Humph. Can’t stand deNiro. He owns an historic house about 2-1/2 miles as the crow flies from mine. Rumor has it he’s spent $23 million on it. But won’t give a penney to the two local causes I work on (higher ed & historic preservation).

My point about “rights” violations is that there should be no statute of limitations.

Doesn’t matter when it is discovered. If someone discriminated they should be held accountable.

OT:

Turkish fighter jets bombed targets in northern Iraq on Monday, the Turkish military said, the fifth major strike against Kurdish rebels this year.

In a statement posted on its Web site, the Turkish military said it had struck 70 targets in the Avashin and Harkuk districts in a 12-hour bombing run that began at 3 a.m. The military did not give details on damage or deaths.

It said that the targets were in 11 different places in the area where it bombed.

Turkey has been waging a bombing campaign against Kurdish militant targets in northern Iraq since December, involving both planes and artillery, in an American-sanctioned effort to weaken the Kurdish guerrilla group that hides there.

Lovely

Nan,
Thanks for keeping disability issues on the table when considering civil liberties issues.

The Supreme Court has several times in recent years misread Congressional intent on disability issues and has, I believe, interpreted the ADA in shallow and reactionary ways. How can we educate the SCOTUS about these issues?

I have been working in disability and rehabilitation research for about 20 years, and have a few disabilities myself, just to keep my humble :-)

Bob in HI

The point is, employees in the company really just don’t know all the stuff that goes on. They are mostly too busy getting their work done. I had an inside view because I had the responsibility of buildiing an organization, from top to bottom. The top was mostly decided by the VC firm. That’s why one cannot expect an employee to know if her salary is parady with others in the company with similar responsibilities. Employees just don’t know so it it unfair to put the onus on them to know within a limited period of time.
