Yeah that’s it. Or perhaps it’s because Clinton has the skeletons of Frank Giustra, Denise Rich, Norman Hsu, Aaron Tonken, Peter F. Paul, Sant S. Chatwal, the IPA, Yah Lin Trie, John Huang, James Riady, Johnny Chung, Roger Tamraz, Jeffrey Epstein, John K.H. Lee, Pauline Kanchanalak, Ng Lap Seng, Abdul Rehman Jinnah, Ron Burkle, and Vin Gupta in her closet.

Why did both the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times endorse him? One did say he needed to come a bit more clean on this than he has, but they said they’ve known him for a long time and wholeheartedly endorse him.

This is not comparable. The Senator represented the non profit that was the co general partner in a LIHTC limited partnership. The firm he worked for represented Rezko and a number of non profits in joint ventures. The firm had a responsibility to structure the deals so that the reserves were protected, this is completely different from what you are talking about with Walker. Walker deserves, as all defendants to be represented. The question is if the firm represented the non profit and the for profit co general partner. And how could Senator Obama claim he knew nothing about the conditions.
Typically, the City would have submitted various letters of default to the developer and the law firm would have had to respond or have been notified by the non profit at least.

What could the Senator have done? What could the firm have done? Lots, to protect the affordable housing but to say, they did not know, is not the same as some generic tenant complaining to Sacramento.

“There was a slight hitch in that Obama could not quite afford the asking price for the house which was situated on a large lot. According to MyDD, Michelle Obama used her position on the Chicago Landmarks Commission to facilitate the subdivision of the lot.”

This is a flat out lie. Where did it come from? The realtor was on NBC News pointing out that the sellers listed the properties separately when they were first listed for sail.

As I go through this post more, it’s a wreck. It ignores the actual reporting on it by the Chicago papers and makes accusations that haven’t been made by anyone who has followed the situation. I would strongly suggest going through the investigative reporting on this story and issues several corrections.

I get it. Right out of law school I took a job at the firm of Morrison & Foerster, a downtown San Francisco corporate law firm. In the aftermath of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, a partner in that firm, James Brosnahan, defended former “Taliban member” John Walker Lind. It appears by your logic that I’m suspiciously mixed up with terrorism in Afghanistan.

While at that firm I was a small cog in a large defense mechanism that defended officers and directors of companies that were being sued for securities fraud. I guess that makes me a corporate lackey by implication, though I hated the job and was doing it because MoFo was the least objectionable of firms that could pay me the money I needed to pay off my exhorbitant student loan debt. We all know, after all, that lawyers are sympathetic to and responsible for the things their clients hired them to defend.

On another note, also while at MoFo, I did a lot of pro bono work for the local poverty legal services clinic. Much of that work was for clients who were being victimized by slum lords. Some of the conditions were horrible, but the focus of any complaints of that kind went to the San Francisco Superior Court, or to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. No one ever thought of calling people in Sacramento about lack of heat or mouse droppings in a Mission District apartment.

Your post is reminiscent of the New York Times’s reporting on Wen Ho Lee and Whitewater.

I have been a fan of your writing for a long time. What you wrote here is beneath you.

Also, I’ve wondered how the Rezko case and Fitz’s involvement happened start right now, in the midst of the most crucial time for Obama’s campaign.

Anyone know if there’s a simple explanation for this coincidence? Just honestly curious.

The first indictment was nearly 2 years ago. The investigations stem from behavior from 2003 to 2005 tied to the Blagojevich administration in Illinois.
