George W. Bush destroyed the Republican Party, by which I mean he sundered it, broke its constituent pieces apart and set them against each other. He did this on spending, the size of government, war, the ability to prosecute war, immigration and other issues.
She's no longer in a savoring mood, apparently.
I'd point out that George W. Bush hasn't just destroyed the GOP -- he's pretty much wrecked the country, and a decent-sized chunk of the world to boot. But Nooner's first concern, naturally, is her own beloved party.

Noonan is apparently too stupid to realize that the reason the Republican Party is falling apart is because it was co-opted by the neocons on the one side and the fundies on the other, each of which exploited the authoritarian vulnerabilities of the rank and file. So now they have a schizophrenic party which on the one hand subscribes to the cult of Jesus (which is an entirely different thing from Christianty - Jesus as authoritarian ruler) and on the other hand is rationalizing torture and war.
They’ve been laying the groundwork for this storyline for many months now. I suspect it’ll be in full bloom once they have a candidate picked for the General. Everything will be the “Bush Administration’s fault.” They’ll come riding in claiming to be the saviours of the Party, and return it to “traditional” Repube values.

I see this as one of the first rumblings of the rejection of Bush they’re going to have to do to win anything in November. We need to be prepared to counter it at every turn and not let them pretend that that awful Bush is something that just happened to those nice Republicans (the TS post at Instaputz is a great example.) They created him, cheered him on, attacked anyone who dared to disagree with him, and enthusiastically followed him off the cliff. Now that the ground is rushing up at them, they’re trying to claim it was all his fault.

This is the second time that feingold has teed off on Edwards. The first time I removed myself from all his mailing lists and emailed him why I was pissed with him. His better place would have been to say nothing or endorse one of the other candidates. As it was his remarks were only meant to “damage” the Edwards campaign. For some reason he has bought into the obama/clinton corporate campaign. Un-fuc**ng believable what a few years in DC will do for you.

If you get an email with a legitimate-looking link to a real site like eBay or PayPal, go to the site yourself (not using the link) and look for the item in question or the “security” section.
As an atheist, yeah, I am giving a big pass, but I’m trying to be diplomatic. Many disaffected Republicans are potential allies, and my goal is not to bring justice for past wrongs, but to help build a coalition to put things right.
