I was hoping that NSA’s FDL Monitors had forwarded to Bush’s speechwriters this news post which discussed CTV’s Philip Stavrou’s suggestions for tonight’s speech:
On Monday night, if U.S. President George Bush really wants to make nice with his critics there’s one group he needs to specifically address in his State of the Union speech — the Dixie Chicks.
"If he wants to heal the country’s divisions there doesn’t seem to be any better thing to do than reach out to the Dixie Chicks," Renan Levine, a professor of U.S. politics at the University of Toronto, told CTV.ca.
"They are walking, talking, singing personifications of the divisions in the country and, yes, they are all from Texas.
"There needs to be a Bush-Dixie Chicks lovefest."
Bush’s speech tonight reinforced that he is not ready to make nice. Fine. Neither are we.

hey firepups…fyi Mercury, the planet of communication, went retrograde today and Mars, the warrior planet goes direct after months of retrograde, on Wednesday.
Not a good time to sign papers, buy the computer, start a new job or make major decisions of any kind. Mercury goes direct on February 18 so wait til then and redo, repair, rewrite and replace until then.
The decison in Florida will probably be in question.

Apart from all the other horrible and stupid stuff Bush has spearheaded, what irks me the most is him acting as if the treasury is his own money to spend how he wants. Like when he said having universal healthcare would be “socialized medicine”, I wanted to kick his ass and say, no dear, that is OUR MONEY WE GAVE YOU and now you will give it back in the form of UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE.

Dodd made the statement today taht we need to have the opportunity…blocked by Rethugs…to fix the FISA law. Would that happen if it went back to committees for rewording and addressing the problems Dodd sees. Will you and bmaz and cboldt be compfortable with what details. Marcy would sure add to the discussion as well as Christy.
May I call for a another thread you all could do tomorrow before the vote. We have no direction on what to ask of our congress critters now unless oppose any bill/amendment and tackle it back in committee.

For all the work you do here you could ask to post a pic/description. If you know what and where you want to move to. Just a thought in a very tough market, We have 60 foreclosures here that are not helping the market rebound.
