28: Correct. But in many cases it is a team thing (Red Sox, Yankees) and a tactics thing (crying, accusations, your guy did this, your gal did that, etc) - its not like most of this getting into bed has to do with a differnce in policy. It seems like people pick their winners and want them to win no matter what (rose colored glasses time). This pattern does not apply to people who really dig into politics, but is something apply to casual observers.

The problem for Bush is that he lied to Congress in his 2003 SOTU. You would like to quibble, and brush it off, and say the Dems do it all the time…

But lying to Congress is an impeachable offense. That’s a bit of a problem for your hero, but if you don’t want to believe it, and you don’t think this country deserves better, that’s your business.

Is a fib really a fib if the teller is unaware that he is uttering an untruth? That question appears to be the basis of the White House defense, having now admitted a falsehood in President Bush’s claim, in his State of the Union address, that Iraq had tried to buy uranium in Africa. But that defense is under mounting pressure from a variety of sources claiming that the White House could not have been unaware that the claim was false, because it had been checked out — and debunked — by U.S. intelligence a year before the President repeated it.

My friends husband is on deployment for another 12 months (15 total) – she is having a baby this week…but will not see his son until he is 1 year old. This woman also worked at Walter Reed and had told me of the poor conditions and people like Bob Dole and Condi Rice coming in to the VIP marble bathroom rooms and demanding immediate care for a hang-nail while she had patients down the hall with no stomach.

It’s true I don’t know anyone who actually saw the planes, but I believe many people on NY streets saw the planes hit the towers. I don’t know about 7 hi-jackers still alive, but if what you say is so, it doesn’t explain what happened to the planes and passengers if they didn’t hit the towers. My point wasn’t to revisit 9-11 and the official explanation, though I believe the visit worth while though off topic, I wanted to discuss what we might do that would be more effective than complaining blog comments.

As for der1 at 151, I not sure what you are driving at, but if we are to build bridges, I suggest we build bridges to the police and military. They will be the ones who break our heads if the sh*t hits the fan. Perhaps we can persuade them ahead of time that we are the patriots, not the office holders they support with their clubs.
