Amen, I think that Scarecrow should write the Demo rebuttal, and lots, lots more.

Here is Cal. I’m involved in advocacy for health care rights for folks with peripheral neuropathy and just received a proposed joint resolution going to our legislature calling for the establishment of a task force on PN; it lacks many things that should be there. The advocate prodding this process reminded me that legislation is like making sausage. Ye Gods! Everything political/governmental is like making sausage. Thanks be to God there are some folks around like Scrarecrow and some of the FDL foks who can articulate the simple truth with power and integrity.

Blessings to all,

I do NOT read that the medical establishment, and big pharma, and the medical insurance companies, have a right to make obscene amounts of money off of sickness and ageing in america.

Your health-care Darwinism is straight out of the GOP playbook, and if we weren’t busy talking about all of the recent events, I think you would be the recipient of one hell of a dogpile, and you’d deserve every bite.

Excellent piece of writing. It captures all the indignation I feel about this administration. I will not being watching him lie through his teeth tonight.

Thanks for conceding that military reductions began with Bush 41’s “peace divident.” However, you continue to assert that it was in a bad state and don’t speak to my point that Bush 43 deemed it in sufficient shape to start a discrtionary war without further supplement or reinforcement. Also, I don’t think you can document your assertion that Bush 41’s defeat was partially due to his downsizing the military. If you remember, the issues in his defeat were “the economy stupid,”, breaking his “no new taxes” pledge, and accusations by the far right that he was a “wimp” due to not pursuing all extreme Reaganite social and economic measures.

Above all, I don’t see how you can review what currnt miitary leadership is saying and argue that the military is “doing pretty well.” They’re saying it is broken.

How ’bout Al Gore as VP for O’Lieberman? It would be assination insurance and a progressive Dick Cheney ta take some a the heavy issues in Congress (environment, alternative energy) and guide a novice through the thicket of Democratic Party politics (he knows where the bodies are buried).

KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION…THE GOOD GUYS AIN’T WON YET!!

We have a medical industry that supports an economic free society. No where does it say that health care is a right, it is a privilege. Because the issue is a big political motivator has it been referenced as a right. The right you have is the freedom to go out and get healthcare, just like food, water and our Starbuck Latte’s. Government is not the answer for healthcare which is what I am assuming you are alluding to. If it goes that route, all us middle-classers will have to downgrade our health care, and the rich will still get their “superior” health care because they will go buy it somewhere else. Trust me, if HillaryCare 2 is enacted, do you thing Hillary herself will use it? Highly doubtful.

A thought on health care…..give the charities and religious organizations the freedom to make healthcare available to those who cannot afford it. They can do it much more efficiently than any government, and provide better care. It also will give many people a reason to work for causes bigger than themselves, and allow Pharma co’s the ability to write off drugs donated. We would see doctors taking pay cuts to support whatever organization they are affiliated with (ie, Doctors without borders). Also, it would take abortion out of the public arena. Those that want to support abortion clinics can do that and have it be a tax write off. No longer would it be a federal or state regulated procedure.

The state of the Union just got a little better, since Ted Kennedy (and his son, Patrick) today, turned their backs on Hillary Clinton and endorsed Barak Obama.

This is a dagger, to have Kennedy come out for Obama right after she got swamped in S.C. It also, brings up the issue, loud and clear, of:

“Whattaya say, Al?” :o) As Bill’s VP, if Gore breaks for Obama, it may just about put her out of the race, and with the issues that Obama can, and will, raise, there would be the sweet irony of Al Gore effectively picking the next president of the United States. :o)

I have no idea if he’s leaning toward an endorsement at all, at this point, and he might still go for Hillary, but it will be a shock, if he does. He, of all people, understands perfectly what’s at stake in this election, and how important it is that we win it, and win it going away.
