However, Mitt “Chameleon” Romney has shown himself to be infinitely adaptable.

Pawlenty is young(er), good-looking in a Romney-esque way, a party loyalist, and acolyte of Bush with mentorship (confirmed) by Cheney and Rove. Pawlenty was pulled from running for U.S. Senate when Norm Colemeleon ran, and Timmer was promised much for bailing on that.
