Glen I got here late, but checked your book tour list for the date, and the map you used for Magers & Quinn in Mpls is way wrong. It points to E. Hennepin in NE Minneapolis, and the store is on South Hennepin, about half a block off Lake Street. You are about ten miles wrong.

Will try to make it next Friday, hopefully lots of old time Wellstonians will be there. Has anyone approached Minnesota Public Radio for either the Mid-Morning or Mid-Day program yet? Both are intelligent hour long call in programs that tend toward political topics.

I worked on Paul’s 1990 campaign for a little over a year — from when we started in a rented broom closet (literally) till we parked the bus on the Mall and had a hell of a victory party.

What you have to say above about Paul’s ideas as to how to use the resource of a Senate Office is quite parallel to how he viewed political parties. He thought they were a place to meld progressive interest groups, and give them all a much bigger megaphone. Constantly incorporating new movements and ideas into your party platform, preferably after a goodly debate, was Paul’s idea as to how to keep a party fresh. The Senate office idea is an extension of this party building idea that he worked at for years before being elected to the Senate. In fact, it is how he built his base.

Thank You Glenn Hurowitz and Chrissy for a most memorable Sunday book salon here at FDL. I look forward to reading your book and helping get the word out with my friends and family for your appearance later this month in the east Bay.

Thanks everyone; I think my time is up so I have to sign off for now. But I’ll check back and try to answer any further questions at some point. Also, feel free to email me at glenn at democraticcourage dot com. And hope you can buy the book, and more importantly, find it useful ammo for persuading Democrats that political courage can yield political success and, if that doesn’t work, to run and win progressive electoral and issue campaigns!
