TSF!
Hi, TeddySanFran! 350 days of W left.
Quite an array of mugs up there…
John McStain can attract….ALL THE BATSHIT insane people
Pass the popcorn…
Well, some of them REEEELY love Ron Paul…
People actually like Huckabee, but he just gets labeled as a “spoiler”…ridiculous. He is popular. Why can’t they just be honest.
butter?
The media? Be honest? I don’t think they remember how…
this morning I drove through several towns and saw one Hillary sign and a bunch of Ron Paul signs and nothing else. Strange.
Maybe the Pukes have woken up to the Neocons….Romney being supported by the Cheneys.
I just don’t get the McCain thing.
just got home from voting in my very R precinct here in SoCal…. very big turnout… lots and lots of women… my own calc sez that the women I know are voting Hillary about 9 to 1…
Herb-seasoned sea salt?
((( TSF )))
… anythin’ interesting going on tonight ?!! *g*
Just taking a sample from my classes (HS Seniors in NE WI) – any Republicans are almost all voting for Huckabee or Paul. McCain is too old for them. Romney is too plastic for them.
Obama dominates the Dems, although Edwards supporters are fishing for someone to support now.
Of course, the media blitz hasn’t started yet, I’m trying to make them educated before the shiny objects detracts them. I tell them I don’t care who they vote for as long as they can tell me why.
Here in TX too. They are the only signs I’ve seen outside of Austin….but, he doesn’t exist…he’s a hologram. They are really, really scared of Ron Paul.
There’s a Willard sign up in my neighborhood. It’s a heavily republic area but I still had to scratch my head on that one. Guess it’s better than Crazy Train.
Out of the mouths of children… So they’re able to recognize an Animatronic robot when they see one. I’m encouraged.
comin’ up!
Oh, I was offering that to add to your butter! Here — help yourself…
I’ll be glad to see the Ron Paul signs come down in my town. They have been up for a very long time.
Petrocelli, stick around! The fun’s just begun. anything happening…
I’m in PA and I see no signs, except once I saw a bumper sticker for Ron Paul
Did Clinton win OK?
I’m having Poppycock … seems appropriate for tonight … *g*
Ron Paul signs everywhere here in Austin.
Millineryman!
how was your voting experience?
I project Ron Paul for Texas…in March.
((((( Loo Hoo )))))
Are you havin’ fun ?
When will Tweety start his “she dint win enough votes tonight” rambling ?
Anybody seen Clinton, Obama, Romney, McCain signs?
Maybe Paul is the sign guy.
Ron Paul signs are all over Seattle, a few Hilary,Obama signs but Ron wins 10 to 1.
Hey, Jane is streaming on the young turks upstairs!
Threads everywhere!
Let’s not forget it’s Fat Tuesday as well.
And for those looking for yet another good political results and polling website – the included link was veru good in 2004 and hasn’t been too shabby so far in 2008.
One of my few big indulgences is “fleur de sel,” from France. I almost never use salt, but when I do it’s got to be fabulous.
Tweety already got started tonight. His observation? That the democratic party is FEMININE. Guy’s gotta go.
Happy Pancake Tuesday, everybody !
So the flood of closing polls is on the hour?
way overdue
Only Romney and Paul in these parts. Very few bumper stickers.
Poor Tweety … all his man crushes are out of the race … :(
We don’t vote for another two months. ;-(
and Merry Maple Syrup to you!
I thought the McCain camp was near broke. He is polluting the air waves thick here in L.A.($$big buck market) ..making it all the harder to find fresh air. help!
lamentable isn’t it?
What that i could eat one of those right now, Petro. In a few more days, maybe. For now, i’m accomplished with the chicken soup. I’ll get a paczi on the next day or so. When i can actually eat one!
This poll watching is amusing though.
It’s weird here. Usually every lawn, roadside, tree, lightpost, etc., etc., is covered with signs. For this primary, almost nothing. Maybe the signs will come out for the general… It may indicate how undecided the state has been.
My house voted for Obama. Since I am the only one here at the moment I got to decide that myself. Wished Edwards had still been in the race.
Quick and easy, I went after work. I usually go before work to ensure that I get to vote in the event of traffic, or deadline etc.
I swore I wasn’t going to vote this weekend, yet I felt that I had to. I voted for Obama, intuitively it felt right. I don’t see myself becoming an advocate for him however. I just made peace with the fact it was him or Hillary, and I went with my gut feeling.

sufilizard says in the last thread—-
Yes, Barks is just amazing! He did a reading back in college and I got to spend a little time talking to him. I’ve also got a couple of cassette tapes (this was back in the early 90’s) of both him and Robert Bly reading Rumi poetry with some fantastic middle eastern musicians playing in the background.
Bly introduced me to Rumi, but I think Barks does the best translations.

sufilizard-
this is probably epu’d, but that was on pbs years ago, and i have been trying to get a copy of it ever since………..i gave my copy of it to gregory hines…….yes, really…….and i no longer have a copy, it was wonderful………the most memorable thing i have ever seen on tv.
and HI EVERYONE!!!!!!!!! i still don’t have the safari quitting on me issues ironed out, so haven’t been on, someone offered to help, but haven’t had the time to take him up on it, i will soon………
i can sign on, download the page quickly, then disconnect before it quits on me, is touchy…….so, hard to comment……….love you all
am now going on a beer run-i get one tv station-pbs, and they are doing a run-down of the results at 10pm, but my reception went kaput…………i can’t believe it………the ONE night i want tv, so i’ll be back…….and i have a really bad sneezing cold, so, i’m feeling a little cursed right now…….no bother, there’s ways around it.
so, i’ll be lurking, too hard to comment………..you all are as witty as ever, and i miss you.
love,
dayna
Chicken soup has magical healing powers. Hope it works for you, and that you feel better soon. (((alias)))
Lotsa people up here with horrible colds too … sometimes lasting a month …
For my friends who keep Lent, today is a very important day … also called Shrove Tuesday.
*waving to dayna*
I’m on a Mac too, but I’m not having any trouble with Safari. You might try downloading Firefox, it’s free and handles things better than Safari often times.
I second that … Firefox is waaay better than Safari.
The reason why i picked it up is that we’ve been handing out antibiotics like crazy at work. It’s been taking down whole families! I just happen to be the one who gets slammed with it this time at work. Worst bout in years, for me.
Yeah, I was traveling all last week and came home with a nasty cold. Spending 15 hours in Ohare probably didn’t help that situation out. So far chicken soup hasn’t helped this one. Neither did the turkey barley soup we had at work today.
And yes, for those who don’t know, i work in a pharmacy. Pharmacy tech to be exact, and though most of us are pretty well covered with immunities? We can and do get slammed pretty hard. I’ve been avoiding antibiotics but i may end up getting them if this keeps up. Asthma and a URI don’t mix too well.
When chicken soup fails sometimes I’ve been known to resort to hot tea with honey and bourbon. That’s the really big guns, though…
pick up some probiotics at the health food store to kick start your tummy
I have firefox freeze on me about 3-4 times a week at firedoglake, due to what appears to be a bug in the advertising code. Also on a Mac, seems to happen most often with posts that are about 4 behind the most current one.
dmac, email me re barks vid markann at hotmail
I hear you! I work for ENT docs, and we’re slammed.
Lots of people up here use ColdFX … it really works well.
My secret weapon is 1/2 tsp Turmeric in 1/2 cup of water, bring to a boil and drink as hot as possible, 3x a day. It makes the mouth yellow, but is an excellent remedy.
((((( alias )))))
I think it gets worse when it gets all warm like thins and then turns back cold.
I never have a problem here with FireFox on my Mac. Just my $.02
It also doesn’t help that when it’s cold people turn up the heat to 85 and when it’s hot they turn the air conditioning down to 62. Makes me NUTS! We set our thermostat at 68 in the winter and 78 in the summer and almost never get sick.
I’ve had luck with a shot of warm honey with about a tablespoon of cinnamon in it.
Anyone notice that on the MSNBC BSI Credit company advert they have removed the part where the African American woman says “my mom saw an Ophra show”?
Richardson is letting his freak flag fly!
Just my $0.02 on the election thing. I was a Kucinich/Edwards fan myself so now I’m resigned to choosing a lesser evil candidate.
But from some anecdotal evidence I’d have to say I think Obama is our best shot for winning the general election. My wife’s extended family tends to lean Democratic with one branch a bit libertarian. My extended family tends to be very Republican.
Everyone, with the possible exception of my dad, would consider voting for Obama. Less than half would consider voting for Hillary.
Just FYI.
It works for him!
Oh, Tweety is amazed that Democrats go to college… JEEBUS…
raven and margot—left you a message at 210 last thread, now off to get my beer, gonna be a late night…….ha………
scanned comments,
will read them better when i get back
hi teddy!!!!!!!!!!!!
good job, loved the garage stories………
in cincinnati where i used to live, the polling places were in the neighborhoods, too……..
here, it is at the township garage……….athens county, ohio……..a lot of the polling places are in the township garages..
and republican and democrat, doesn’t matter, everyone chats and jives and gets along……..
one set of best friends are devout republicans, another devout democrats………i still can’t figure it out.
on the local radio here, HUGE ron paul support………HUGE.
reactionists, highly independent appalachians.
ok, off to get my beer. you’d think i would have been prepared………..it’s ok, no traffic here, bet it takes 5 minutes tops. one good thing about being in an unpopulated area on the edge of a college town.
d
I hear if you have connections and money, they’ll let almost anybody it to some schools…
Had to chuckle to myself this morning. Guy that graduated last year was doing the morning news on the radio today. When talking about the elections today, he said Obama & Clinton for the Democrats and McCain & Paul, among others, for the Republicans.
Well, that does explain W’s MBA (remember when he was going to be the “run the country like a business” president?)….
Woof! Was he maybe letting a bit of himself out?!
Except he forgot to mention that he would run it like Ford Motor Company, not IBM …
[slaps forehead] so THAT’S what I misunderstood…
i saw cold remedies spinning by as i submitted my comment
if you have phlem do this—–
cloves—-8 or 10 of them
boil one mug and a half of water with them
boil it down to one mug-which is basically when the cloves swell…….takes that long.
swiftly pour water into mug to get oils floating in it to land in mug
add tea bag
honey if you wish, you will wish, cuz it tastes nasty
will break up the phlem in your chest.
best done with a towel over your head, inhale the steam, and sip very hot–which i hate, cuz i love everything room temperature…….
it really works, from my pennsylvania dutch, yes, the real kind, grandma……..
verified through all of the victims i made do it over the years and me.
ok, i’m really outta here, be back soon.
(((dmac)))!!
((((( dmac )))))
Also, gargling with very warm salt water 3x daily …
Tonight’s presentation of “Politics and Potions” brought to you by … *g*
If Ron Paul won the GOP nomination, would it be reported???
I just keep being gobsmacked by what an idiot Tweety is.
Thanks guys.
Nah, too dangerous.
Yeah, but he has competition … PumpkinHead, F*cker, JoeScar, …
Oh Thank God !
