Just read that over there. We are losing stories for all of the sniping.
BTW, now that I can’t stomach voting for either hillary or obama, What to do? Stay home?
BTW, now that I can’t stomach voting for either hillary or obama, What to do? Stay home?
I wouldn’t. If you prefer Edwards and his policy prescriptions to those two, you should go and vote for him. The more votes he gets in the primaries, the more influence his positions will have on the platform of whoever is the Democratic nominee campaigns in the general and, hopefully, of their ultimate presidential actions.
We have to keep shining light on the “perps in office”…as time goes on, it will become clear what to do…The other humongous elephant in the room is the economic meltdown that is getting worse by the minute; especially because of the huge stockmarket drops in Europe and Asia over night. Shizzola is gonna hit the fan…probably tomorrow…that will change things dramatically. Fasten your seatbelts.
The money thieves in this country who are heavily invested in the markets are gonna get their due…
By the summer, there may be other candidates that emerge…maybe even Gore.
We have to keep the eye on the ball and not fall for all of the distractions…
I’m talking about the general. We are beating down our own candidates to the point where people will not want to support($$) or work for them. The RNC is grateful.
Anyone who believes that the Clinton’s have not interjected the issue of race in the campaign have been observing a different race to the one I’ve been observing. Why would Obama interject the issue of race…he’s not a fool.
Oh, I fully agree. I wonder if the wingnuts are beating up on their own as badly as we are. I couldn’t stand reading them before, but it might be more satisfying if they are.
I don’t watch CNN (won’t pay cable companies) — so is this typical of what passes for campaign analysis? After telling Pam and Ham to take it away, this guy (I don’t watch CNN) proceeds to hog the air, interrupting early and often.
LS, Lukery’s site is amazing, as is Larisa Alexandrovna’s on this topic. IMHO, this story will create super-seismic events if it ever gets traction here. I’m a little disappointed in Waxman for not following up, but I guess he felt the Gentlemen’s Chamber has first dibs on his loyalty, considering. Not to mention what it would do to the country.
I’m torn. I want to see all of this exposed. But it would consume us and then it would turn into another Iran-Contra, every one scott free and the rest of us wondering what the fuck it will take to get these criminals who are in charge of steering our ship of state to abandon ship.

Thanks for the link. I always believed the outting of Plame via retaliation of her husband’s NYT article was a diversion from the real story. Plame’s job was always the target.
There are a couple of really good financial analyst bloggers on Kos…Bonddad BonDad…I forget how to spell it! Anyway, I watch Bloomberg and the money shows on cable…they are real worried…
From the Times Online: “The anonymous letter names a high-level government official who was allegedly secretly recorded speaking to an official at the Turkish embassy between August and December 2001.”
Whaddya bet it’s Hastert? Vanity Fair August ‘05 article on Edmonds; she reported hearing Turkish wiretap targets boast that they had a covert relationship with a very senior politician indeed—Dennis Hastert, Republican congressman from Illinois and Speaker of the House since 1999. The targets reportedly discussed giving Hastert tens of thousands of dollars in surreptitious payments in exchange for political favors and information. “The Dickersons,” says one official familiar with the case, “are only the tip of the iceberg.” http://www.informationclearing.....le9774.htm
Oh what a wicked web we weave when first we practice to deceive
At the moment, the Brewster-Jennings link is coming from an anonymous tipster, but has seemed to corroborate Edmonds. I’ve always believed that Plame was the target and Wilson’s articles gave them a cover reason to go after her; but that’s just me.
I honestly think the Dems in Congress have decided to not provoke the rat trapped in the corner…and hope that it leaves peacefully. I’m afraid that is the wrong way to approach this…I think they should be relentlessly pursued very publicly throughout this year and brought to justice (that will never happen) for all of their crimes against this country and the rest of the world. The problem is, of course, they have the finger on the button and are perceived as having more executive power than they really have.
Those in control are very scary people, because they would resort to anything…anything. I hope the economy personally bankrupts them and all their war-profiteering companies and investments go under…just a silly dream.
Any concern that starting investigations too soon will interrupt the election? I have about as much faith in Bush resigning as I did Clinton, but the Bush crimes are much more serious (treasonous even) — any possibility this will be pursued much closer to the election, after both nominees are decided?
Thanks very much for the link. Some people though there was more to the Plame link but I gotta admit I never did. Hopefully, this will be big enough to get some attention.
BTW the NYMEX crude oil future has dropped to $88.86. The Cushing spot isn’t trading today because of MLK Day. Even the speculators are getting cold feet.
… one official familiar with the case, “are only the tip of the iceberg.”
How deep is Cheney? He was a rabid dog in outting Plame. Joe Wilson, either believed it was all about his NYT article or perhaps was protecting his wife’s life as being the fall guy and getting her out of harm’s way.
Anyone who believes that the Clinton’s have not interjected the issue of race in the campaign have been observing a different race to the one I’ve been observing. Why would Obama interject the issue of race…he’s not a fool.
It’s the only politics the Clintons and BigMedia know. Bill Clinton especially has been so worked up in his distortions of Obama it’s been weird to watch. There is so much Obama could say or bring up about the Clintons if he wanted to stoop to their level, but to his credit he hasn’t. Any sort of “negativity” I’ve seen from Obama is when he’s responding to specific lies the Clintons or the BigMedia fabricate and repeat constantly.
People have been bitching about dirty campaigning for years. Seems we should support those who are making an effort to do it differently. That way, we might actually see a change in what types of campaigning actually wins.
you can’t stay home!!!!!

I love you & FDL to death, but I think you smoked crack before this post. And I say this with the disclaimer that I hate Republicans and their lying apologists as much as anybody.
But, “Wipes the floor” could not possibly have been more off base. That conservative lady did just fine in my book. I can’t even begin to understand how you could think Pam annihilated her. She simply did not.
Bottom line, drugs are for after work, not during. Lay off the crack pipe till after hours.

Maybe it was KKKarl Rove. He’s not a fool. And, anybody who hasn’t considered that is naive and not ready for primetime or the presidency.
Hillary, despite Republican complaints, is not the Devil.
Doesn’t Barack Obama realize there are other players in this game and he might have to face them and their nasty games?
John Edwards — A Vision for America which can Unite us all!
Good morning Jane!
Jane! Pam!
How’s Katie?
Hi Jane! Hope the little one is feeling better.
GOOD MORNING! Um, why was that video interesting?
Love Pam — more please!
Just overheard a whacko coworker say “Guiliani would make a great Secretary of State.”
Please take a minute and check out this story, if you haven’t seen it….the Sibel Edmonds story and the Plame story seem to meet:

i don’t watch much tv “news,” but do all anchors now sound like they’re hosting entertainment tonight?
Of all the possible government positions for Giuliani, that one is the most laughable!
I wouldn’t. If you prefer Edwards and his policy prescriptions to those two, you should go and vote for him. The more votes he gets in the primaries, the more influence his positions will have on the platform of whoever is the Democratic nominee campaigns in the general and, hopefully, of their ultimate presidential actions.

I recommend following only the Republican candidates until November. Then decide what to do.

Great to see Pam getting her voice out to a wider audience. She’s great.
I so agree with that.

pam came across as a very credible and reasoned person.the anchor was terrible.
I should be following this more closely. Do you have a favorite blog for the meltdown, LS?

I’m with PhysioProf. I just wish I had a real primary to vote for Edwards.
Hope Katie is well. Hope everyone here is well.
Remember: Destiny has NY in it.
They say it’s Grossman (who Libby consulted)…Hastert is involved as well and is on video taking a bribe…maybe that’s why he so abruptly resigned…

That is my question too? I think the Dems will breath a sigh of relief if they see W and Cheney clearing their desks and not a minute sooner.
