But, WADR, I disagree that Hillary is our future.

I think she’s our past, as is Bill, and shortly, as is goatboy and his petroturds. She has been way more of the problem, that she is the solution.
She has not risked one quark’s worth of her political butt, on our behalf. So far from it, she has been, and to some extent, still is, trying to have it both ways, as she feints left and goes right, or fakes right and goes left.

I also think that by mid-summer the reality checks for bush and the goopers will be coming thick and fast, and that no amount of spin by the republicans will save them from a democratic landslide of historic proportions.

The only thing that can save them is Clinton, because if we nominate her, her presence as our choice will become THE reality for a substantial part of the american electorate, and that reality will trump every issue with which we could have hammered them, in the general.

I couldn’t agree more. Verily; well said!

However; whether or not this is sipping the ‘defeatist’ wine (whine) that seems to be creeping over and out the ‘Progressive Community’,

Our future is Hillary.

Our fate is Hillary.

Both, with all their ‘awe’ful implications, ‘win’ or ‘lose’.

Our job, our task, our ‘calling’ henceforth, is ‘to be gracious’.

To behave graciously, in the feat and in defeat.

(Alas, to what unknown and unknowable extent time alone shall reveal)

But, in the meantime, let us practice eqaunimity. We’ll probably have need of it (grinning, solemnly, yet in appreciation, regarding your grasp of the patently absurd).

Did you see the Zogby interview on the Daily Show. Quite disturbing how much of a simpleton he seemed. Stewart asked at the end if he thought polls actually influenced the outcome of elections, and Zogby just giggled and said, “I don’t know.” And giggled some more. Strange…

Alexander: If the Republicans dig in their heels, that’s not “bipartisan bickering,” that’s just honest debate, that’s what they’re in the Senate for.

And the wonderful Bond/Rockefeller bill that passed, the only one that the Republicans didn’t filibuster, is a fine example of bipartisanship to help the telecoms who helped to protect us after 9/11. If only the Democrats would do this all the time, the public wouldn’t hate them so much.

Did Lamar Alexander just say that “as everyone knows, it takes 60 votes to get anything done in the Senate,” then go on to talk about how they need to reach across the aisle to get that kind of support?

This has to be one of the most dishonest speeches ever given in the the Senate, and that’s saying something. Every other word out of his mouth is “bipartisan.”
