However, Mitt “Chameleon” Romney has shown himself to be infinitely adaptable.

Chris Matthews remarked (in his uniquely admirable way) that Mitt has been very good at “adapting to the marketplace” in various states, e.g. MI and FL. ONly Tweety would refer to such political behavior as adapting to the marketplace. I can’t make this stuff up.

“It will be necessary to for the D to get a large majority of the registered independents. For that to happen, I think Obama will need to be the nominee instead of Clinton.” Jim White

I think so too. Also, if it comes down to Clinton vs. McCain, not much of a choice…more war vs. more war?

DENVER (AP) — Democrat John Edwards is exiting the presidential race Wednesday, ending a scrappy underdog bid in which he steered his rivals toward progressive ideals while grappling with family hardship that roused voters’ sympathies but never diverted his campaign, The Associated Press has learned.

Yeah, I know he likes McCain. I really don’t understand the guy. On some level, he’s like a naive kid. He rambles, seems to take everything literally and try to base his understanding on his interpretation of some old movie situation.

Bulletin: Wife just said C-Span said Edwards to withdraw at 1:00 O’clock.

Chris Matthews did one of his seemingly unintenional torpedo jobs on McCain last night. He started off saying something like, ” …as tired as he is, it will be interesting to see if he can make it through Super Tuesday and to the convention.” Then he rambled on to compare “dead man walking” McCain to the obviously fit and healthy Romney.

Funny thing is, he likes John McCain. He told John McCain, “You know you’re in my heart!” the other night, and he’s had him on as guest and I get the feeling he really likes him, even though Tweety is against the war and McCain is a hawk.

G’morning, Scarecrow and pups. About the Republican VP thingie? There’s a very strong and real chance that McCain’s VP pick will be Minnesota’s own Tim Pawlenty. That has been on the radar for more than two years. Pawlenty is young(er), good-looking in a Romney-esque way, a party loyalist, and acolyte of Bush with mentorship (confirmed) by Cheney and Rove. Pawlenty was pulled from running for U.S. Senate when Norm Colemeleon ran, and Timmer was promised much for bailing on that. He has spent an inordinate amount of time in D.C.
