Are we that stupid and greedy and so filled with our own inflated self-beliefs that we don’t recognize our limitations? Have no idea why I just asked that, I already know the answer. There were fears then of course that Russia (Marxism, Communism) was becoming a factor in the US - hence the violent and illegal moves to black list those seen to be involved. In many ways the Congress today is no better than Congress then in addressing this issue. (And what in heavens name is Congress doing at this point in particular in going after sports stars for steroids. Priorities much? Nah.
