MSNBC/NBC has big problems. They scapegoat Shuster when Matthews does far worse. He has some form of ADD which compels him to be rude in general to all his guests. He has a touch of misogyny, patronizes his own wife by calling her “my queen”, a big mouth, spits when he speaks and is a general boar.

Scarborough is just as bad. As is Tucker Carlson. Tim Russert is overblown and seems constipated. And David Gregory and Brian Williams believe their own publicists. The only commentator worth his weight in gold is Keith Olbermann.

Dr. Murphy, do you think Matthews’ diabetes is the source of his insane outbursts? Is there some chemical reaction going on? Could we be seeing the onset of a diabetic coma meltdown?

Matthews is old-fashioned, and he doesn’t realize it. He probably thinks feminism is a passing fad, and that his sexism is grounded in real life observation. He’s extremely vain about what he knows. It just doesn’t occur to him that he could be wrong about something so fundamental.

Kurtz is like him. I can just hear them commiserating with each other while the bartender sets up another round. They’re smart enough not to refer to women as broads, but that’s where they are coming from.

I actually thought Matthews has been quite a bit better since his apology. I mean he’s still quirky, but I hadn’t noticed the misogyny or anti-Clinton bias so much. A also thought the Dan Abrams show has almost become fair in comparing truth-fairness in campaigns. Like someone else mentioned, I’ve been a little disappointed in Keith, because it seems obvious he favors Obama over Clinton.

I was surprised the other night, that the most unfair and ridiculous statement I heard came from Tom Brokaw. When Clinton was speaking in El Paso, after Obama had swept the VA, MD, and DC primaries, she opened her speach by referring to the ”too much hat and too few cattle” saying and then saying, ”after 7 years of Gearge Bush, it’s obvious, we need a lot more cattle.” Brokow said, as if it were fact, that she came within a hairs breath of saying Obama, stopped herself, and referred to Bush. It was absurd of him to lay his own misperception on her.
