Why did Obama start that? He was asked about how he would pay for the missing $50B and he never answered it. Instead he brought up all these charges and although I think Obama got the better end of that fight, Clinton hung on and got some hits–especially Rezco.

The fact that Hillary would throw out Rezko just shows how down and dirty this is going to get coming down the pike. I thought that was pretty nasty…she smeared him with it.

Clinton on mortgage rate freeze, “not a bail out, a work out”…

I liked Hillary’s earlier answer about the pending market drop and the big refund. Too little, too late. Put people to work making the US green. Installing solar panels etc. Like it.

Clinton says Obama voted against a bill that would limit interest rates to 30%. He says that it was because 30% was too high. Edwards says no limit is better than 30%.

Especially coming off a “caucus”. Oh well, SC will be interesting but I am not going to be able to get pumped with either Clinton or Obama.

My feeling is that with Hillary nothing will ever get done with all this pissfightery she’s doing.

Clinton getting to lead on all the big nice questions (how great is your econ relief package, how cool is your health care plan?) which is an advantage if you know how to answer it off the bat (and getting plenty of follow-ups helps after the others have also said their piece).

Debate wise a number of the attacks are leaving Obama on the defensive, and -typically- in these things both sides are lying about the same amount. So it could come down to the debate and pundit spin in the first few minutes or news cycle — not some thing where news “reports” go and hunt down facts and analyze actual policy. Just throwing that out there.

Edwards: All of us have said we would end the war…how fast is what is important…I’ve said all combat troops out and no permanent bases within a year.

Obama: Understand what’s at stake here.
