From Jane @ Huff:

But one question few are asking — is it a coincidence we haven’t heard anything convincing from Hillary Clinton, who took in $87,130 in telecom contributions in the 2006 cycle — more than anyone else currently in the Senate? That makes Jay Rockefeller’s contributions look like abject chicken feed.

Mike McCurry and Jamie Gorelick, who both served in the previous Clinton administration, have been raking in money as telecom lobbyists (Gorelick has been providing “strategic advice” to Verizon about obtaining immunity). And Howard Wolfson — currently a senior advisor to the Clinton campaign — is a partner in Glover Park, who represent Verizon. No doubt they’ll all have some s’plainin to do if Hillary joins Dodd in his filibuster — as Barack Obama and Joe Biden have already said they would do.

If as Hillary Clinton says she accepts lobbyist money and yet it doesn’t influence her vote, wouldn’t now be a nice time to prove it? I think we’re at one of those moments where the rubber meets the road on that particular claim. By making an unequivocal statement and bringing attention to the matter, she could create a groundswell of public support that puts pressure on other Senate Democrats to respect the rule of law.

Then again, maybe that’s the problem.

Two Heads Takin’ Lotsa Telco Money

Telco Money Make Ya Act Funny

The Senate has still not had access to the documents that were provided to SJC and SSIC in order to vote. Reid wrote McConnell back in December as Kos points out for access, and has been ignored.

Thank you kindly. I think someone else is freeping. The “give lip service support and continue campaigning” has 5%.

There is an opinion poll on it asking if the candidates should go to DC and stop the FISA bill.

Freep the poll, people.

They don’t need excuses, they’re Democrats so they will vote with Bush. They figured out that if they do that, then the Republicans won’t call them names. You watch, neither one will show up for the vote due to ‘other priorities’. Kind of like Cheney and the VietNam war. Cowards, both of ‘em. Dodd will stand alone and be beaten. Thanks, Harry.

It is supposed to be hard.
Called HRC and Obama. Sen Obama’s office. Unlike most of you I chewed on Edwards for past transgressions and will continue to do so to all candidates, I am done making nice, that none seem to listen just informs me that whoever is put in office will only temporarily mitigate the slide towards unrepresentative governance-meet the new boss etc etc.

Sorry to be so jaded, it will not keep me from actvism, I just have my eyes open. Flame on.
