Hey, Suzanne!
Woo hoo!
hey redshift!
Hi everyone
Good evening all. Just a quick drive-by before I collapse from exhaustion.
everyone got on your dancing shoes?
Wow… out of the comments … I have met two out of three…
pain free sleep wishes, tex
The bottle certainly let the Lake run dry… ;-)
Hi Suzanne, sweet dreams TexB.
(laughing)
see why its a bad thang
Watching the Newport Jazz Festival on PBS… need to put Elmore to bed… He is getting ready the talking head shows for ESPN which is exhausting… poor baby fell asleep watching jazz…
Oh yes!
I love this band, thanks, Suz!
Four!
Hi! Are you settled in California?
Liking the music, Suz!
Figured what with it being Saturday nite, ya’ll needed a little toe tappin tune to end the evening properly.
teddy, it just started pouring hard again here – you should get some powerful rain in about 30 minutes or less.
Really strange weather pattern. Prevailing winds in this storm are to the NNW, usually it’s to the ESE. Landed into SFO last night to the SW instead of straight N as usual, due to wind direction.
It’s pretty near the fortieth nite, eh? I know its been forty days at least…
Suzanne,
More,please.
oooh yeah. Speaking of Austin, here’s a rockin tune from Two Hoots and A Holler at the Continental Club. I used to see these guys play Monday nights at the Black Cat on 6th St. in ‘90.
Bailed from the Aina, eh?
yes ma’am, here ya go
I’m not moving from AZ… ????
My boyfriend Elmore is the Tech manager for ESPN taking head show ESPN2 here in Snotsdale AZ… will be starting Monday
We are having a major storm here with up to 4 inches of rain. first time in 13 years AZ has been in the normal rain zone.
this storm is bringing up subtropical moisture from the south
I would so love to be in the Islands now. Last week Anaheim, cold there. This week Portland, literally freezing there. Home in Oakland now, a frickin’ deluge. I don’t do cold. There were returning Kona vacationers on my BART train from the airport last night, I wished I was one too.
Snow, snow and more snow here in Michigan.
With all this rain we gotta get started building that ark thingy… Just doesn’t make sense that the lake would go dry on an evening like we are having here in the bay area :>)
Off to shower before the Sumo starts – end of the tournament, Hakuho vs. Asashoryu tonight! Back in a few.
Sorry, katymine! I don’t know who I was thinking of moving to California. Is egregious moving here?
probably a right wing conspiracy to deprive us and flood coit tower to keep the falafel king happy
LooHoo, yes eg is moving to california
So we have a incredible blowout win tonight for Obama in South Carolina, hardly a bastion of Liberalism. Obama wins the delegate count in Nevada, a state with dramatically different dynamics from S.C. Obama with a commanding win Iowa, a midwestern state with mostly lighter skinned folks. A decent finish for Obama in NH.
Sure seems like Obama appeals to people people across the board. Perhaps the “electability” question is getting answered for us?
Hey, gang, didn’t mean to zed and run, but now I’d better get ready for bed. ‘Night, all.
Yeah, it was freezing here this week. Do Not Like! It rained this morning, and turned to ice on my driveway.
hey glad to see you, how you feeling?
sleep well, redshift, here’s some drift off to sleep mavericks for ya
Nite, Redshift. Sleep well.
Well, I’ve always thought they’re all electable, at least this year. But yes, it’s being answered in the right way — you prove you’re electable by winning primaries, rather than asking people to vote for you in primaries because you’re “the most electable.”
And here in Cleveland, too. A lovely 2 inches.
acckkk until the 6.22 inches of rain yesterday, there was snow on all the summits around me. snow is pretty. ice is treacherous.
Doing OK still have to take it easy for a week but other than that there has been a weight taken off my shoulders… sure has made my sweetie and family to get such good news…
wondered if you were ok…. saw the cars off the road at Troutdale on the Weather channel….
Which Baisho is it?
That’s it. I was looking for Emmylou singing Bottle let me Down. Nothing I could find…
Evening Suzanne and Firepups.
Found this a few minutes ago. This ten year old is quite impressive. Kansas no less.
Carry On…
Enjoy!
I bet it has, what a relief for all of you. I love to hear good news like yours.
wow. the boa makes me laugh but her playing is sweet ear candy
Nite everyone….. say good night Elmore…. come on.. you have to get up at 4am to go to work tomorrow… yuck… it is Sunday too…
Obama had another great speech, and I think Michelle is a real asset.
Yeah, it’s been forking cold!!!
At least we haven’t gotten another freak snowstorm like a couple of Mondays ago.
Seems warmer today with the rain, but I hear Snoqualmie Pass really sucks.
I spent all day at a women’s spa absorbing all kinds of heat, so I’m finally feeling warm for the first time in a couple of weeks.
How’s the Lake been today?
FunnyDiva
Nite, Katymine. Yup, I’m fine. Staying bundled up!
g’nite katymine
had turbulent waters that tossed everyone out earlier but seems to be back to smooth sailing, funnyd. how are you doing?
Yes, the numbers shift in the last month or so have been stunning:
http://www.pollster.com/08-US2…..rimary.php
It seems like it’ll depend on whether there’s enough time for Obama to close the gap in enough Super Tuesday states. He’s gaining considerable ground very rapidly, but he did start out really far behind. It’ll be a fun couple of weeks!
Suzanne, last night when you linked up the Richard Harris rendition of MacArthur Park, you mentioned how it reminded you of the other song by procol harum. After hearing it again, MacArthur Park reminded me of another song that I always confused it with as well.
At 2:10, when she starts heel and toeing the bass pedal, well, I’m not worthy… Breathtaking stuff for her age.
Tell me about that I am still not believing it! Still sinking in after 5 months thinking the worst.
Gawd, a spa visit and all that warmth would be nice!
ohmystars. i haven’t heard that in years
I agree it is! Same here too, but, I seem to lack any semblance of remorse from ya’ll… It’s just not fair…! ;-)
i’m hoping alicia (a fine keyboardist) shows up tonight so she see it
wow
Oh yes, she is fantastic. I watched her video profile the other day on Obama’s site, and was floored. Its seemed so real, as if she was just talking from her heart without any stage managing.
I missed the good news, nahant. Tell!
Hmmm. Server turbulence or Primary turbulence?
I’m doing really good today. Turning 40 doesn’t suck at all when you have friends like mine. As soon as the espresso I had at intermission tonight wears off, I’m going to bed. I’m still all nooodle-y from my spa day.
Nite, Katymine!
FunnyD
(((nahant)))
so glad for you and your family
was today your birthday, funnyd? if so, happy happy and a spa sounds like a wonderful way to spend such a happy occasion.
Nice.
hey kirk, staying dry?
Happy Bday, FunnyD! Server turbulence, major turbulence…!
Yeah, it was soooo nice.
Don’t know if a) you’re a woman or a man or b) if there are such awesome places for men, too.
And I had the best yakisoba I’ve had in ages–right there in my spa outfit…didn’t have to leave the building.
So, Firepup ladies, if you ever visit Greater Seattle and need some spa hangout time, LMK.
FunnyD
Happy birthday, FunnyD! Sounds like you had a wonderful day. “Feeling all noodle-y,” what a great way to put it! :)
whats yakisoba?
Happy Birthday Funnydiva!! (Spring chicken)
No Cancer of the liver… some kind of a hemangioma. enlarged blood vessels .. But I do have gene deficiency called Alfa-1 Antitrypsin So in light of that they will keep poking and prodding me.. Doc also says I am in great shape… so I guess I will just have to take good care of myself.. Thanks for asking Loo Hoo I know between my family and the firepups I was well watched over!
Yummy Japanses noodle dish.
And FunnyD, I’m a female. Sometimes it’s good to have a neutral nickname, sometimes not.
Japanese noodles, soba is noodle in Japanese…
I told my 30-something wife, a staunch Edwards supporter, about the Caroline Kennedy NYT Op-Ed, and she said,
“Oh my god. That is huge! Wow. Alright, I think I feel OK now to back Obama. Kennedy’s endorsement might seal it for Obama.”
Now personally, I don’t understand the sway the Kennedy’s have had over America, and especially Caroline. I couldn’t have even told you she was JFK’s daughter, let alone anything she’s ever done. But to see my wife be so emotional about that struck a chord with me. I know my wife has always had an interest in the whole “Camelot” idea and has followed the Kennedys for a long time. Is this a male/female thing?
There’s a great little japanese and korean restaurant a few miles from my apartments that does yakisoba to die for, FunnyD. :D I know how you feel!
But yakisoba in a spa? *drools*
Japanese dish. Stoopid fingers.
And CT
Yup. Starting the 5th Decade…and a new tradition in my group of friends. Spa entry’s free on your big day. And at $35 for the run of the place for as long as you can stay, it’s not a bad value. Cheaper than therapy and more fun than a Dr Visit co-pay! Certainly not out of reach for friends to keep each other company.
Then I went to a concert by Simon Shaheen. Guess I’m off to You-Tube to see if I can find anything. It was a great show.
FunnyD
thanks, ct
dayam. another reason to hope my place hurrys up and sells. i’m gonna have to go there when i move. that’s a great forking price.
Actually there’s several types of noodles. Udon is another. Though udon is a soupier dish, as is ramen when done right. Yakisoba tends to be my running favorite. IF i wasn’t so damned broke i’d have gotten some tonight.
No cancer is always good news.
Congratulations, I think. In any case, best wishes. Sounds like you’ve dodged a bullet.
Heh, Ramen is cheap…! ;-) I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
Well here is to the revolution:

We like Tracy around Here
bonkers, that is a nice Michelle Obama clip.
Bonne nuit CT.
g’nite ct aloha oe
Tokyo (Ryogoku). The Best One!
This is just gold.
I Told You So
Instant ramen is cheap! :P But the little ramen shops/stalls in japan? I’d love to be able to go to one of those. The way we do hot dogs on the street corners? They have those little stalls that do noodle dishes. All part of the experience.
Night, CT. Sweet dreams. I’m headed to bed too.
More like a Nuclear attack! But I ducked and covered under my desk
WONDERFUL!! Just have to follow the ‘ol doctors orders, I guess. I’m so happy for you and your family.
Some more Raul Malo doing Elvis
g’nite TOW
Yah. Yakisoba in-spa. And delicious fruit smoothies. It’s a Korean spa. They do the body scrubs and bee-you-TAY treatments, too, but just the basics was all I needed/wanted today.
http://www.olympusspa.net/lynnwood/index.aspx
This facility is only 2 yrs old, so it’s all spanking new and gorgeous. Can you tell this was my first big spa trip?
FunnyD
take care, nahant.
In my own chain of associations, Richard Harris led to Gerry Rafferty and on to another song from the end of that decade . Must have done a slow skate to it more than once growing up.
I’m wide awake but off to sleep for some exertion in the snow tomorrow. Stay warm and dry y’all.
Dude! I’m very happy for you, and for those who love you!
sigh
All it would need would be either jasmine tea or some bubble tea and my life would be complete.
Sounds great!
g’nite muzzy
I hope your place hurry’s up and sells, too. When you make the move North, it would be my pleasure to take you to spa and lunch.
FunnyD
Great souvenir…
September 88, Human Rights tour stopped at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. When she did this song, 55′000 folks held their breath, not a noise in the place. She had us in her back pocket. Quite an experience.
Nite CT.
sounds yummy and i look forward to it funny d
‘Night, Brah.
now that ct’s gone, we can talk dirty in hawaiian
Yes, her’s is much better than Barack’s. She’s so real, while Barack seems like he had rough script to follow.
Watching those, and having lost my mother when I was fairly young, I sure wish Barack’s mom could be seeing all this. I wonder how much he thinks about that…
Well here is another sentimental Tracy Chapman.. nice eye candy also
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUVnKz_deUA
Petty Booka do a nice version of that.
i had not heard him speak a full speech until tonight. wow, goosebumples. but, can he translate that talk into action is my big question.
Simon Shaheen

Oud (Lute-like)Improv
violin
He was great, but his drummer/percussionist was FASCINATING! And an amazing drummer to boot. How he could get that many different sounds out of what looked like a tambourine is still a mystery to me…
FunnyD
Suzanne,
since you started off with Austin why don’t ya slip one by The Asylum Street Spankers into the box?
(i’d do it myself but i’m techno-challenged)
dear mr president
nice song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oegoI80t6WE
which one? the one i put up during the utube protest songfest?
this one?
Get outta here! Petty Booka!?? Several years ago I ordered a Booka CD from Japan so I could have this song (a bit of a Tom Waits freak I am):
http://www.sister.co.jp/pettyb…..r_head.mp3
It’s not often I see Booka references. Good on ya!
Agree. Plus, I’d like to know who the candidates would like in their administrations by this time. The cabinet is HUGE as we now know. I realize they couldn’t commit to certain people for certain positions, but an idea. I want to know if anyone would want Lieberman either on the ticket or in the cabinet.
sweet. i’ve not seen that live tour clip of that song before.
Love the Mavericks, Suz. Digging now!
It looks like it’s going to come down to Barak vs. Hillary and it’s going to be a brokered convention. So, the key is to preserve Democratic harmony. I have serious gripes with all of our candidates, but each of the is so damn much better than any of theirs, that we should thank our stars.
aw, thanks, newton :)
Cats & Dogs here, falling straight down. How about you?
Yes indeed. That will be the main question for a while. Judging by his life history and work history, I have “Hope,” as they might say.
Something that eases this concern me though is the infrastructure we’ve been able to setup here in the Liberal blogosphere. We’ll be able to keep him/her honest like no other President has had to deal with before. Plus, it’s looking like we’ll be getting More and Better in Congress to help with the checks and balances on whoever the Prez is.
We still have a long way to go however, but so far so good, right!
same here, we are in for a wet and bumpy night. i hope i don’t get winds with this storm – winds and trees and saturated soil usually means i lose power at some point.
I only have the one CD. I think it’s actually called Let’s Talk dirty in Hawaiian. They’re so adorable.
Now here is some grassroots activism
http://www.rutlandherald.com/a…..003/NEWS02
I still have cousins there and I hope they signed the petition!

savor it.
bear in mind, though, that S.C. is most probably not negotiable. it will, almost certainly go to the ‘Pubs in the general. how Obama does Feb 5 will tell the tale.
good news for sure is Edwards picking up 8 convention delegates. if he can keep that up Progressive Party will have a voice in Denver.
forking a! i so wanna see that frogmarch
I had forgot about that. Glad to see they’re making progress. What a statement that would send for the history books.
I think it might be.
I am a few years older than Caroline, and I’m very impressed with her endorsement. She’s tops with me. Very smart, a lawyer, stays out of the limelight mostly, has written a book that was well-received.
Hope people all around the world see that.
OMFG! 707! How’d I miss that one?
It’s bookmarked. I’ll have to find more of their stuff!
It’s even better than Weird Al Yankovic!
FunnyD
In order to get what the Republic needs, though, the next President has to be willing to get out the Very Big Oak Club, trundle up the hill, and place it squarely over the two Leaders heads (hopefully not Harry and Nancy), and do a little LBJ number on them.
Bipartisanship is so damned 2007.
love their stuff. glad you do too. they are a hoot
Yea, that’s what my wife said…that Caroline stays out of this kind of thing, and the surprise of her Obama endorsement would say a lot to women especially. Then, to have her say that she hasn’t seen anything like this since her father…man, that’s powerful.
My uncle ran the Ho Joe’s that was located on the borders of the three states there… boy when we visited him at the restaurant he spoiled the hell out of us kids… my mom would keep telling us not to order anything expensive on the menu but Uncle Chris always made sure we got what ever we wanted!
Those Vermonters sure have their own way of doing things…. gret state if you haven’t visited it, put it on your list of places to see. One of my nephews is getting married up there in a town that straddles the border with Canada. You go in door of the library in the USA and out the other in Canada…
i’ve not seen new england. its on my list along with ireland and alaska.
Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall here too.
anyone want any trout?
What’s with Traitor Joe yammering about “bipartisanship” anyway? He’s not a Democrat, so which part of the “bi” does he think he is? Maybe he should be pushing for tri-partisanship.
HoJo has mastered tripe-artisanship.
Well New England is right between them… you will just have to pop in while you are going from to the other :>) In the fall the colors are just unfriggin believable Don’t miss them
Pun! (laughing)
HA! Excellent.
Niiiiiice…
Well maybe he is just BI?? Ya never know with that one..
yowsa, nahant’s taking on pun
never could stomach that schmuck.
Lieberman is a dual-denial ulcer on the body politic.
I’d be willing to bet he hasn’t stuck anything into hadassah for quite some time.
(sorry)
dang, pun, tell us how ya really feel about that low life pond scum sucking yutz.
Three places I want to visit too. Along with China, India, and Australia…So much world to see…
Maybe the Rabi took too much!!
ack ack ack.. brain bleach… stat
his-dassah I meant…
evening again all. upstairs neighbor walking above my head trying to get her baby to fall asleep. mishmash of emotions in my house and my head. wide awake!
If you ban me…I’ll understand….really.
china and japan, australia and new zealand, dayammit, i’m really wanna go everywhere. russia. brazil.
Something about your contempt?
If you stay here at the lake you won’t need to sleep….tooo much fun being had!
its not me ya gotta worry about – The Lurking Mod works my threads.
isn’t my fondness showing through?
only problem is that i got only 4 hrs last night.
Bipartisanship is whatever someone who thinks they practice it wants it to be. In RGJoe’s case, it means leaving the party he belonged to and which raised him to the VP nomination, got him initially elected in CT, filled his campaign coffers for a good many years, positioned him to lobby or do whatever the heck he wants when he’s done, and even (irony is indeed dead) to some degree supported him after he left the party to oppose a Democrat, permitted him (on a committee-level) to ignore the most catastrophic disaster to happen to a city and a region perhaps ever, proclaim him as a friend when he chooses to support a Gooper-Extraordinaire for President, etc.
There is no excusing this.
ooof!
Hello Betsy. I can’t sleep either, because Cindy kept me awake all night so I had a nap today.
Tex, will you please give Snarky a hug for me?
I so want a Repube ticket of CrazyTrain and Traitor Joe. Gawd, that would be comical. No chance of winning whatsoever.
Bonkers – my power came back on just in time to learn of her endorsement of Senator Obama. The entire day has proved quite moving. I read Edwards oh so inspiring speech.
Suz – fresh storm front on its way – temp just dropped dramatically and another front of wind, rain and what sounds like rather large hail. Poor birds.
Hey all.
I also napped today. Once the crowd of teenage girls ran out of snack food and left.
Yawn… just waking up Suzanne.
And Lieberman’s “hadassah” is his own affair. I will not touch that.
You go, bonkers!
Something about your contempt?
my daily affirmations for HoJo have become less public and, well, less daily, but nevertheless:
(ahem)
…
my contempt for HoJo will never subside.
I’d share my meds with you but I don’t know how to e-mail one to you… I took one this afternoon and it put me to sleep for hours and the bottle says I can have eight a day… If I did that I wouldn’t know who the hell I was or where
That is hug #415 for tomorrow morning. :)
Whew!
lurking meds?
Speaking of meat… here is a little Meatloaf to cheer up with

Turns out Scarlett Johansson is engaged to Barack.
have gotten 1/2″ so far in the last couple hours.
harrumph (laughing)
Hey NPB! Stay inside!!
evening blog madam opportunity
Suzanne, this counts toward Saturday since I haven’t slept yet, k?
One of Cassie’s posts was read aloud and discussed on the radio the other night. If anyone knows a better way of posting audio to wordpress, let us know. She left me the keys to both her blogs while she is in transit.
one of my favs of his
OH OH your going to get us in trouble… or maybe he snuck one from me??
TLM, I’m going to give ya a few tests to make sure you are good to operate the heavy machinery.
Good!
Hi, Betsy
Then I get to be hug #416 for tomorrow? And have her give you one from me, too.
And with that, I’m taking my noodle-y, 4-decades-old self to bed now. Goodnight, late-late pups.
XO
FunnyDiva
sleep well, funnyd
sleep well diva! you’re on for hug 416.
Nite, funnyD. I love that “all noodly,” lol.
Hey, bonkers – hold my drink whilst I dazzle Suzanne with my sobriety act…
Oh look. Kids never noticed this snack. Anyone hungry?
Goodnight, young diva!
dibs on the chocolate covered cherries in the middle, tex
yeah, sure, right, she said jadedly.
I started on the blueberries.
tex, they are sold at my local market in town. double triple yummy good they are (and i like to think good for me too)
sell ‘em here too. way too expensive if the kids are around. good to buy and hide where no one’s looking.
advantage of living solo
disadvantage: no one to blame when they are all gone
I want some of the noodles FunnyD was talking about. That sounded wonderful.
Suz, come February 1, both of my girls are gone and I’m solo too. Love ‘em, but it is time. I look forward to my own place for the first time in my life!
LooHoo, I want the noodle-y feeling. Its been ages since I’ve had a massage. christmas a year ago as a matter of fact, baby girl got me a gift certificate for one.
I’ve got a gift certificate for a massage too. Better do that soon, it sounds wonderful!
I spent some time Tuesday in a hot tub. Gigantic one. First time in a long time. My muscles felt wonderful for the only time all week.
Tex, I have a friend who lives near a hot springs just because of a bad injury…it makes it so much better, to soak
Suharto died
You ladies are getting all sentimental about the kids and I can relate I raised six of them and the last is now a junior in college so now it’s just me, my sweetie and the dog. It has been a long time raising kids (35+ years) and I am ready for just us… no kids no baby sitters and if we want to do something we can… I do love them, but it sure is nice to see them going through we have gone through to get them out the door. And they can change any diapers :>)
Am thrilled for Obama and my primary vote is going to Edwards.
nahant, still have one (13 yr old) at home 3 nights a week. not sure what i’ll do with the other nights and the weekends.
i enjoyed my babies but i am glad to be an empty nester. feels good living by myself, doing what i want when i want without having to worry about homework or fixing dinner or that dayam last minute told about school project due in the morning.
you will learn to enjoy them. the sound of silence can be a good thing.
Ms ET and I are still having a hard time adjusting to being just the two of us. The younger is just a freshman at a college where my wife and I both teach, so it isn’t like they’re gone gone, but we’re still having a hard time getting to relate to each other without the kids being how we do that. Sort of strange, because we were together for 11 years before we had kids.
ssssss…silence?
i forgot. what’s that?
exactly! My first choice for our Feb 5 caucus is Edwards, but Obama’s handling his schtick pretty well.
It’s going to be so strange. The last daughter leaving February 1st is such a sweetie, rarely ever a problem. I guess I just look forward to not worrying if she doesn’t come home about the time she says she will. Can’t worry if they’re not expected home. It’ll just be my own messes, groceries, and dogs. It’s always been siblings, men, kids, work and responsibilities. This is a new freedom coming up!
I can see we are on the same page… I wouldn’t change anything… well maybe a few things.. but it is nice to not have to worry every day about them and what they are doing. They can make their own mistakes with their lives now … I did every thing I could for them and it’s up to them to take what I taught them… But I am lucky they are all doing well in their own lives and I am proud of all of them…rather satisfying if I do say so!
enjoy the freedom loo hoo.
the hardest part of them growing up was learning to let go
I will. Hope I can keep from calling all the time to check on them!
i let go every tuesday morning suzanne.
i used to do it every other monday morning for a week at a time.
More Sibel Edmunds.
we have quite possibly the strangest custody schedule i’ve ever heard of
holy crap, loohoo, hey ET, you see this?
(((((ET !))))) I read Edwards received enough votes in 3rd place to claim some 16 or 17 delegates out of South Carolina. Do you think he would accept VP if offered? How I dream.
Thanks Loo Hoo. Just posted it at my place.
Why Congress didn’t bring the troops home
from LA Times
The Democratic majority squandered chances to work with Republicans unhappy with Bush and tried to bully their rivals.
To a crescendo of clicking cameras, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stepped before a row of shimmering U.S. flags last March to make an announcement Americans had been waiting four months to hear.
I need to credit Bob Schacht. (Bob in HI)
To Suzanne, Jane and Christy all the posters and pups:
Alan Payson brought fire to the lake today…I hope it spreads across the internet. Here is a young level headed leader with all the equpment to lead like Dodd inside the congress.
I sent in may vote for John and Elizebeth today in the California Dem primaries. For the money he spends do the math he gets more vote per dollar. No bad on the others. For him to do better we have to get him the tools he is not pandering to big corporation.
SC encouraged me to see the big dem turnout…long time between now and convention we need to focus on the positive and pull the wagon in the same direction as a party tax the rich and level the economic playing field…I want to see the issues highlighted…to much slammin to early. Blue is the message.
Alan Payson get $100.00 from me for taking on the corporate crooks that are stealing or national treasury. No immunity. Universal medical for all Americans. Clean up the DOJ. Get out the vote for Dems.
Send money to Dodd, Edwards and Kuccinich.
Show we protect those that go to bat for us by helping with the campaign debt little and often.
The pups were great today, if we can keep up this every day for the rest of our lives we can achieve world peace…peace is the underlying goal and Iraq is the example how nothing gets done fighting.
Let’s unite behind all of our party candidates and get the MO…momentum I can feel it and build it. Let’s all be confident of the victory it will come with the commitment. No more negative remarks please.
I am writing checks to Dennis Kuccinich, Chris Dodd and John Edwards he promised to go the distance all states need to hear the message he is carrying.
Wow Loo Hoo – both Sybil and Valerie have been through the wringer. I fret for both these exceptional patriots.
I’d like to see a Clinton/Edwards team, but it seems like an ObamaNation now! I’m just so afraid of what the Rove machine will do to Obama. While the democratic voters are willing to vote for a black man with an Islamic name, can he win a general? I hope so if he is our candidate.
I hadn’t seen it yet, but Bradblog said today that it was coming in the Sunday London Times – your link.
So, when is Marcy – emptywheel – going to weigh in on this. Months and months ago – before the Libby trial – I told her that Armitage wasn’t an innocent bystander when he insinuated himself into this. Some of the figures starting to come into play with Edmond’s new stuff were
colleaguesco-conspirators with Armitage from as far back as the late 1970s.FDL should have Marcy interview Sibel, eh?
et, marcy’s place is her own and fdl has no editorial control over what or when she posts. here is her contact page for tips and suggestions.
Well it’s pumpkin time for me but a little submarine memories for all us old foggies here on the late late late night with our Suzanne who keeps our late nights fun and informative

said it was great show
Frankly, I’m with the patience and caution of Marcy. She’s a proven sniffer. And there are only so many dragons one Marcy can slay at a time.
pain free sleep wishes tex
I sent $20. He sounds like exactly the ticket!
He and his band are one of my favs,,,..,,., night
I live south of you 120 miles we had sun mostly today in between the two huge storms. Lost power tonight now the wind died. Hope ypur power holds.
Santa Cruz county was on water rations all year not any more…your reservoirs will be full again. We are ahead of our rainfall average too. We had a medicine man give a wonderful two day water blessing ceremony this fall. The signs are good…needs dems to get the economy turned around Arnold Swarznegger couldn’t lift the economy. Peace.
It hard for the homeless
I know that, Suzanne. I’ve thought about e-mailing her and asking why she hasn’t paid much attention to this yet, but am holding off a bit longer.
ok, et, did not know if you knew that.
bigbrother, down near slotown? i am just about at last year’s total for the year. staying dry and warm. we are still under phase 2 drought conditions with madatory water use reductions enforced.
Yes, I read that Marcy was doing Sibil before I started reading her. She hasn’t done anything lately, but that’s not to see that she isn’t documenting it all.
Wonder why Waxman is shining Sibil on (at least for now?)
minus 9F and blowing about 10 to 15 knots. The days ARE getting longer, though.
Picked this choice quote up from a Fairbanks blog, where it is minus 40F:
When I came to Alaska nearly a quarter century ago, I was often told by people who had huskies about how uncomfortable their dogs would become inside a warm house. I have by now had upwards of 20 plus huskies, and have not yet observed that phenomenon.
ouch. my 6.22″ of rain yesterday pales by comparison.
and i am reaffirming my goal of visiting alaska in the summer
Good Golly. Obama’s hauling $500,000 per hour.
Night NPB and Betsy.
dayam, did i miss NPB leaving *waving*
dayam, that’s gonna tic off some dems who want that money for their campaigns
Always happy to have the Nahant view so be well your country needs you now.
Thanks for all the wonderful perspective.
I think people are so worried about our country that they are donating big time to the dems. I’ve never donated before George Bush, except perhaps a little to Clinton. Now I donate on a regular basis, and justify it by saying I give to the candidates rather than a church.
the turnout in the dem primaries has been very encouraging, especially when compared to the r’s turnout.
A friend told me yesterday evening that almost 3,000 people have changed their voter registration from Independent to Democrat in Alaska in the past two months. Might not seem like a lot in other places, but that is a lot here.
i hope that it is the start of a tidal wave of change sweeping across america, et
on that nite, i just realized the forking time and i had better scoot off to bed.
g’nite all and thanks for hanging with me tonight
nite, Suzanne…
nite suz
Excellent ET! As an aside, I was googling Orwellian terms that the Bush admin has used. Hugh’s list came up fourth on Google. Yes!!
I’m anxious to hear what follows in Alaska’s criminal probs of congressmen. Looks like it may warm up here in San Diego County at some point if we can get the likes of Alan Payson elected.
Tsonga 6-4, first set.
Suz, goodnight!
Right on brother. Each candidates brings blue. We need a progressive for good party planks..it move the political paradigm to the left where needs are met and contention is lowered. Right on and gently put.
The Frog March for sure. You can bring the cuffs and leg irons.
We tried to adopt your Santa Cruz very good ordinance but the revenue stream from the rates ( raised twice this year) keep the powers that be from implementing it. We also tried to adopt your county septic management weird forces are at play with the Central Coast Water Board policy. Their bad.
yo
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Kristof and Rich in the NYT today. MoDo is disaapointed in Rudy. She expected that Rudy Giuliani would rise to greater heights as he fell behind, that he would self-immolate in a dramatic way befitting a man who loves opera. Instead she seems to be looking at more of a T. S. Eliot ending to his campaign: “not with a bang but a whimper.” Mr. Kristof says that today the most remarkable young people are the social entrepreneurs, those who see a problem in society and roll up their sleeves to address it in new ways. Mr. Rich’s column is called “The Billary Road to a Republican Victory.” He says that any Democrat who seriously thinks that Bill Clinton will fade away if Hillary wins the party nomination is a Democrat who, as the man said, believes in fairy tales.

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready. This morning, right after South Carolina, I’ve got a Southern breakfast for you. Eggs the way you like, bacon or sausage, grits and biscuits. If you’ve never tried grits, or have only had the vile instant ones, please try real old-fashioned slow cooked grits. Yum. (Mr. Marion in Savannah turns up his nose and says “grits ain’t groceries,” but I keep him around anyway.) Have a great day.
Yo right back at you, Raven!
Hi there! If you ever run across these down there get some Red Mule Grits My friend Tim is part of and organic farm group here and he make them the old fashioned way!
Hey, thanks for the tip! I’ll check in the health food store and specialty markets for them. There’s nothing quite like the real thing.
Mornin!

Since Hillary didn’t win last nite, I think it’s time for her to do the right thing and drop out, don’t you?
It sounds like a great plan to me. Frank Rich in the Times has some things to point out this morning.
ugh! ugh! ugh!
Mortgage crisis wrap-up from the BBC, recommended especially for its graphics.
The despair would be overwhelming if McCain won, it would whelm me down.
Wow. Just wow. Red-lining seems to be very much alive and well…
Let’s hope we don’t have any of that type of whelming.
that is a great summary, thanks!
and the red-lining you point out Marion, that becomes the self-fulfilling prophecy imo
I also think another scandal of this modern day robberbarons era is the usury of the credit card companies. It’s shocking the interest rates they are allowed to collect and can do so with the finest-of-print and undated-changes-to-your-account-incomprehensibly-written notices you hopefully won’t notice.
That’s why I only use one credit card, and pay the entire balance every month. If I want something I can’t buy all at once I do that oh-so-un-American thing — I save up for it. I must be a terrorist sympathizer or something…
well you’re on their list, that’s for sure. Downright un-American you are
Christy is upstairs with the Talking Head Thread.
