‘allo again – still here…
Rudy, viable.
Channel-surfing on the radio this afternoon, I came across Rush going after McCain. Before I could switch the station, he went to a commercial break, and a Ron Paul for President ad came on.
I’m assuming it was a local buy for KC, not a national ad — but I’m guessing that the RonPaulians aren’t going to let a little thing like fifth place in Florida stop them now.
He’s tan, he’s fit, he’s…. probably on the way out…
Peterr, they feel almost like a cult, don’t they? True believers…
So is Huck finished? I think I read somewhere that he was a tad short on money.
Florida Fun Facts:
Florida had more than 2 percent of its households entering some stage of foreclosure in 2007, with a total of 279,325 foreclosure filings on 165,291 properties — more than twice the number of filings reported in 2006. Foreclosure filings in Florida were up 275 percent in December compared to the same month the previous year, and in the fourth quarter, the total was 211 percent higher than the previous year.
he’s probably got more $$ in the bank than the Maverick/
Wonder if Judy will leave Rudy.
I wish they would just go ahead and cancel school for tomorrow already. I hate having to wait until the morning. That way I would know I could watch more results stuff and stay up for late-night :)
Why are we only getting the GOP results?
I know all about the DNC stuff, but over a million Democrats will have voted in Florida. It seems knowing how they voted would at least be of interest.
too bad the extra-marital, fornicating, adulterating, bribe taking fireman murdering drag queen won’t be their candidate
he would fit in much better then either mccain or mutt…and be more beatable then either
ah me
Hillary now on the teevee celebrating her win of – well – nothing whatsoever.
But she looks mahvelous…
“We’re gonna party like it’s (sometime before the DNC invalidated this vote)(But we won big, eh?”)
Huck is broke
McCain is broke
Rudy can earn some fast in Times Square if he wants to stay in the race after today.
Willard is broke except for what he wants to throw in
Paul has tons of cash.
Timmeh was talking about this earlier tonight.
Have any repubs been able to raise enough money? Mitt’s using his own. The only one with enough donors is Ron Paul.
Awwww… and they rhyme so sweetly…
back to the crypt
Meanwhile…Bob Casey is going all napalm on W for the most recent signing statement:
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/…..statement/
They’ve been showing the victory party for Hill, complete with Nelson, Alcee Hastings, and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. Which of these 4 is not like the other? Or not.
Mittsolini may not win tonight, but he’s Cheenee’s annointed one…
The money issue is why Romney scares me.
There is a certain detachment from reality about them at times. Of course, the same could be said about the supporters of the other GOP candidates.
It’s that well-known liberal bias of reality that does it.
bye bye rudy
Yup…and the big family…and Blackwater…and Liz Cheney…
Not a good sign.
that REALLY REALLY pissed me off too
Senator Clinton. FYI only. I prefer Obama to you.
Thank Goddess!!
From a commenter at the News Press Blog (Naples area)
No problem here but Sun Sentinel on the other coast is reporting Independents are being allowed to vote at least in Coral Springs so I am wondering if other places are breaking the law and allowing Independents and who ever to vote in a supposedly closed primary ?
Good one. Centrist Republican enablers all.
arghhhhhhhhhhh addington will haunt us for 20 years
“The Potemkin Village of victory celebrations.” Damn, that’s good!
If Mr. 911 drops out after Florida what are the odds that Tweety will still say that he has a chance at the nomination? I mean, his possbile third place finish here makes him so much more electable than HRC or Obama.
How much money does Willard have?
If Rudy drops out tomorrow, McCain will see a spike in donations.
So is Huck finished?
Not at all. He’s a very viable V.P. candidate for the man (Romney?) looking to hang on to the nutty-Christian vote.
I can’t figure out whether, if McCain wins, Lieberman brings anything, or whether Huck is a more pragmatic choice.
The republicans could be in self destruct mode. That would be lovely. Then the dems will be bought by the corporations presto!
Bob Casey is alive!?
I am a long way from FL but isn’t there some statewide proposition on the ballot too?
While the country is all eat up over the E-conomy, and the endless elections from hell, W is conjuring up all kinds of fuckery.
Florida also was voting on other measures, including a statewide property tax issue. Independents are allowed to vote on those things, but not in the closed party races.
Given some of the stories about FL election judges today, it sounds like some of them may not know that.
In response to kiddo @ 182
huffpo has pics of her wildly clapping WHEN CHIMPIE mentioned the surge last evening
—–
hope ya dont mind i brought this up from below
ps Obama did NOT clap
Oh God, Mrs. Greenspan trying out her newfound sense of humor …
Would it be Debbie Wasserman-Schultz?
I can’t even say something costic about Rudy. He’s just too pathetic. That makes him a perfect candidate for an appointed position. A nice way to put it is odd strategy. I think Rudy is too soft and likes comfort. Will his wife leave him?
Tsk, tsk, tsk. You forgot that it’s all good for Republicans, always, all the time…
A property tax amendment via Charlie Crist.
The money issue is why Romney scares me.
au contraire, the money is what keeps Romney in, and imo, he’s *much* more easily beatable than is St. John McCain.
Tweetz was gelded i swarze
Roodi’s gonna bail tonight… and go after more 911 moolah.
so long Rudy. don’t let the war hit you in the a** on the way out.
Hillary is a centrist Republican? Come on.
LMAO!!!! she wanted the POWEERRRRRR!!!
Breaking: Rudy expected to speak at 9:11.
Former Dem ND governor George Sinner [I know, the jokes write themselves around here…] and his wife Jane have endorsed Hillary with these words, per the AP:
Interesting turn of phrase, Janey ol’ girl….
Thompson (14,652) and Hunter (1,593) are still getting votes. Did no one tell Florida they both have dropped out… or is this the early voting factor?
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/20…../state/#FL
Could the next president appoint him to be the official DOJ waterboarding test subject? Gotta protect the nation, don’t you know, and Rudy would do anything to protect the nation.
Hi all. Every Republican I know voting for Romney is doing it ’cause Rush told them to.
Abner Louima didn’t think so. Broom handle up yer a** kinda feels…hard.
lmao
How come Tim Mahoney isn’t around?
If you want a preview of what Super Tuesday is going to look like, this is it.
Hillary the clear winner among the Dems and McCain & Romney fighting it out among the Repugs.
((((( ccmask )))))
Snort!! That about says it all.
Rudy’s strategy is working!
Light reading from Matt Taibbi
In Barack Obama versus Hillary Clinton, we’ve basically got Kennedy-Nixon redux, and I mean that in the most negative possible sense for both of them — a pair of superficial, posturing conservatives selling highly similar political packages using different emotional strategies. Obama is selling free trade and employer-based health care and an unclear Iraqi exit strategy using looks, charisma and optimism, while Hillary is selling much the same using hard, cold reality, “prose not poetry,” managerial competence over “vision.”
You neglected the required spew alert…
so who does the drag queen give his delegates and support to?
I am guessing the huck just to help muck it up
We now have one Obama tv ad to Hillary’s five here in California. Just started this week. Hillary has an energy plan for billions and billions and Obama’s ad is inspirational (hot air).
We really need a better energy system than fuel. 101 is shut down in both directions from an overturned fuel tanker which spilled tons of fuel that ran into the creeks and the bird sanctuary. Guess we get to pay the cleanup bill and spend hundreds of hours into saving the birds and wildlife. The fuel company will need years to study what happened.
(Lisa smacking her hear) Oh yeah. Forgot about that.
That..is hilarious!
Casey! I’m impressed, he’s such a milquetoast
I think that the absentee ballots, cast long before Ghouli sank, will provide at least a fairly solid third. Will that be enough to keep him around? dunno – I can’t think in the same way that a monomaniacal presidential candidate might think…
Hillary is sounding shrill again. I like what she’s saying, but her anxiety shows when she uses this voice.
Marion–I swear it said he will speak at 9:00, but they may run late just for him :))
Clinton 2.0 is doing a masterful job at playing politics with FL… but that’s the problem with our current political system as it is. She’s talking now and for her to be claiming this as a victory just leaves a bad taste in my mouth… but man, as a tactical political campaign, they are good. Your former Repub strategist, Mr. Purple
Really ? Obama’s $$$ will buy lots of ad space …
Early voting? Some of these people voted before Christmas…
I don’t care who it is…(I do have a preference..but)…but I want the
GestapoPukes voted out and into oblivion..BTW, Quaker Girl, I apologize for being snippy earlier. It’s just that so many of us here in FL have worked so hard and constantly get lumped in with the troglodytes and throwbacks when people go “Flori-duh” and similar.
{{{Quaker Girl}}}
that be his son
Well, her campaign never contacted me to help her with that …
She’s on the verge of a Dean moment…that’s why you have a microphone Hill.
By this time people have pretty much made up their minds. There will be movements at the margins but Hillary has large leads in almost all of the large states.
One voter was told by poll workers there was no Democratic primary today
By Robert Perez
Sentinel Staff Writer
January 29 2008, 2:58 PM EST
On Florida Primary day, voters are reporting problems across Central Florida from Daytona Beach to Hunter’s Creek. Among the precincts experiencing glitches was one in Orange County where voters were told by poll workers early on there was no Democratic primary today.
The complete article can be viewed at:
http://www.orlandosentinel.com…..5381.story
IMHO Hillary won Florida because of early voting.
According to the teevee she won the late deciders too.
not sure if this FL-SOS results site has been posted here. It shows different totals – with Mitt having a slight lead.
http://enight.dos.state.fl.us/
plenty of retirees imo
At the Miami Herald blog, from a commenter:
I’m sending this to BarackObama.com. The same happened to me and my wife. This is a corrupt state. We talk about bringing down Cuba, but today, it felt like a Communist regime at the voter station. Henry, Miami-Dade.
I didn’t see or hear of any problems voting in the Tampa Bay area.
I think it will be interesting in both parties to see the breakdown of votes cast in advance v. today … 400,000 cast on the D side before today is a lot of early voting!
No. My wording was awkward. She and Bill Nelson are enablers of Republican policy.
No harm done. I truly understand. It is unfair to all of you who give your all only to hit that wall, again. I do the same thing so I truly respect your commitment. Silence won’t weaken the wall. With enough pushing at it, it will fall:))
Camel…straw…back…
that be his son
That’s who I was referring to. :) I voted him into office in 2006 and haven’t heard from him since.
it is so very corrupt maddening place imo
What is the McCain Lieberman bill I keep hearing so much about. Any one have a real quick synopsis? (I realize the google and wikipedia exist….)
Don’t let Bush get away with this lie:
http://www.crooksandliars.com/…..ghanistan/
Me either Ron. Highlands County has paper ballots and there was no problem at all. The only reason why the Gop came out in force is because of the amendment vote, I believe.
LOFL!
A hat tip to those Floridian Democrats who voted today. Knowing no delegates would be awarded to their candidate, and facing a maze akin to “Flowers For Algernon”, they faced the obstacles and performed their civic duty anyway.
Their are a thousand reasons and excuses for not voting, and Floridian Democrats had additional reasons to just say, “why bother.”
Can we get a net-roots-wide hat-tip and polite golf applause for these Democratic citizens that truly love America?
They are the true leaders today.
Actually, now that I’ve looked, he’s not as rich as I thought he was. Not as rich as Kerry. Too bad Kerry didn’t spend like Mitt.
uh ohhh repugs on misnbc disagreeing re mccain-romney….. yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Drinks on the house if Huckabee beats Giuliani.
Kerry’s not rich … Teresa is the Billionaire …
thats cuz its MRS kerry’s money………
but Kerry wouldve had to borrow from the little lady…can we just admit Kerry didnt REALLY want to be prez if it was too much of a hassle
Is Joe Scar always this idiotic ? (rhetorical)
I wonder what charities he supports…That is as much money as the entire wealth of a nation….
Oh, yeah….it’s way, way, way, way, way more than the wealth of our “Nation”….
Too close to call with a 38,000 vote spread? How come they could call it for Dubya 2000 with a 600 vote spread?
Thanks, Solai!
CNN Florida exit polls can be viewed here
I find these really quite interesting … though baffling on the conservative votes for Edwards which remains similar across the primaries.
((((((ROND))))))
before or after the absentees are counted?
that reminds me – are they gonna be counted – and if so – when?
Thanks for the link. (Love your name!)
And where is the house located?!
look at KILLERJOE…….
Wow. Mitt is richer than the Homeland. Dang.
Hey RonD my homie!
I wonder how many KosDems switched parties to vote for McCain?
Respective of foreign policy, if the choice comes down to HRC or McCain, then that pill will be bitter dosage for this Demo to swallow.
uhhh YEAHHHHHHHH!!
because Nostradamos was on the payroll
{{{{LooHoo}}}}
Pat Buchanon:
“McCain’s platform:’The jobs aren’t coming back, the illegals aren’t leaving but I promise you lots of war’”
Are you sure he wouldn’t be the easier candidate to beat? He has serious foot-in-mouth disease and the PTB hate him.
oh my tea just went all over cat
Gawd…we are reduced to that…:)
Huzzah. Hear, hear…
{{{frontline}}}}}
*raising glass*
To the FL Dems!
*ding*
nevermind. Only 47 percent of the crooked votes are in.
Poor kitty!! ;P
Hi Petro!

Hey Alicia! When’s the book due?
We are on it!!! Now.
He married the ketchup lady. According to Bill Maher, he has to slap her on the butt to make her ___.

Eli is upstairs with a New Post !
why does FRONTLINE hate chimpie/and biggus dickus
((((( Alicia )))))
How goes the writing ?
I was the only person I saw all day with an I voted sticker. And I went food shopping afgter work. Very depressing really.
But noses will be held, and duty will be done, no?
U2!
That’s about the size if it.
Come on up to the New Post
OldGold@51:
I dunno; accusing Obama of being “too far left” because he spoke out against the death penalty years ago, and (she says) was in favor of “socialized medicine”, sounds pretty centrist republican to me. :o)
Kiddo; bitter and getting bitterer, almost by the day.
Did you see her last night, applauding so enthusiastically, while george was talkin’ the “Surge Accomplished!” bullshit?
And Obama, to his credit, sat on his hands?
I’m about to the point that holding my nose to vote for her won’t work; I’ll need a pre-frontal lobotomy to wipe out all the images of her frenching bushCo ass.
