BTW, Ataturk; hang onto that photo. If McCain manages to get the nomination, that will get as much mileage, if not more, than the shot of Joe Lieberman smooching bush.

(Are you listening, Hillary? :o) )

@33 Martin Luther King’s Riverside Church speech is where King turned against the illegal,immoral,unconstitutional Vietnam war and urged all to engage in civil disobedience to stop the slaughter.

Beggin’ to differ, but the image with your piece clearly demonstrates McCain’s economic policy. The hand you don’t see is picking Bush’s pocket— or coppin’ a feel… Nevermind, it’s probably the latter.

Did Bill Kristol’s column really consist of a poem???? Good grief. I’d like to audition for Mr. Kristol’s job by submitting a poem that describes Mr. Kristol himself:

        Casabianca

    The boy stood on the burning deck
Whence all but he had fled;
The flame that lit the battle’s wreck
Shone round him o’er the dead.

        Yet beautiful and bright he stood,
As born to rule the storm;
A creature of heroic blood,
A proud, though childlike form.

    The flames roll’d on…he would not go
Without his father’s word;
That father, faint in death below,
His voice no longer heard.

        He call’d aloud…”Say, father, say
If yet my task is done!”
He knew not that the chieftain lay
Unconscious of his son.

    “Speak, father!” once again he cried
“If I may yet be gone!”
And but the booming shots replied,
And fast the flames roll’d on.

        Upon his brow he felt their breath,
And in his waving hair,
And looked from that lone post of death,
In still yet brave despair;

    And shouted but one more aloud,
“My father, must I stay?”
While o’er him fast, through sail and shroud
The wreathing fires made way,

        They wrapt the ship in splendour wild,
They caught the flag on high,
And stream’d above the gallant child,
Like banners in the sky.

    There came a burst of thunder sound…
The boy-oh! where was he?
Ask of the winds that far around
With fragments strewed the sea.

        With mast, and helm, and pennon fair,
That well had borne their part;
But the noblest thing which perished there
Was that young faithful heart.

        Author: Mrs. Felicia Dorothea Hemans

Irving would be proud.

The way to defeat McCain, should he be the Republican nominee, is to point out that the economy is tanking partially because of the clusterf*ck in Iraq, that Iraq wiped out the Clinton surplus, which could now be used to help ordinary Americans and that John McCain wants U.S. troops to remain in Iraq for the next 100 years. Ask your Republican friends this simple question: Why is it okay to flush a trillion dollars down the sewer in Iraq, but a mortal sin to spend a dime helping American citizens?

The three men I,a white male, admire most;
Jesus,
Gandhi and
Martin Luther King
They changed History without a gun or cluster bombs
Little George, not so much

NPR just now said King Day events in ATL, didn’t mention Ebenezer. That was my understanding of the venue, but could be mistaken.

Huck knows the language, betcha he’ll do fine, as will Bill.
