I’m voting for her on Feb 5th and in the General Election. I’m voting for experience and actions. Especially after Teddy Kennedy’s dissing both Hillary and women.

I’m sorry, choosing a senator new to the national stage, one started campaigning after a single year in the senate is a a dismissive of Senator Cliinton’s years of consistent commitment and work for Democratic causes, candidates, and issues.

If a woman with Obama’s limited record had tried that, regardless of how many pretty words she spoke, she would have been laughed off the stage.

Being inspiring doesn’t get the job done. Those who are merely inspired don’t necessarily take action and often fall away when the going gets tough.

Inspiration coupled with hard work and experience is the way to go. I see inspiration in action and deeds, not just pretty words.

Just called my Sen Nelson (FL). He’s one of the 12 dems that voted with the GOP Thurs to kill the (good) Judiciary Bill thus sticking us with the (bad) Intelligence version which has amnesty for telecoms and expands Exed spying powers. If 3 of the 12 turn-coat Dems join with Clinton and (presumably) Obama, we can kill cloture, extend PAA for 30 days, and possibly get good amendments added.

Sen Nelson’s aide told me Nelson was supporting the filibuster! Huzzah! Interestingly, Bush said he would veto an extension of PAA, which he has said is vital to keeping us safe. Bush would rather endanger us all than give amnesty to his law-breaking buddies? The Emperor has no clothes!

I watched proud young brothers fucked over by both the system as whole and cracker-ass NCO’s in particular and I’ll never forget it. “glossy exterior, the superior speaking skills - the grand rhetoric.” Better that he be a schmuck that can’t talk.

I hear that, and I understand how good it would be to elect a black president, and true, anyone (nearly) will be an improvement over what we’ve got. But the world is a mess right now, and this election has more riding on it than the race issue.

In re: Edwards vs Obama

I will probably be sticking with Edwards. (After all, how lame would it be to have an Edwards sticker on your car for six months and then vote against him?) A little reinforcement was all I needed, I guess. Everyone I know is for Obama and there has been some pretty effective lobbying on their part trying to bring me aboard. Thanks for the insight. Keeping him in the race and getting him 15% will probably be enough to keep me in the camp.

Just spoke to very nice, if a little nervous, staffer named David in DiFi’s office (thanks, Christie for the phone#) He says that she isn’t sure how she will vote, wants to listen to debate before the vote. I was very nice, thanked him for his work and willingness to pass my remarks to the Senator. Told him that listening to the debate this afternoon was not an excuse for not already having decided to vote ‘no’ on cloture, that everyone who had been following this issue already knew what was on the table and what was at stake, that immunity for the telecoms was simply an assurance for immunity for the administration’s illegal wiretapping of US citizens. I told him that the citizens of this country were desperate for the Dems to stand up for the Constitution and the rule of law and that by not doing everything in her power to convince other Senators to do the same was tantamount to saying to us that they were willing to let this administration break the law with impunity and abandon their oaths to defend the Constitution of the United States.

As an Edwards fan in Missouri, do I vote for Edwards or Obama, who is far ahead of HRC in my opinion?

I’m an Edwards fan in MD, which votes a week after Super Tuesday. I’m still voting for Edwards because I want him to continue to have clout to raise issues with whoever is the nominee. And I want him to break the 15% threshold to pick up delegates.

Just my 2 cents.

I also got through (*finally*) at SF office – young man was very courteous and said they were getting “a lot of calls” He took my opinion (laced with Christy-induced passion and the line “The Constitution DEMANDS that she stand up against Bush and the Senate republicans(for ONCE) and filibuster this bill”) and said he would certainly pass it along…
