So, tell us. How do you like the photo? Should we enlarge it, crop it, make it brighter, sharper? Colorized, pixilized, desaturated, elongated?
Because you’re going to be seeing a lot of it.
BTW, don’t make me defend Cindy McCain. Please, just don’t make me do it. I’m begging you.

Jane!
Impeach!
Hello, Jane:
Where are you today? DC?
Wow! He’s getting into Cheney territory!
19?
That high?
hahahahaha
Hello, I must be going – back soon.
Hi Jane!
Jane, I could live a happy life Never seeing that photo again.
And, That Cindy bit clip I saw yesterday on the news referring to Michelle’s statement gave me the huge Heebe Jeebes.
I liked it better when she kept her nasty mouth shut.
Uh, oh, I said to myself.
Wonder what the pundits have to say about the guy we are supposed to wanna have a beer with… now?
Several want our 1480 KPHX radio put that picture on their billboards that currently have just chimpy with the phrase of “Had Enough?”…..
It needs to be seen every day with want 4 more years of Bush?
19% Is this some kind of record?
19% = 60,000,000
YIKES
Hi Jane.
So do we like the name McBush? Better or worse than McCrazy?
“We do not contemplate”…American military bases in central Africa.
Just heard that quote from Bush a moment ago on MSNBC. The ultimate Mr. W is for Weasel Word strikes again.
Maybe enlarge the upper photo showing St. John kissing our dear leaders chest.
Just exactly how can anyone be undecided?
Do they live under a turnip truck (no offense to turnips or trucks)?
Or McWar…
maybe FDL needs a poll.
Yep
That’s the picture that will nail McBush to the wall. Must be some good footage to go with it. If you look closely, McBush has closed his eyes- as if in sexual ecstacy!
MCbush needs to distance himself from ol 19 but he can’t do it too soon as the majority of goopers still approve of the idiot.
I never took you for a name calling kind of gal.
What, politics getting to ya?
Why would I ask you to defend Cindy McCain? She has plenty of people to do that on other blogs. And I bet she does a zestful job of it her ownself.
Four More WARs! ~ McBush/LIEberman’08
Jane, you’re stirring up the po(s)t.
Right?
I’m now for Obama!
Who moved the decimal point?
Jane, maybe you crop it and rotate it 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
unfortunately, just trying to distract myself from back pain.
I count the days..and very worried, they have committed so much egregiousness I fear what they might pull to prevent their demise, and I cannot stand the wait for that demise. It is like waiting for the extreme pain of back injury to subside, when you think you will go quite insane with the pain.
Quite possible. Don’t rule it out…
Every time that photo appears, it needs something new, something fresh, something different. It needs a McCaption.
A suggestion for today’s McCaption: “I just heard about that 19% figure, Mr. Bush. It’ll be OK — what you need is a good hug.”
Mcflop
We are still using Gohn Insain at my house although McWar was a big hit yesterday.
Perhaps you could rotate that photo with this one, which is even more funny IMO:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..h-cake.jpg
I think the sharp drop is due to all the Hillary and Obama speeches. People are being reminded of what a president should sound like. Not to mention the message.
Worse than Nixon ! ! !’
19 perspirant
Preznit Mendoza Line.
From a “where will we get material?” standpoint, this should be the easiest campaign ever. Ever!
That really should be on billboards across America. On TV, just run the Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran clip joined with the 100 year war interview and yer done.
I think most people would prefer to pour their beer on him now.
Personally, this is my FAVORITE picture. I have printed out countless copies for the goopers in my life. I want it larger, larger, larger.
I also want one photoshopped with McCains hand lowered to Bush’s arse…
No, I think it just keeps moving “to the right, ever to the right, never to the left, forever to the right . . .”
Ah, those cool, cool, conservative men . . .
Well, if we Have to keeping viewing that shot, I think you’ve made a Fabulous suggestion.
A new perspective, if not a new image.
But, unfortunately, I don’t think there are enough hugs available to make him feel better. :)
I love the sagging frosting on the front, and the flag sticking up in front of McSharraf’s crotch. Priceless expressions as well.
LOL!
By golly, that’s a good point. Probably has made the fool look even more the fool.
At the same time as New Orleans was drowning, if I’m not mistaken.
The photo? Enlarge and continuously rotate 360 degrees. And they can rotate on….
Shrub and McShitForBrains
Sittin’ in a tree
Sayin’ to each other
Can I hold it when you pee?
Absolutely.
Need to turn up the smell-a-vision in the foto, Jane: more Bush stink, please.
Dang. Now do we all have to go back and edit our remarks about the “28%’ers”?
PS to Crosstimbers @ 24: I disagree. Rotate clockwise to see what happened to him in 2000 and what will be repeated in 2008. The only difference is that he appears to be enjoying it this time.
Just before Katrina hit. When NOLA was drowning, Bush was playing the guitar.
Does this mean that Darth actually has a higher JAR?
THAT would be hysterical.
I like this one hte best. Easy to use in conversation too: John McCain has gone insane.
St John attempts to prune his Shrubbery.
Always consult “the Wizard”:
http://home.comcast.net/~wizardofwhimsy/
Last I heard, Darth was around 9% JAR.
How does ARG’s polling compare to others? Higher, lower, about the same? That seems like a drastic drop, even for an @ss like the Chimp.
just heading out the door – but 19%? Seriously?
Has there ever been one lower?
Lol. You may be right. Bush would probably insist anyway.
Lowest Historic approval rating I can find is Harry Truman who got a sizzling 22% approval vs 66% disapproval during HIS war of choice- Korea.
The 19%/77% rating blows ol Harry out of the water.
Harry is the guy Clusterfuck clings to- since historians have made him a bit more palatable then he was at the time. Still Ike had to come in and end Harry’s stupid ass war.

Again….how can anyone be undecided?
Has the US won a war in the last 60 years?
That’s getting down to the Cheney and Rumsfeld families. He certainly deserves his popularity.
Can we assume the 19% crowd is all on their way to watch the satellite missile liftoff?
Drive safely, y’all!
Can you add animation to that photo?
Has the Rapture started?
It seems 9% of the population has disappeared, at least 9% of the diehard Bush supporters anyway.
Even for Bush, this one seems awfully low. I think that he’ll “skyrocket” to the mid-20s when the next one comes out.
Jane: Can you blow it up some more? I want to be able to see the former lines on McCain’s forehead. Thanks!
How can you forget about Granada? Damn fisherman collectives had it coming.
McCain’s posture- abject servitude to that giant of a man GW Clusterfuck. IF that picture doesn’t kill his campaign, nothing can.
Has the US won a war in the last 60 years?
We have to be in a war to win a war. Since WW II, everything has been a police action or a UN exercise.
It seems like I did see a lot of empty suits during the last session of the House.
It’s not exactly his ass… however… it’s not Photoshopped.
19%…well I was in for 23%, but happy to let somebody else win.
OT- but I would like to hear Sen. Obama more forceful on the energy/ gas price thing. I know he touched a little on it last night, but the Wall Street Journal has had many articles discussing how $30 to $50 of the cost of a barrel of oil is due to chaos in the Middle East; chaos of our own doing.
He should make clear this additional benefit when discussing ways to help our economy.
Perhaps you could rotate that photo with this one, which is even more funny IMO:

Eating their cake and strumming guitar while New Orleans drown.
Yeah–Well—Korea and Viet Nam seemed kinda warry. In both we wanted to win without getting the Chinese too pissed off.
Barbara Ehrenreich nailed I think in this piece, “Unstoppable Obama”:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..86677.html
Feb 2008 19% 77% 4%
Jan 2008 34% 59% 7%
What a difference a month makes. You can almost hear the pops as their head are removed from their collective asses.
Repeat ad nauseum:
“I endorse Governor Bush, I endorse Governor Bush, I endorse Governor Bush.”
“I would be proud to have President Bush campaign for me and support me in any way he feels is appropriate.”
“I think the president has led with great clarity and I think he’s done a great job leading the country, don’t you all?“
I’ve seen it blown up. The lines aren’t there during as state of ecstacy.
Down 15% in one month? That’s crazy even for him.
That photo makes me feel dirty everytime I see it.
Teamsters endorsing Obama — Breaking news.
I thought I would mention to you that Kirk Watson is a good guy and definitly NOT STUPID despite your opinions to the contrary, as expressed in a prior post. I’ve known him many years and will defend him any day.
spinning 19 percent, have at it meisters(sp) spin away. Give it your best shot…aint gonna fly no more vox populi has awakened at last
Probably a big outlier, but Clusterfuck has been at or near lows in many polls lately.
More stupid surrogacy, via Atrios:
He can finally say he beat his Poppy at something now…..
“just heading out the door – but 19%? Seriously?
Has there ever been one lower?”
Not since they started keeping track in modern times. http://uspolitics.about.com/od…..proval.htm
See my 80
No I’m serious. The sexist slams in this campaign of late have been off the hook. There’s plenty substantial about Cindy McCain to criticize without delving into sexist stereotypes. I’m seeing them all over the blogosphere and it’s just not necessary.
Oh yes, that would er, shall we say, give the picture its proper meaning…although in this respect, clockwise would even be better…,coz I think it’s McCain who’s currently getting f*cked by Chimpy (he hasn’t endorsed him yet, even if dad has); even though a few years ago, during the famous tax cuts, it was McCain doing the f*cking…
No matter how many times I view that pix at the top, each time I see it, I become additionally repulsed. My impulse yearns to refer to Mr. McCain in rather rude terms. But I won’t. Yet.
chickens-roost
what a hoot
There’s no need to be rude at all. We just call him “Snuggles” now.
The lady in red is smiling because she can see what McCain’s doing with his right hand.
As much as I dislike George Bush, I’d like to see this confirmed. If true, it would mean that a whole bunch of bitter-end loyalists suddenly jumped ship, this month. What happened?
Only thing I can think of is home foreclosures; a Bush zealot tossed out onto the street is likely to change his mind. But that many?

What we should do is what they in WWll when working on the bomb, only, in this case for a far more beneficent goal. Get away from oil, put the best minds found together and deal with this, as a matter of the utmost, paramount, preeminent importance, without party or political agenda. Physicists, biologists, economists, mathematicians. Nothing could be more important.
Obama will eat this man’s (McCain) lunch.
thanks for the first laugh of the day. i actually did see that somewhere.
Hahaha!
Do you think GWB burped Johnny after that photo was snapped?
I hope the CT guys who made the Kiss Float are hard at work right now. Let us know when they have a “product.”
Might this news help convincing David Broder that he is so full of excrement that he should retire rather than embarrass himself any further? To remind you all, it was Broder who told us all of the soon to be realized up-shoot in popularity of the ever dismal Bush. That was when Bush was in the mid thirties approval.
19% of likely voters is nowhere like that percentage of the entire population, of course. At least exclude all the under-18’s, the over 90’s and the scary brown people who must hurled back over the border (with a trebuchet–that would be a show too damn many would pay to see on reality TV!)
I have this fantasy of Jesus’ second coming. He looks each of these mean-spirited, Christian-in-name-only, people straight in the eye, assesses them, and if they are beyond redemption, says, ‘Come to Jesus!, and rips them a new one. Us progressive lefties watch in horror and shout, ‘Please, Lord, show mercy! This country doesn’t need 30 million new a**holes!’ *crickets* ? Well, I thought it was funny.
Perhaps not home foreclosures, but a lot of folks who went to the bank to borrow on their home equity loans to pay Xmas bills, and couldn’t?
Well yes it’s true- that is ARG DID just publish a 19% JAR for our dear leader.
That number is way lower than anyone else’s recent polling- so it’s probably a misread- but the other polls are near their lowest ratings ever for ODL also- so he’s goin down the crapper- and every piece of bad news slides him a little closer to the sewer.
A 15% dive in a month, even for this guy, is huge. Is it the electoral
tsunami undertow, general disgust, or some item specific thing?
Yes, the poll does suggest that the tanking economy had some role in this. (Although Rasmussen still has Bush in the 30’s for this week, virtually unchanged from their previous numbers.) I’m wondering if it also had something to do with all the primaries. A number of people who had not been paying attention may have started to take a look a around and definietly didn’t like what they saw.
But I’m still lost when I see this approval number, the 2 to 1 turnout of Democrats to Republicans in the primaries, McCain running on Bush’s policies virtually in total and yet the head-to-head polling has McCain competitive? How can that be?
Absolutely agree.
In the mean time there are so many simple things we can do.
All public transportation (buses, cabs, etc.) should be powered by natural gas.
All govt. agency vehicles (except police, fire and EMS) should be also.
I’m not saying this should happen all at once, just make the change as older vehicles are replaced. Very simple.
IMPEACHMENT HEARING NOW
OT: I’ve noticed a counter Obama’s site has had up for a few weeks where they’ve had a goal of 500,000 donors in 2008 before March 4th. It wasn’t moving much for a while, perhaps 10,000 in a week, and it didn’t look like they’d meet that goal since it was at 460,000 two days ago. In the last 24 hours, it has gone up 50,000 to over 510,000 donors so far in 2008! Unbelievable. Better and Better Dems no doubt!
The economy…?
OT: We didn’t get an early enough start to see Obama in downtown Dallas. By the time we got up at 5:30, the TV already showed people in line. The speech is being streamed on Dallas Fox station website. There’s a huge audience in Reunion Arena. He’s late (now 27 minutes). They just played Bruce Springsteen’s “American Land”. We showed my 3-year-old granddaughter on TV and said, “That’s where we were going to take you.” She said, “There’s two more seats.”
Obama as a poet with Prius-driving, Berkenstock-shod yuppie constituents – not unlike calling Kerry a flip flopper (meaning that he is an anthropomorphic flaccid phallus). Poets can’t fight, you see? They can only wax poetic. Hillary (and her clownish minion) wishes she were so eloquent.
Jane is upstairs with my new Zed… …and Falafel Boy’s lynch mob.
This thought is making it’s way into my brain. If the Clinton message of experience over change is not resonating with voters, then how is the McCain advisory doing with vote for me, for more of the same? Happier days may well be ahead. Soon.
Scotty “the gooper” Rasmussen’s numbers for Bush are a joke. Not only are they five to ten points higher than real pollsters, they also don’t rise and fall with the rest. They’re useless in my opinion.
WAR IS NOT THE SOLUTION…IT IS PART OF THE PROBLEM
ARG is constantly way off from every other polling company. I’m starting to think they do this just to get attention.
Everyone was surprised and they got a lot of press for having Hillary up 10% the day before Iowa. They had Obama up 13% the day before NH, by far the most than any other poll. They were the only with Hillary up in WI two days ago, with a double digit lead no less. Now this.
I have serious suspicions about ARG.
The economy has been bad for some time and has gotten worse, guess it
just reached the crossover point to push this number… should have
happened earlier, but people have been patient with Stupid for too long.
You probably have it right.
Wait till Al Sadr lifts the cease fire in Iraq. These dumb fucks are all convinced violence is down because everything is surge-alicious, but the real reason is that Moqtada has held his fire for the past six months. Bush has his head so far up his ass, with his well-known aversion to bad news, I’ll bet he doesn’t even know about the cease fire ceasing –or what his astronomical approval rating is.
Among Republicans (29% of adults registered to vote in the survey), 45% approve of the way Bush is handling his job and 50% disapprove. Among Democrats (43% of adults registered to vote in the survey), 1% approve and 99% disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job. Among independents (28% of adults registered to vote in the survey), 17% approve and 75% disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job as president.
Overall, 14% of Americans say that they approve of the way George W. Bush is handling the economy, 79% disapprove, and 7% are undecided. Among registered voters, 15% approve and 79% disapprove of the way Bush is handling the economy.
ARG
Inflation has been really bad and getting worse. Bonddad has been posting on it lately. The most interesting, to me, was the comparison of true CPI (as figured prior to the Reagan (and later) cosmetic surgery) and the doctored variety.
ARG included 45% dems and only 29% goopers- that’s off and explains the results. The fact, though, that only 45% of goopers approve of the job Clusterfuck is doing is instructive. Wonder if McBush noticed that number? It’s been MUCH higher recently- over fifty percent.
If oil prices continue to soar and medical costs escalate, we enter another era of “stagflation”- that’s a very tough environment in which to make macro-economic decisions. If Obaam wins, he’d better have a first class economic staff.
What I pray for is reasonable discourse, am I dreaming, Obama is somewhat unknown as to how he will deal with these issue, but I believe him intelligent and wise enough to see that continued dependence on foreign sources of oil is a recipe for untold tragedy. I may not have a degree from college but I damn sure have one in life, and this is so obvious a necessity, it over arches all at my house.
And 19 percent for bush and all his troglodytes can help give it impetus, that and our voices, their school teaches the wrong curriculum and we know it in greater numbers.
Jane. I believe you are earnest as well as serious in your response to the sexist stereotyping of Ms. McCain.
Had the commenters on this side picked up the topic you laid on the table, and discussed that, I probably wouldn’t have accused you of stirring up the pot. I was really reacting to the amount of bitching, moaning and namecalling going on here, as well as the media and other blog sites.
I agree that there are substantive issues that the McCains bring to the party that people should focus on rather than sexist stereotyping.
Unfortunately, we citizens, bloggers, tv watchers apparently have more fun ripping other people over the easy stuff. Duh…whoa, dude. Don’t make me use my wittle bwain.
I thank you for the opportunity, though.
Maybe when we get over last night, we can have a serious discussion about fairness. I’d like that.
We may already have entered stagflation. But don’t bother Helicopter Ben with that news…
Just a reminder-
The losing Dem candidate, Hillary got more votes than all the Repubs combined by about 50,000 votes.
Any theories about which act of stupidity caused the numbers to drop further?
Mine is the FISA temper tantrum before going to Africa.
Other than that, my fallback position is any time he opens his mouth about what a “true” democracy is…
i didn’t see the post you’re talking about, but i second the emotion. i worked hard to get kirk watson elected for mayor of austin and he was a great mayor and is now a state senator. he’s smart and a good guy. he was clearly not prepared. that’s it.
Can we get an amen
Si se puede
Of course.
Good point Demi,
Was called on my own baloney this morning in a phone conversation. We can be effective and kick ass without that..
Jane, so much for the judgement and wisdom of the SCOTUS for giving him the election. Nice going guys, you share the blame.
I have no doubt that he’s a good guy, but he was clearly caught flat-footed. My comment was meant more as a dig at Texas politicians than at Watson.
“Should we enlarge it, crop it, make it brighter, sharper?”
mmm, perhaps something in papier mache?
(I already left this comment at Atrios, but it bears repeating here, since this 19% figure is getting a lot of play.)
I’d like to add to the previous comments about how bad ARG is. Scroll down to the bottom of their page that you link to, and you’ll see the actual wording of the questions, and the order in which they ask them. Notice that they have a whole battery of questions about the economy first, and then, right at the end of the survey they ask about Bush’s job approval.
This is the exact opposite of what a good public opinion poll does. You ask about the core “dependent variable” first (Bush approval) and THEN you ask about the independent variables (views of the economy).
When it’s done right, with the approval question first, you find out what people’s views are of Bush. When it’s done the way ARG does it, with approval last, you find out what people think about Bush after they’ve just been asked a whole bunch of questions about the economy.
So, OK, from pollsters that actually have some standards and know what the hell they’re doing (i.e., pretty much everyone other than ARG) we know that Bush’ actual job approval is in the low 30% range. From ARG we know that if we get people thinking about the economy, it goes even lower.
That’s actually useful information, from a message-testing perspective. Democrats need to keep talking about the economy.
Cheers!
– Joel
For bumper stickers, how about using WcCain, with the W in bold red?
Pitiful.
I think there should be a paper mache (sp?) float made of this in every state that would follow McCain to every appearance. Just like the “Kiss” in Connecticut.
I did a little video clip about this development. Not for people with weak tummies.
As off topic as possible
