Soon to be released Son Lux new album has a few interesting cuts. In addition to the YouTube above titled Breaking, a few more songs are available for listening on their myspace page. If you take the time to check out a few more songs don’t miss Throw or This Is The Early Game. I think we will hear more from this group in movie soundtracks soon.

Hey Margot :-)
You took the 3rd and the 5th as a matter of fact!
Good evening all..)
That’s odd.
He’s a lush.. a funny lush, but a lush none the less. *g*
Eureka, I got nothin’ on my mind tonight but the schadenfreude ;-) Just hanging out here for a bit.

Lobbyist are paid to do a job, get politicians to pass laws there clients want in exchange for cash now if John was sleeping with a Lobbyist where do you draw the line at prostitution? How do we or John know that she wasn’t sleeping her way to the top?
John might have been sleeping with her.
her clients paid John
John passed laws.
If we find out that yes he was sleeping with her well what is the difference between what she does and some street corner girl?
I only took a third of the fifth – totally sober.
Excellent. After a night of McInsane almost having sex.. brain cells are probably about ready to go on strike anyway.
Can you Digg It?
Interesting visuals in that video, ES. I don’t see many music videos these days. Maybe someday someone will start a TV channel that plays music videos all the time. Is that great idea, or what? ;-)
What happened to nahant?
Dugg.
Moon eclipse, satellite shoot down, McCain sex scandal, Fighter jet collision, meteor hits in Portland.
Slow news day!
I got beddy bye on my mind.
Trippy video ES.
I liked the piano work.
Looks like I’m going to finally kick this crud I’ve has fer a week, sheese, nasty stuff, I don’t recommend it.
More woes for McCain
His major campaign media strategist is likely going to quit, and..no…it’s not for the reason you may think!
I have to say MTV was a great disappointment to me from the very start.. have not watched it in 20 years.. YouTube on the other hand is an amazing phenomenon. This video caught my attention more than the song..and the Son Lux guys bio on myspace is pretty interesting. A lot of classical training.
Once again I am digg-challenged. What is the bloody secret?! I hit the link, I enter my login name and password, and hit “digg it”, and then I’m asked for my password again…lather, rinse, repeat and I’m still being asked for my password or being told that I’m not logged in.
/rant
It’s because mark McKinnon is a self-serving sanctimonious scumbag – gee, why wouldn’t he stay with McCain?
he’s been self-fluffing this story for about a week. He’s too sensitive to attack Obama. Has he listened to his candidate this week – the one he’s still working for?
Became tikanga.
Sorry, been staring at those names all day.
*raising hand sheepishly now*
It’s been dugg…
My sympathies..)
I liked it for the first few years, but after a while it became too much about things other than the videos. Now, of course, about the only time they show music videos is as part of documentaries.
Summer is the time when the housing market kicks into high gear. The Banks have been doing very well the last few years making home loans and then reselling the loans to
hedgefundser idiots. But even the idiots won’t buy them now, well the Fed might.
Now then Banks are tightening credit demanding a bigger down payment etc because they are worried about making bad loans. But what effect will this action by the banks have on June Home Sales? I’m guessing that when the June numbers come up they will suck.
But without all that home loan cash coming in the Banks expected cash will drop like a stone. I think their stock will drop even lower then.
Helicopter Ben will be forced to loan the banks even more money. But what are the banks using as collateral for these loans subprime paper maybe?
Is Ben valuing this paper at presubprime crises value or its current worthless value?
Is Ben sticking us taxpayers with the bill?
location, location, location:

and now for something completely different:
Busted, sleep well – glad you’re beating the crud.

Good evening, ES!
Doing installation and build tests has to be one of the most boring things in software. You wait hours to find out if it went OK. Frequently, it doesn’t, which means you do it again.
Helicopter Ben?
Rep. Don Young held his first Anchorage press conference in ages today. He pretty much refused to answer any questions though, while sounding more and more like the crazy uncle that gets drunk by noon on Christmas.
ES just a late dinner with the lady of the house…. have to keep her happy
The head of the federal reserve Greenspans old job
It was the “Helicopter” part that I found more mysterious.
Ben did a thesis on the great depression and his conclusion was the Fed at the time did not make the market more liquid. His solution he said was that if he were ever faced with a depression he would throw cash out of helicopters to get the economy going again. But somehow all his helicopters seem to only fly over banks.
Good to see you, nahant.
Very interesting article. Thanks.
Just like most government vehicles dumping cash, I guess. Thanks.
I want John to explain the difference to the moral majority do you think they will buy your explanation or should he go Shaggy on them with “it wasn’t me”
Hi ES good to be seen
AR Times blog posted this youtube tonight (without commentary). It just went up on YouTube today. I don’t quite know what to make of it. I think it really depends a lot on ones opinion of Obama.
Barack Obama: There Will Be Bamboozling
Looks like David Axelrod will have to come up with some new catchphrases now. Unless, of course, P.T. Barnum was a pessimist.
Will the Fed lower interest rates? Thanks to Helicopter Ben’s flooding the country with cash and low interest rates the Dollar has gone down about 1/3 compared to Euroe since Bush took office. If Ben lowers interest rates he risks more inflation and sending gold prices now less than $1,000 an ounce to their inflation adjusted highs reached in the 70’s early 80’s of $2,000 an ounce.
Of course if Ben does not lower interest rates the Dow will tank and Cramer will give Ben and by extension Bush and the GOP hell every day during an election year.
Bush’s base the economic elite will not like that.
So the question is, is Ben responsible or a Bush sock puppet?
The NYT had this story in December. For some reason they sat on it. In January they endosed McCain. Today, now that McCain has the nomination, they publish the story.
Damn, there is a lot to mull over.
Sure would help to know who made that little video.
Does it matter? The material was out there. I’m just sorry it wasn’t out there a month or two ago. At least the Democratic primaries would have been able to take it into consideration.
So the question is, is Ben responsible or a Bush sock puppet?
Conceivably, he could be neither. I think the only possibility we can discount is “both”.
Probably not. After watching it a second time I don’t imagine it would change anyones mind. I think most uninformed folks who like Obama would probably think it’s a good piece about him..repeating all the cool things he says.
Agreed but I think the odds not impossible but low on that. When Predicting probable scenarios I need information to suggest what or why he might be a neither.
It wouldn’t change a lot of Obama supporters’ minds, that’s for sure. Still, it would have been nice. Now, they can act like Democrats in Congress did after voting for the AUMF in 2002 – “if we’d only known …”.
I’d just be guessing, of course, but it seems possible he could be someone else’s sock puppet – like Wall Street’s, or the Rockefellers, or Rupert Murdoch’s or, well heck, I don’t know. In that world there are plenty of folks with lots of money, and recent history suggests that there are plenty of people willing to accept some of that money in return for not being too inquisitive or skeptical.
More crap form the wingnuts through e-mail… They will stop at nothing to put fear and doubt in to the minds of those who don’t fact check and believe everything they read!
Short answer: Yes.
It’s happened before in the largest bailout by the government of the 20th century. And McCain was involved.
It was called the 1980’s Savings and Loan Crisis, which resulted from the deregulation of the S&L sector, which then offered lots of loans without adequate security to thousands of ill-vetted applicants, who then defaulted. Even worse was the fact that the loans were being made from the funds of hundreds of thousands of average people encouraged to invest because of the great returns due to the “kick ass” housing sector.
Then the house of cards collapsed. McCain, and his colleagues in the Keating Five, approached regulators to back off in the investigation of Charles Keating, the President of the Arizona-based Lincoln Savings and Loan…a large contributor to their campaigns. Keating went to jail for defrauding the account-holders about the fiscal health of his S&L. The Senators were censured, but none went to jail or were expelled. Two resigned, two were bounced out by the voters, but John McCain “survived”.
Sound familiar?
Ya think he knew that the lobbyist-story was about to break…and he’s creating “cover”?
Good heavens, they even have computers! What sort of church are they running there?
ES – I really like the song and video up top. I also enjoyed the subway/penguin one the other night. I had just watched the BBC Planet Earth episode on Ice Worlds earlier in the evening that in part featured the Emperor penguins of antartica. It was a weird coincidence at the time.
here’s a track that’s got me in a dreamy dream state, not so much the hopping woman, but the trancelike bell music:
Four Tet – You Were There With Me
.on that note…buenos suenos
true
Just friggin unbelievable they really have computers… but do they know how to use them??/ That is the real question :>)
We need numbers on what exactly is Ben getting as collateral for these loans if he is taking subprimes at presubprime crises value. ARRGH!
on second thought, the hopping woman should stay.
Good night, Muzzy.
No. I think he knows which way the wind is blowing, like he did when he left dem politics in Texas for W. He’ll get McCain to the nomination and then goodbye.
He would stay if Hillary won – no personal problems with sliming her. But Obama touches on his self-image. He’s to good, too principled to attack him. Gack.
If the banks default on their Fed loans how does that hurt the Fed?
So far, I’ve seen nothing in their bookstore to suggest that they do. No Windows-centric theology section, anyway.
Boyoboy! That guy is a real pr*ck! I especially thought the part when he asked the reporter if he voted for him was repulsive…saying that Alaskans who didn’t vote for him were not his “constituents”. Who represents those Alaskans who don’t support this jerk?
Another choice one was…”I’ve cooperated as much as possible through my lawyers”. I think that pretty much says he has refused to speak IN-PERSON to the prosecutors. Sounds as if he’s plead the Fifth (is that Constitutional Right still applicable?).
Expect an indictment soon…or a resignation so he can spend more time with his family!
I know this isn’t you, but it needs to be in block-quote form.
Wow.
John Glenn?
like the bell groove, mildly indifferent to the whirling dervish. kept waiting for a Wilco song to break out.
Update from Scott Horton on the Governor Don Siegleman story @ Harper’s Magazine:
Thanks Muzzy.. Am listening to your link now.
Agreed.. The PUGs are going to have to get really nasty and stay that way.. It’s all they have in campaign strategy. Aside from caging and occupational/Iranian/Pakistani escalation that is.. Remember KO this evening covering Billo’s use of the word Lynching. It’s starting now.
Oil is over $100 a barrel
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20…..lasiaprice
Holy Crap! Isn’t Karl involved?
they’ve got oil of us over a barrel.
I hope he doesn’t resign. At least not until maybe two weeks before the election. Too much of a chance that if he DOES resign, somebody not nearly as nuts will be appointed, and win in this Red state.
And there are some people who believe that actors make up everything they say in the movies.
“Bamboozled”? Copyrighted. Can’t say it.
“The One”? Copyrighted. I think the Scientologists own that one.
Seriously. Does anyone think that every thought, every idea that comes from Obama’s mouth is orginal? There are themes and ideas that recur over and over again in American political and cultural life. I don’t especially care whether or not Onama writes every word of his speeches or whether he and his speech writers dive into Axelrod’s clip file to find resonant themes and phrases. It’s the purpose to which they’re put. The politics they are meant to serve that matters.
Or does everybodt think JFK (or Ted Sorensen, for that matter) who came up with “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”?
Nahant – would you like your #54 to be put in quotes from the phrase “I give you a new commandment” to the end?
From what I have read YES… and hopefully it will lead to his investigation and prosecution for using the justice department for political purposes.
If any one has earned some jail time Karl has..
“The bribery charge rose out of Siegelman’s appointment of Richard Scrushy to the Alabama hospital regulatory board, a non-paying position that Scrusky had held under two previous governors. The appointment followed Scrushy’s donation of a half million dollars to a Siegelman foundation and gained Siegelman no financial advantage whatever. Of course, political favors to donors is routine in both state an federal government, as numerous ambassadorial appointments will testify. Moreover, clearly illegal campaign contributions were received by Alabama Republican Senator Jeff Sessions and Federal Judge William Pryor, who have not been investigated much less prosecuted. “
“Enter Bill Canary, Republican kingmaker, friend and confidant of Karl Rove, campaign advisor to William Pryor and Bob Riley, and, not coincidentally, husband of U.S. Attorney, Leura Canary. It was Mrs. Canary, along with U.S. Attorney Alice Martin, who brought the case against Siegelman.
Enter next, Dana Jill Simpson, a rare and endangered political animal: a republican political operative with a conscience and an allegiance to the rule of law that trumps partisan loyalty. As Scott Horton reports, in a sworn affidavit Ms. Simpson, Riley’s campaign attorney,
provide[d] a detailed specific account of what transpired, starting with [Bill] Canary’s statement “not to worry about Don Siegelman that ‘his girls would take care of him.’” Then Riley’s son asked Canary if he was sure that Siegelman would be “taken care of,” and Canary told him not to worry that he had already gotten it worked out with Karl and Karl had spoken with the Department of Justice and the Department of Justice was already pursuing Don Siegelman.” “His girls” were Canary’s wife Leura Canary, who as U.S. Attorney in the Middle District of Alabama, did in fact start the investigation, only dropping off when objections were raised by Governor Siegelman’s counsel due to her obvious political bias and the U.S. Attorney in Birmingham, Alice Martin. Ms. Simpson, who gave the affidavit, is a lifelong Republican and was a worker in the Riley campaign against Siegelman, and her account has been contemporaneously corroborated.”
http://www.opednews.com/articl…..s_to_a.htm
Karl is in trouble Bwahhaha! The U.S attorney scandal has legs again.
Please it was copied from an e-mail I received..
ET – I posted this article in the newsbox earlier this evening. Same story, AP version.
Alaska congressman defends money spent on legal fees
Wednesday February 20, 2008 7:19 pm
I believe that Glenn served out his term and didn’t run again. My use of the term resignation was a bit loose. Glenn didn’t want to face the fall-out of the scandal in the next campaign. I think Alan Cranston did that as well. I recall that the individuals who lost their reelection campaigns were Pete Domenici and…gosh, can’t remember the guy. But a Republican.
The Keating 5 were pretty much a non-partisan, non-ideological assortment…liberals and conservatives and moderates…right to left. It demonstrated just how corrupt the Washington climate had become (and still is). I can’t for the life of me believe that these were the only five involved, and in fact, there were many stating that these guyts were scape-goated for actions 90% of the Senate did…and that a balanced group was “offered up” to take the heat for the whole body. Some have even suggested that these were Senators selected because they were well-liked and would survive the associations with Keating and the S&L Scandal.
Heck I know that people on the blogs and news say a lot of the things I do. I have no idea if I said it first I influence people they influence me there are only so many ways in English to say Bush is a war criminal for example.
Although the reasons why seem to grow everyday.
Yeah. One thing Young did with one of his opening statements, was to provide the perfect caption for an image Darkblack created for my blog a while back.
I’m ordering a Pizza that day!
Edward…isn’t he up for a Primary first? Or has that passed?
Writers all borrow ideas from each other, and little phrases or modes of speech. What the good ones try not to do is sound like the latest pop culture fad. The adulation that people heap on Obama, and the nonsense he repeats is just that – the latest self-help BS repackaged as a political campaign. It’s about as genuine as a bad knock-off romance novel.
Oh, and you know where that “hoodwinked” line came from? Here it is. Knew I’d seen it somewhere recently.
Cool hopefully he won’t have any cash to run again but do we have a challenger lined up?
And Shakespeare stole all his plots. The plots are not the most interesting thing about Shakespeare, but they did provide a level of familiarity for his audience that he could then play off of.
Well maybe he has Oprah’s writers writing his material
Still his speeches got McCain beat six ways to Sunday.
One of the things that the video made clear is that this is how most of Axelrod’s clients end up sounding. John Edwards sounded a lot more genuine this time out, and I think dumping Axelrod was one of the big reasons.
(according to Mike Whitney, nothing. We’re paying the banks to take their crap paper.)
THE BANKER’S MASTERPLAN: “Dump the mortgage-backed junk on Uncle Sam”
Everyone should be aware of the massive fraud that is about to be perpetrated on the nation to save a few shifty bankers from default. The basic contours of the plan was laid out in an op-ed in the New York Times last week by Howard P. Milstein, chairman of New York Private Bank and Trust. Milstein made his pitch for a bailout in an article titled “Give The Banks Some Credit”.
Milstein says:
Milstein continues:
Wait a minute. If “the government guarantees the principal of the mortgages” then there’s no risk for the banks. If that’s the case then why should they be paid anything, even the “teaser rates”. Investment is risk and risk is investment—Get used to it. What Comrade Milstein is requesting is “nationalizing” the banking system to protect his indolent friends from loss or default. This could have been written by Chairman Mao.
Milstein continues:
Unbelievable! So the bank takes NO risk on the investment but—at the same time—is allowed to add the full value of the mortgage to its capital reserves? And, Milstein doesn’t even want to reduce the value of the mortgage to current housing prices. He thinks it should be recorded at its “original value” so it can beef up the bank’s dwindling capital.
What kind of rubbish is that? Real estate prices have plummeted in the last year and (and so have subprime “structured investments”) the banks assets should reflect those losses. Tough luck, Milstein. Your buddies cooked up this scam. Now take your lumps like a man.
Milstein continues:
“By solving the bank capital crisis immediately, this strategy would ensure that fewer families would lose their homes”…blah, blah, blah. It would “be good for our economy.” Blah, blah, blah.
[snip]
But, back to Milstein. What does he want? He wants to buy back the subprime debt that was sold to gullible foreign banks “at a discount” but then record it on the banks’ balance sheets at full value.
Whoa. Now, there’s a neat trick. In other words, he wants to pay a nickel for the “debt”, but then record it as a dollar to meet his capital requirements.
Is this really how bankers think?
Oh—and by the way—he also wants the American taxpayer to guarantee the debt in case the nickel loses some of its value. Nice touch, eh? Milstein adheres to the old adage, “Privatize the profits, socialize the losses.”
Finally, Milstein adds that his only interest is his “concern for the health of the global financial system.”
Can you feel the love?
The tragedy of the stimulus charade is that some variation of Milstein’s proposal is sure to be enacted. Otherwise it wouldn’t have shown up in the NY Times. The Times frequently uses the op-ed page to put up trial balloons for changes in policy. It’s the same here. The banking establishment and the administration have finally settled on a ‘bail out plan’ and “We the People” are going to foot the bill. Congress is already on board and Bush is just a swipe-of-the-pen away from another trillion dollar giveaway to big business. The banks and money-lenders always get their pound of flesh while the rest of us get screwed. Some things never change.
I believe ET is the best man around to tell you about Diane Benson.
oh fork -
was editing a very long comment and spaced – hit submit instead of preview.
my lengthy bad.
Shakespeare could be writing his speeches with Aaron Sorkin editing them and McCain would still sound bad. Sometimes the actor really is the problem.
” The appointment followed Scrushy’s donation of a half million dollars to a Siegelman foundation and gained Siegelman no financial advantage whatever. Of course, political favors to donors is routine in both state an federal government, as numerous ambassadorial appointments will testify”
Isn’t this what John McCain is saying is legal about the favors he did in return for cash for his girlfriends clients?
There is. It is August 26. He has a challenger, Kodiak representative Gabriellre LeDoux, a fairly moderate Republican – she used to be Democrat.
She raised 4 times as much as young in the last quarter of 2007.
Speaking of John Edwards – any news out of his camp?
Popularity is neither a negative or a positive in my book. It just is. You know Groucho Marx’s old line about never joining a club that would have me as a member? That’s where I usually am.
I also don’t get to choose who agrees with me. I may doubt the quality of the thought that brings them along, but they’re still there.
And self-help? I’m as Oprah-lergic as anybody with a functioning bullshit detector, but most of what Obama is calling for is engagement. That can’t be a bad thing. If he wins, he says “hold me to it”. Hell yes. Let’s make him accountable.
True, although you can contribute to her campaign here, among other places.
I picked up Kevin Phillips’ _American Theocracy_ yesterday at B&N – couldn’t pass it up for a $4.99 remainder price! – and he has a list of all the times this has happened since the late 1960s.
Hi npb!
I hope he is home taking care of Elizabeth.
Hey ES!
That youtube was rather neat. This is the current genre i’ve been wandering around in for electronica myself recently.
Hole in the Sky–Karsh Kale
It’s intrigued my ear the first time i heard this type of fusion back in 2002, but until recently i wasn’t able to find more artists. The mix of beat schemes and the atonals just makes me intrigued even more.
Well he took a lot of them from history. But he did actually crib verses from the Bible and the Classics…which to many people indicates that Shakespeare was not Shakespeare but someone like the Duke of Worcester. After all, Shakespeare wouldn’t crib the Bible, would he…and how would he have been so well read?
But Twain wrote an essay about such theories and said “If it wasn’t Shakespeare it was another playwright and poet living at the same time who used his name.”
No, but any chance of his endorsing McCain just flew out the bedroom window…
Kirk you and Ian need to do a post on this! I think I’m paranoid sometimes but then I hear about things like this and wonder if I’m an optimist! That and I wonder if Bush and Helicopter Ben ever took econ 101. Well I also wonder what there smoking.
My view on this…if the government bails out the banks on this iut should get “fair return”. Public Housing for the homeless and poor.
I wonder where Old Lord McCain is resting his head tonight — next to Lady Vicodin, do you think?
I don’t.
Not recently. Someone over at Taylor’s noted that Obama’s been downplaying the importance of an Edwards endorsement lately, so I’m figuring either no endorsement or no endorsement for Obama. At this point, he’s out of it – no way he can get enough delegates to matter.
..and flights of wingnuts sing thee to thy rest…
Oh that’s a keeper. It’s going in my play lists now. Thanks.
I am still wondering what happens when these subprime mortgages are sold at there real value, who loses money and how? Crap this is getting complex and I am one of the early morning economic commenters here!
Stress does make cheaters run to open arms especially when their wives don’t understand!
JRE plans to be among those who fly to Chappaqua on March Fifth to give Hillary and BigDog the Unity Lecture. He’ll stay out until then, and endorse BHO if HRC won’t quit.
You’re welcome!
That’s actually a second choice of mine because the song i WANT to use hasn’t been Youtubed. It’s by the same artist though. But that one suited my purposes. ^_^ This is the stuff i throw at my audience in second life on Radio Riel. My trademark is ‘continent hopping’ when i play my freestyle sets. I’ll jump from japan, to canada, to the UK and back over to the ME(with a side trip using some South Korean pop) in one set. All depends on how i line it up. XD I can’t stay put in one genre or style, i end up wandering eventually to find a new variation or a new to me kinda sound. I like taking my audiences with me on those trips nowadays!
Kirk if you do Post this simplify for us normal people and be ready for questions, plus email me about when you plan to do a post on this.
The Subprime Primer
This explained it to me in easy terms – using flash animation!
And I’m NOT an economic commenter…
ET, I loove me my Kevin Phillips – well the post-Southern Strategy/Rethug Phillips.
I wanna read that book — good on ‘ya. I’ll keep an eye out near the remaindered bins….
_ _ _
And Things – you are too kind. I’m just (ineptly) quoting one commenter ( the FT has much more). My only contribution was the sentence at the top.
But I totally agree with wanting to read a post from Ian on this.
Night all you good firepups time for me to hit the hay… see ya all on the next late late late night!!
imagine she won’t be wanting to see either for a wrinkly long time…..
They were just starting to put it out on the shelves as remaindered yesterday at Barnes and Noble.
night nahant, glad you’re on the mend!
Any particular thing that makes you think this?
Agreed.. If my LLN selections are any indication, you can tell my taste in music wanders all over the map.
Niters nahant,
You sure? Anyone who talks economics on the anything goes late night/early morning threads in the comments is in the club we do have some great discussions:)
Trying to talk economics would take the ignorance I display in my comments to a whole new level.
That is usually when I go into hard-core lurker mode — but only to spare you all the pain…
McCain gossip stories getting well over 1,000 comments at Kos and Huffington…
Speaking of HuffPo – if I start putting bikini pictures on my blog, will more people read the political stuff?
I can tell you that dog and cat pictures don’t help very much. Seems like the pictures that have gotten the most attention lately have been of the space shuttle.
YMMV.
g’nite pups – sleep well.
wake me up
ifwhen the run on the banks starts…G’nite, kirk. Time for me to exit as well.
We won’t have to, Doc. The sounds of garage doors opening and cars burning rubber will do that for us all…
I have got to buy a burro and build a root cellar.
Good teaching tool but they forgot the part where the banks loaned the
hedgefundser idiots money to buy the subprime loans at 10 to 1 or more leverage. If the banks don’t get easy fed loans then the hedges will go under as the banks ask for their cash but the hedges nonperforming loans don’t produce.Good Night Kirk talk to Ian about this please.
Then ask questions there is no such thing as a bad question, heck I display my ignorance all the time hoping for answers I’m here to learn as well as sound off.
Learning makes my sounding off better:)
I’m wondering exactly how and for how much the taxpayers are on the hook for this.
I couldn’t get the subprimer page to work.. Perhaps Firefox is blocking something. Am to tired to fiddle with it now.
Sure enjoyed the thread tonight..
G’ night all fabulous firedogs.
nite eureka
Good Night Eureka
Goodnight Eureka.
I think it is on youtube. Search “subprime primer” when yer eyelids are not so heavy.
Ha Bet McCain was hoping that the story would go away but the morning people and day people I’m sure will push those numbers even higher bwahhahaha!
Morning, everyone…
This is a band I’ve just heard of recently: Dengue Fever
Please don’t ask:
The McCain story will not go away…We’re leaving it alone at BBC World Service for now. The editors have decided to let the NYTimes have its run at it, since it broke the story…Later on though, they might release some nuggets…
gonna scram
nite pups
So digby directed me to a blog with some good theories on the McCain Hullaballoo. (Get it – digby – hullaballoo)
Most interesting, Huckabee sent out a mailer about the McCain story 96 minutes after the NYT story was posted… …someone was well prepared…
McCain story in The NYTimes first edition today (to be at newsstands in Manhattan at about 5 AM ET). New material that did not appear in the website version posted last night:
1,763 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Biodun and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
“The McCain story will not go away…”
Please tell me that more’n the BBC have this story cequed up and ready ta go…I been smellin’ a ratfuck since the thing broke. Split in the oligarchy maybe?
It sure did get Michelle Obama offa the front pages!
KEEP THE FAITH AND WATCH THE RATS TAKE OFF WITH THE LIFEJACKETS!!
There’s also new material in the following:
(Same NYTimes link as 151.)
Let the fun begin today. NBC’s The Today Show will lead with it. MSNBC’s Morning Joe will also lead with it.
Morning Norske—
Yep. The sh*t’s gonna hit the fan on this one big time for the rest of the week…How are things in the St-Croix River valley this morn?
1,763 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
“…Mr. McCain and Ms. Iseman attended a small fund raising dinner with several clients at the Miami area home of a cruise line executive…”
Oh my…that wouldn’t be a cruise line with which Jack Abramoff got all tangled up with mafia bagmen, would it? Holy Jesus, maybe this thing won’t go away!!
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE POPCORN…BUTTERED PLEASE!!
Yes it would be…You got that right.
Watch the butter – it’s bad for yer heart.
