electable then the other, but that’s what I want
I make the following prediction;
the next president, if a democrat, will be remembered as one of the greatest presidents that ever lived
they will bridge the great divide caused by the fascists in office, they will bring to all, democrat and republican, a new hope, a new pride
they will reclaim a portion of the international integrity lost, they will reclaim a portion of the honor squandered
they will have at their call a congress and a senate united in party, they will pass law
because of the firedoglake, because of you, because of ne, our law makers will do the peoples work, they will fear loss of seat in power if they do otherwise
they will do the peoples work and a new day will rise for our country
this is my prediction, whether our candidate is obama, hillary, or whoever is finally our standard bearer, they will be among the greatest presidents in the short history of our country
No, You’re not, WDD! ;-)
HRC: Open up the economy once a new Cuban government demonstrates it will cooperate and move toward democracy and freedom…There has to be real evidence that change is taking place. I would not meet with the new President in Cuba unless they demonstrated that they have changed. I think full diplomatic interaction important, but not a presidential meeting.
Shhh … say no more … Bush might invade … *g*
Barack definitely sounds like he has a cold. I’d imagine he passed on the cold meds to keep a clear mind.
Thanks for the description! I’m watching KO and reading the comments here on the debate.
Rachel Maddow up on MSNBC now…
he’s been accused of never making comments about specifics
I am with Obama’s answer. How about stop beating up on a puny island after 50 years. We give some major love to dictators around the world.
Yes I am. And so is my typing.
;)
The Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq was a Republican Ponzi Scheme to loot the US Treasury. Pallets of hundred dollar bills were shipped to Iraq to fund it. the CPA typically awarded contracts to US companies which took the money and did half-assed or no work, took the money and ran. After Custer-Battles got caught repainting old forklifts at the airport and presenting them as new, the CPA was disbanded and Custer Battles got away with the scam. There was no authority to go after them. A familiar stunt. Blackwater contractors enjoy similar unaccountablity.
A friendly voice on top of a a whole lot of anger.
hmm… don’t know all the nuance on the Cuban question, but a good (R) Cuban friend likes Clinton, does not like Obama (and is very unhappy about the pic of Che on the Cuban flag)
I wish they’d talk about important things, like Cindy McCain’s tears on the pillow last nite.
Clinton does not please me on her statements on Cuba. She sounds Republican and Bushian on this issue. The Cubans are not starving and they have health care and free education. Obama would meet without preconditions with the Cuban government.
Hill: I won’t meet with Castro unless there are evidence of real changes…
Obama: I’d meet with Castro, but also want to see evidence of progress…
He is agreeing with Clinton. Backing off on the immediate meeting.
That is one thing I would like to know more about (and must be quasi out there) – who are the people that are supporting the different candidates behind them. There is no way one or two people can do it along, there are groups behind them (maybe I am even crazier than I think and its just movement of the people).
Obama: Loosening up restrictions as a start, then an agenda, but I would not normalize relations unless there was progress. I support the eventual normalization, but since my entire lifetime and HRC’s entire lifetime, we have not seen change. Change with respect to remittances and with respect to travel.
We should negotiate. Take this opportunity, since Fidel has stepped down.
I think Obama is keeping his cool just fine.
I think they have Simon Cowell doing assessments at strategic intervals.
ssnnrrrkkkkk!
Hey Petro!
I’ll fight to the last drop of syrup…
Clinton tries a gotcha on Cuba with Obama but it falls flat. Obama gave a measured if somewhat overlong response.
Right.
It is similar but you can’t say that its the same. I though all three candidates would be exactly the same.
Its not the same. One would meet with them, the other flat refused. We are screwing Cubans.
So, your ‘un beigne’ is different from them square things you get in New Orleans?
Whatever. I like the potato flour and maple syrup ideas. I’ll be right up there with the cash in hand. I might be able to wait until debate is over, not sure.
Yup!
Rachel Maddow (on MSNBC, where she’s now an a political analyst): Drudge wrote about this in Dec..and then no one made a peep about it…
Hillary is triangulating and back peddling on Cuba.
HRC: I believe in diplomacy with a lot of preparatory work. Bush’s narrowly defined diplomacy has alienated our friends and emboldened our enemy. The arrogance of the Bush Administration era is over.
There’s Chelsea. Girl’s gone through metamorphosis.
Campbell Brown obviously has a hearing issue.
CNN on line has an annoying line measuring the response of 25 smu students..
But yea, in what they will actually do I think you are likely correct – should have said that.
No one’s saying we should disappear our “rights”/territory on Cuba: Gitmo.
I love this position
I have always said the saying “you have to earn respect” is incorrect;
I give respect to everyone, they don’t earn it they are born with it, a person earns disrespect
Clinton talking about sending bipartisan missions to Cuba. Bipartisanship? Where are you going to find a Republican who is not a criminal, a dupe, or a fool?
Obama sounds intrepid to me
Real question….ding.
BO: Because of Bush’s destruction of world relations..it is important to take the extra step now to repair it by meeting directly with leaders.
Quand a moi, j’aime le croton et les plogs et….la tarte au sucre!
On Cuba, Obama was being statesperson like. Hillary? Not so much.
that disstresses me to NO END
I got a Robo call to meet with Chelsea tomorrow morning. Can’t go.
Dig up Lincoln? maybe Teddy Roosevelt?
I’ll get my Hockey stick and join you on the front line, mon ami …
this was dumb and a no starter
If there is no fireworks by 9pm (when people tune out) its gonna have to be major to get into the new cycle tomorrow.
That comment pissed me off.
I guess she going to continue to stare to put him off.
c’est vrai? Tu aimes ca?
End tax breaks for the wealthy. From Obama. Sweet music.
Woo hoo “lead paint” take a shot.
email address please – I’ll send it; it’s too long for here. My email is: htwollin at yahoo dot com.
I’m hungry again, I’ll join you.
This town (Austin) is on fire for Obama. I can’t wait to hear him speak tomorrow night. It is just awesome to not be a flyover state this time!
he justed suggested hillary’s green economy jobs …
im liking what im hearing from BO
Obama takes a minute to warm up.
Bravo … very well said, indeed !
Obama on greenness. He is saying he and Hillary agree on these issues. Credit to the democratic party.
Obama: End Bush tax cuts for rich, end tax credits for companies going overseas, end taxing social security income less than $50,000.
Millions of Miami Cubans tend to vote Republican b/c Republicans have supported the ridiculous embargo in exchange for their votes. With the embargo comes special status for Miami Cubans and their relatives back home. They are Political Asylum Seekers. As such, they are entitled to a myriad of social welfare benefits. And once they enter the US, they can stay legally.
So far not having the WAR is the answer to everything execpt the Cuba question. I bet not being in Iraq is the answer to 90% of the good questions.
Hill is kinda creeping me out with the staring. Is that normal?
BO: How will a BO economy be different than an HRC economy.
Tax code. Stop tax breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas.
End tax breaks to the wealthy. Offset to payroll tax for 75K or less.
Close tax loopholes and havens. More, but I can’t keep up.
Invest in solar, wind, biodiesel more jobs.
Credit to Dem party as a whole…other candidates with us before had great ideas.
Change will only come about if we form a working coalition because special interests will resist. HRC may differ slightly.
im emailing ya now
I got the call, too.
he justed suggested hillary’s green economy jobs …

You mean John Kerry’s from 2004? (10 billion for Green energy)
One of Obama’s greatest strengths shown in the debates is that he is a gentleman. Very polite and respectful of everyone involved.
Et la tortiere. J’ai faim, comme d’habitude!
Hill is kinda creeping me out with the staring. Is that normal?

Don’t like the staring but its not fatal or anything (like the “sigh”’s they recorded on Al).
Clinton looks good.
where’s he speaking tomorrow night?
Hillary–Trade Time Out!!! Examine what is working and what is not.
Loo Hoo, what do you think of Hillary’s wardrobe tonight ?
I guess he’s used to staring.
yup, she’s been running ads on it recently … prolly originated with Gore even before Kerry
Heh, those slap shots can be effective…! ;-)
That was John Kerry’s. Close the tax loophole for companies to move overseas was also John Kerry’s bit.
And with those funny curving yellow lines nar her neck, she looks close up like an insect. Sorry, not intending to be negative, but THINK before you dress for the Teevee.
He’s speaking here in Austin?
Collar doesn’t work at all. I’m starting to like color. EEEEK!! Cindy.
Are you going?
Clinton: repeats Obama points on helping middle class. Moratorium on trade agreements, higher standards on imports, moratorium on home foreclosures
no kidding, Dubya has declared war on science
Innovation Nation. -Hillary
HRC: “gotta end George Bush’s war on science”
I like this.
11th and Congress – I’m guessing at the grounds of the capitol. gates open at 6 pm and speech is at 9 pm.
Very Exciting!
Aren’t they in Austin, right now…? ;-)
Very true. And we think HRC is about 100% better than George W. Bush.
We like Clinton’s concept of putting people to work on “green jobs”.
Clinton: invest in infrastructure, end war on science
See response at 239
…. I dunno I don’t think those “time outs” are very practical or would do much. I do like policy talk though.
No. He is advancing science by bringing dinosaurs and humans together on the earth for the first time ever.
Her wardrobe has always been so good … maybe one of her peeps can tell us why they chose Black, and with that yellow border …
That was snark (OK?).
rofl
Question: Stop ICE raids on immigrants.
Clinton: I would consider that. (Is that a yes or a no?) Comprehensive immigration reform. Specifics?
I am so there!
Can we put Georgie and Dick in time out until Jan 20, 09?
have you got a link?
I like Hillary’s proposal on a “path to legalization”
LOL
Hurray, Hillary is not raising her voice, yet still sounds forceful …
She is displaying an incredible breadth of knowledge as well.
She should really have a butter shell under the jacket.
Go to his website – apparently you have to RSVP, though who knows how that is supposed to work given the thousands that will probably be there.
Maybe I’ll see you there!
Here’s the linky

New thread upstairs.
HRC: There must be a path to legalization.
Obama: Same, but I would add critical that we tone down the rhetoric, there has been an ugly undertone, hate crimes sky rocket, we are a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants. Stronger border security, crack down on employers, make sure that it doesn’t lead to discrimination against people with spanish surnames. Path to citizenship, but back of the line. We need o fix the legal immigration system. Too expensive. Fix it. We have to improve our relationship with Mexico so that there economy is producing jobs on that side of the border. Problem is Bush dropped the ball because he has been so obsesssed with Iraq.
I have no idea how to hook up with you, are you on facebook?
Obamas stuff on travel and remittances to Cuba is good. No one should prevent Cubans from sending money to their families!
thanks trueblue. it does look like the capital.
Very respectable legislative record.
Like Colin Powell or William Cohen or … ?
