Honest to God, I couldn’t watch McConnell speak for more than a minute before changing the channel in a silent rage. Everyone who supports telecom immunity is either in the pocket of the telecoms or a coward willing to sacrifice freedom for the illusion of security.

Let’s review how conservative Republican idols chose between freedom or security.
Moses: Led the Isrealites into the insecure desert for freedom.
Pilgrims: Sailed across the insecure waters of the Atlantic for freedom.
Founding Fathers: Offered up their personal security for freedom.
Lincoln: Offered up his personal security to free the slaves.
Jesus: Offered up his personal security to free sinners.

I read an infuriating piece at antiwar.com via the L.A. Times which suggested that congressional “gridlock” was due to Pelosi and Reid’s failure to “reach across the aisle” early in this congress, preferring “smash mouth tactics” which alienated the president and congressional republicans. I.e., it’s all the democrats fault.
Is this the prevailing mainstream view?
