Why aren’t we using the term “Bush Republican” over and over and over and bashing Repugs with that label? That would allow some of the less wiggy to disassociate themselves from the lunatics and allow us to pigeon hole them as the narrow minded bigots they are.

I have one suggestion for JoeL:

Let the door hit you on the way out, hard enough to bounce you a couple of blocks down the street. And don’t come back whining to us about your reception over there.

(I see Dangerstein still thinks of himself as a Dem strategist. How should we disabuse him of that notion?)

Hey, thanks, Doc. Left for a while and when I got back, the party had moved elsewhere.

Plus, the above description of Webb’s son lists him as a Fallujah vet. technically anyone who served in or near there could be a Fallujah vet but he wasn’t there in the battle of Fallujah.

The implication is that those who weren’t did not rate their service quite as highly. Those who take greater risks, sacrifice more, and see those making high sacrifices can be predicted to respond strongly to statements about the value or justification of their service defensively.

Very sticky, they love to characterize anti-war vets as REMF’s. It’s a really thin line to walk since probably 75% of Nam vets were in support roles. It’s not an easy thing to look back on what the grunts went through and conclude it was in vain.

One reason I didn’t throw my medals at Dewey Canyon is because all I have are the standard “show up” bullshit and I did not feel that they deserved to be up their among the purple hearts and other combat awards. It’s also the case that the military fosters inter-service and inter-unit rivalry. I had a buddy who was a grunt with the herd and he didn’t think anyone who wasn’t in his bat was worth a shit.
