sorry, IS right. Hiya Gnome.
Romney received twice as many votes as all Democrats combined. Where is Kucinich calling for election scrutiny?
Great song I really wish we could do a lot more for the Vets! Maybe when the dems get the White House and a super majority in the senate.

Thank you, Suz.
Sorry, I was listening/watching the video. Unfortunately I will still be in Florida next weekend. I don’t get home until late Sunday night.
I’ve tried to digg this post, but each time I’m being told that it’s already been submitted. Like I said last night, I am digg-challenged.
No, that’s not correct. Those are delegate counts on the Dem side. About 115,000 Dems voted and only about 44,000 Rethugs voted.
it sounds like you are trying to open a dig on the post. refresh the page and then click on it again (there should be a number on the dig thingie now)
Iraqi Shiite festival escapes bloodshed (AP)

Shiite pilgrims crowd as performers re-enact the Battle of Karbala during Ashoura observances in Karbala, 80 kilometers (50 miles) south of Baghdad, Iraq, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008. Hundreds of thousands of Shiites beat their heads and chests and whipped themselves with chains Saturday across much of Iraq to honor the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, one of their most revered saints. In case anyone’s a little down about Edwards’ numbers today, maybe you can find some solace in the words of Russ Feingold:
I like what Edwards has been saying a lot, but there’s enough about his background that’s bugged me. Would be ecstatic with a Obama/Edwards ticket nonetheless. They would win in a landslide, and there’s nothing Diebold could do about it.
Where the Feingold quote came from:

Oh thank all that might be holy! That could have caused a major ES depression..)
No strike: Amtrak, unions reach deal
from Raw Story Breaking News
Amtrak said yesterday it reached tentative agreement on a long-sought contract with 12 labor unions, averting what would have been the railroad’s first strike in its 36-year history…
Suz, brilliant — that worked, thanks!
crap, suzanne pleshette died
I agree.. all the leading candidate have a horrific records, imo.. But Edwards speaks like a Dem.. at least he informs the public in a manner in which their thinking should be (re)formed.. Contrary to all the subtle DLC triangulators who call for tax cuts and Lieber-lovin’ bipartisanship along with mandates for health care insurance companies.
damn
Tex, I wish I could be there. I hope everything goes well.
Is there still such a thing as the National Mediation Board? My grandpa worked for them from the 30’s through the early 60’s, retired as their secretary. IIRC they were all about settling railroad strikes.
Oh no. Damn.
Oh Mr.CE LOVED her.
Just posted it at my place. Thanks.
Never mind, I found it.
I saw that and I was wondering what was going on with Russ. Edwards’ voting record in the Senate was progressive but he had a few big business votes. I think his change in his political positions since about 05 are sincere. There must be more going on between Russ and John then we know about.
For those wondering why there is such strong disapproval of Obama’s Reagan comments, see Matt Stoller’s latest post at http://www.openleft.com
a taste:
That Obama did when lauding Reagan as an answer to the ‘excesses of the 1960s’ (which you can very well see is a conservative meme by doing a quick Google book search) was attack and insult the liberal traditions of feminism, civil rights, environmentalism, consumer rights, and peace movement work from that time.
And he got torched by the older liberals who lived through Saint Ronnie’s time and don’t remember it as such an optimistic time when a dynamic man reigned in government and brought back entrepreneurship (which is not in fact true).
The right creates and protects their icons and history jealously, just as they tear down our traditions and heroes or appropriate them for their own usage by claiming that our best people were in fact conservative (hence JFK becomes a strong national security Democrat who cut taxes). The past matters. It just does.
You know what else I will be missing because of this trip to Florida? Anna Margaret’s 95th birthday party. She was my neighbor who came and hung out at the first CenTex Firepup picnic. She was so excited that there were liberals taking over the “island”.
Dugg it! and dam sorry to hear about Suzanne Pleshette :>(

Ding! Ding!! Ding!!! Hear ye. Hear ye.
There a lot of reasons based on his voting record and some of his early speeches to be concerned about Edwards. But now he is talking as though he undestand the fundamental task facing the next sane president of the United States, which will be to repeal 28 years of Reaganism — yes, that includes the Clinton administration.
The other two visibly do not see that agenda at all. Peans to Reagan and the Republican Party. Announced aspirations to include Republicans in their cabinets. Endless blather about “reaching across the aisle,” oblivious to the fact that the aisle has move 180 degrees. They should indeed reach across the aisle to Feingold, Dodd, Kennedy, and the rest of the progressives in the Senate.

present company exempt, of course, right?
Edwards is the only remaining candidate that we Blue Americans will not have to treat as a hostile Rahmulan type of president. Hillary and Barack will allow if not encourage the very worst congressional candidates. I may be in a marathon but I don’t intend to vote for an additional mileage plan.
i’ve not seen pow wow since the rollout of the commenter registration at the beginning of december (iirc)

I’m really tired of this disingenuous shit that goes: “Well he didn’t say that Reagan’s changes were good, and he didn’t say that ‘the party of ideas’ had good ideas.” God damn it, he is running for the nomination to be the Democratic candidate for president of the United States. No corporation in its right mind (nor the GOP) calls press conferences to praise its competition as effective and/or innovative. And Obama is constantly doing this shit. Twice in the past week.
I think she outed herself specifically as female at one time. At least I hope I am recollecting better than Reagan..)
there was that little Raygun stunt, but one of my “favorites” was when Ronnie canned all the people of color and women on the EOC (EEOC? – Equal Opportunity Commision) commission and put a bunch of white guys on it instead.

I still can’t believe Obama did it, if I hadn’t seen the video, I’d still be a little doubtful.
It is such horrendous a break with the Democratic Party and a slap in across the face of the Democratic faithful who had to live through Uncle Ronnie.
OK, it’s lights out for me and my puppies.

I cannot make the link gizmo work, it takes me to a FDL 404 page.
Nothing Obama said about Reagan felt like a slap in the face.. though I didn’t like it at all. Kos posted a short youtube of Hillary supporting Lieberman.. which felt like a punch in the gut to me.

Edwards or Ron Paul. Otherwise, none of the above.
wow, busted, that’s just forking awesome (and well deserved i might add)
here, ES – check out Stoller’s latest I think he explains why those of us who lived through it have such a poor reaction to it…
The email’s are gonna be flying here in a bit.
Ain’t nobody gonna believe that less’n they see it themselves.
Morti Zuckerman (sp?) the billionaire who sits in on the McCoughlin group from time to time, sounded the alarm this week with declarations of the recession reaching far beyond next year and being worse than anything since the great depression.
quick, do a screen capture before WSJ see’s your blog cussedness rating
it also shocked me that Obama would admire Reagan after what he did to organizations like the EEOC (see above), not to mention what his callousness and neglect did to gay men during the height and panic of the AIDS crisis…
Reagan was a terrible president! Just terrible! Perhaps Obama loves the myth of Ronnie, but the reality was a horror show…
How ya do that?
Yes i read it.. I didn’t have as strong a reaction as he and others did.. and I was in the streets protesting No Mo Ron in Dallas RNC ‘84. Please don’t consider this a defense of Obama but I do agree with wigwams call of Edwards taking it to an extreme straw man bent. I say let Obama answer to Edwards and turn his self around or show the world in a bit more detail what his calls for bipartisanship entail. (hugging Reagan, GAH!)

I’m hoping that what he liked about Reagan was the idea of him, rather than the things he did. Because there is not much there to love.
The idea was hope, grandfatherliness, friendliness, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” “There you go again.”
In other words, feel-good pabulum.
I get that he wants to appeal to a large, large amount of voters. Maybe voters who were Reagan Democrats.
I don’t like it, but then, he was not talking to me. He was addressing those who would be swayed by that sort of message.
Wow. Thanks for that link. It’s great!
Imagine Harry Truman praising Stalin’s ability to change Eastern Europe after WWII.
He isn’t old enough to know better, but he should of done him some reading to try and understand that raygun ronnie was a nothing but a front man for the neocons! And the democrats who were adults during the eighties hated the man.
What’s on my mind? It was incredibly beautiful today. Spent the day at a ski lodge for Nordic skiiers, at a retreat where we hashed out community issues with a great facilitator, setting goals for 2008.

a stevens clan kinda of shitstorm?
Seems all I can do is bookmark it for now.
busted, maybe a firepup will *cough cough* volunteer to make a screen capture of the WSJ linking to you
Ronald Reagan and his team were brilliant political strategists. For example, per the Wikipedia:
So is it the substance of Reagan’s changes or the strategy by which he achieved them that Obama is praising. Inquiring minds want to know.
paste it into a graphics app after you hit printscreen
Suzanne, YGM ,Thats one way I guess.
Busted first that was/is a good post! As for saving the page select anywhere on the page, then cntrl a, then cntrl c, open word and paste it in …save using the Name of WSJ linked post! that should do it!
If that didn’t work for you I already have… let me know where to send it
that works, busted…
Done!
Yer talking to a mechanic here, I don’t have a clue how to do that.
I can Email it with Gmail, thats close enough.
thanks though.
I might be computer stupid but I am a resourceful little bastard.
Mentioned Token’s lavender sweater to Hal Cat, a gentleman of attitude and major aesthetic sensibilities. As we speak, he’s rustling through my scarf drawer for a suitable replacement.
Not yet. The sitting President of the Alaska Senate, a former State Senator from Chugiak, and a former governor from quite a while back. And four others. What is interesting about two of these, is that if they’re indicted, it means the Feds are going RICO, because we can’t think of anything recent they could have done, but a lot of stuff when they were in power, all tied to possible testimony given by Bill Allen and Rick Smith of Veco after they copped.
I am waiting to send it to you! It contains the WSJ page and your post. It also has the page encoding so it may need a little clean up… after you see it let me know and I can clean it up if you don’t want the encoding>

I happened to catch this Sibel update (posted by GSD earlier).
that is gorgeous ear candy and eye candy
John Edwards is talking about what needs to be done in this country. he is talking about what is wrong and who has been hurting the working class and the middle class in this country. he’s being more clear about this than either Obama or Hillary. there is no question about it. the questions for me are: 1.) toward which goals are we being lead? and 2.) how will we be lead there? Edwards is on target. Obama and Hillary are not.
at this point however, there seems less and less possibility that Edwards will have any chance at even influencing what goes on in Denver. if that be the case then i will support whoever gets the nomination, and i will support them wholeheartedly.
I worry about Sibel.
about time for me to head off to bed – gotta have the blankity blank place blanking perfect by blanking 9 o’clock in the blanking morning
On its way! Let ma know if you need it cleaned up! small fee of course
So do I.

I think that is the right thing to do and I think you will find that Edwards’ message has become part of the campaign, regardless of who is the nominee.
It may not be the central message, but it will be there. He made a difference in the discussion and the future.

gotta go run now but i just wanted to mention it.
hope you’re right. i’ll believe it when it actually starts happening ……
I recommend not letting the candidates be confident of that. Matt Stoller makes a good case that Obama got clobbered yesterday for offending the liberal vote. That’s good. He should be made to worry.
How about a little more of the same!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..&NR=1
I’m so jealous, fahrender. Glad you could be there!
May be some insurance in Murdoch having a piece of the action.
Why the liberal vote ran to HC is beyond me.
Times online is a part of Murdochs empire?
Fahrender, Please don’t ever fret about OT in late or Late Late threads.
Yesterday, Clinton beat Obama by 16% among the “very liberal” caucus goers. Here’s Stoller’s theory — see link above:
I tend to agree with Stoller on this one.
If what Edmonds says about the date the Brewster-Jennings stuff came before Edmonds, emptywheel’s going to owe me at least a six-pack about how Armitage figures into all this.
Hope you all like a little protest music

Sorry wigwam..Perhaps I should have said why the liberals ran to HC, not Edwards, is beyond me..)
Now I know what my gut has been telling me about Obama!! Go Edwards, stay in the race all is not lost until the fat lady sings
He’s had the UK Times since ‘81.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rupert_Murdoch
And Cat Stevens is no fat lady.
IMHO, the lack of media coverage led them to believe that a vote for Edwards would be a wasted vote. (A lot of “very liberal” voters don’t read the blogs, and I doubt that Nevada newspapers would be very helpful. On TV, even Olbermann hasn’t been giving Edwards much coverage, nor do his talking heads.)
Makes sense – in a ghastly way.

Good night you fabulous firedogs.
I want the next president’s first agenda to be to repeal 28 years of Reaganism — yes that includes much of what happened during the Clinton administation. From my perspective, both Obama and Clinton are very inadequate, but they’re saints conpared to the freaks and monsters the Republicans are offering.
Today, IMHO, the liberals of Nevada punished Senator Obama for his insensitivity to our cause. We may even have him worried that he needs us. We should make sure that Hillary shares his worry. I don’t want John Edwards to be the kingmaker. I want us to be the kingmaker. But we have a very short window of leverage; it may all be over as of Feb 5. So here’s a plan.
I’d like to find a way to convince both of them that the best way to lock in the very liberal vote is by rushing back to Washington to show leadership in the struggle against FISA immunity. (But I have no clue how to do such a thing.)
I’m still jazzed.
Gnite ES.

I guess that says something, maybe not so good?
lol
I agree with you…if they did rusk back to cover Dood’s back it would go along way towards maybe changing my mind about them… so for now it is still Edwards!…
But it would be worth the try… maybe we can convince the firepup gods we need to get a couple of threads going encouraging everyone to e-mail, call or what ever it takes to get their attention and to make sure this FISA crap dies the rightful death it deserves. No fucking way should the Telcos get retroactive immunity !
Thats how I had to learn… came from electronics background… hooked up with Xerox in days of copiers and drifted into the early computers late 70’s early 80’s…been dealing with them ever sense .e easy for me either!

If Stoller’s hypothesis (correct or not) appears valid to the candidates and their staffs, very liberal voters now have a lot of leverage with these candidates. Obama dissed us and paid the price. So, now we have “street cred.” But that all goes away once the outcome of the primaries becomes clear, probably on Feb 5. Gotta spend it quickly.

________
and the idea of Reagan, the image, was/is an even bigger lie than that of our other presidents. that’s why it’s so dangerous, and foolish of Obama to use it. the joke at the time was “I’m not a real president, but I play on on TV”. for those who weren’t around then, it was a parody of a commercial for something health-related (insurance?) and the actor, Robert Young, who played the title role on “Marcus Welby, M.D. would say “I’m not a real doctor, I just play one on TV.” and then give his spiel for the product. Reagan probably was a genuinely “nice guy” personally but the product that he endorsed and believed in wreaked havoc on our society, especially the working class and middle class. he was a kindly man who gave the country bitter medicine that made things worse, much worse.
we don’t even know at what point he lapsed into senility. it was certainly not long into his second term if not well before.
Great collage ES…really says it all..the bummers the cons the scene…the head trips the false hopes…the endless doorways and consrete with no way out. The concrete jungle where you of off the weakest..soo sad. So much for trickle down economics. Really a wonderful piece of work. I would like to show it to the County board of supervisors for public comment. Wr have 49 beds for 4,000 homeless.

further comment/clarification now that we’re in deepest night where you folks are:
i will continue to support John Edwards as long as he is in the contest. i fervently hope he will be able to collect enough delegates between now and summer to make necessary more than one round in Denver. i gave money to his campaign quite recently, even though things had already begun to look doubtful. he is the progressive voice. there is no other – unless Obama or Hillary start singing a different tune, and why should they?
if we want a progressive influence in Denver we’d better help Edwards get there.
.
Reaching to the progressives…not the right wing which has us in war, depression…when 1/6th of your population is homeless that is a depression…they have been reaching in the wrong direction!
Good clear point well taken.
It amazes me. The polls say that the voters are in a populist mood, and nobody will touch the populist issues.
I get the same hit.
Once again, the consultants have the ears of the candidates.
wtf
there’s a lot of hot buttons that have been long smoldering that could really ignite someones campaign if they can walk that tight rope. In the last few years my righty relatives are starting to agree with my lefty ones (with a few key issues excepted of course).
I think nobody really has a grip on how to speak outside of the interest group or perceived geographic demographic…
This surprises me as well, insisting on “Progressive” camouflage for self description rather than using “Populist” which more accurately describes the corporationist/populist issues being faced. There are such as progressive corporationists that are antithesis to progressive populists. Why muddy already unclear waters further?
Edwards is coming close. People want a fight, but he wants to fight corporations, and it’s not corporations that they are disgusted with, so far. Rather it’s Bush and the Republican party. If he wants the job, he should back off on the corps and take no Republican prisoners, e.g., hire Glenzilla as his campaign manager.
to clarify, the whole red state/blue state idea is an artificial construct and even a “purple” state is a media circus.
I’ve got to go and get some sleep. G’nite all.

I am missing my Sunday morning reading posts from Saturday evening, are Ian and Dr. Kirk postponed until later?
Good morning pups! Yes I am supposed to be on a plane, delayed til later today. What’s the latest gossip?
Congratulations Busted for being linked by the Wall Street Journal! We can say we knew you when.
eg -
Do you know which of busted’s posts the wsj linked to? I’ll not register for two free weeks of murdoch’s rag just to be able to read the whole thing. ;-(
The media is the conservative firewall against a progressive agenda. They fear the Kucinich strait talk.
They fear Edwards explanation of progressive agenda. That does not play on wall street which what they care about.
Look across the pond at Northern Europe who used WWII reconstruction to rebuild government so there safety net is their insurance against fascism.
Now we are feeling that big brother taking away our freedoms and limiting the economy to the 1% ruling class.
The ‘conservatives’know they have pushed the envelope and harvested big time. They are willing to compromise for an agenda that ‘looks liberal’ like Obama’s or Hillary. They want the neocon machinery to to stay in place. That is a part of the Obama Regan comments.
Look across the pond…the models have been constructed that enables a corporate culture willing to coexist with thw middle class. That is keeping western civilization alive. Murdoch has to know it…he is farming America like a reator does a condo complex.
Wigwam was right to ease off of her first position on the Obama/Regan story. Regan was a shiny object that the zombies in america felt good with.
The book salon comment today sugesting a need to restucture the financial instituion was done by Ronnie types who broke the system with greed. There is no conservatism any more it is long gone. What we have know is creative finance a paper bubble with economic principle of paper backed by goods and services left in the lurch.
John Edwards has a basic understanding of our problem. Without that stated the other candidates are not convinced to move away from what got us here.
Edwards is not all things to all progressives…but he will lead us down that road of a real change. Not the nebulous change of Obama that HRC is refraining.
Morning egr. Are you weathered in?
Dunno any gossip, but this am I started thinking about Eliz Edwards. Occurs to me she may be an even larger factor in his campaign than we realize. Were I she, my priorities would probably be very clear and my husband might have altered his. Seems a possible explanation for the inconsistency Russ Feingold (one of the few in DC I respect) complains of.

Not weathered in, they said its mechanical but that’s a common excuse when they have equipment mixups or crew timeouts. They wanted to rebook me on a flight that had a 40 minute connecting time, which I thought was iffy for the luggage. Hey, my little white teddy bear is in there, dont want to lose her.
Eureka’s Murdoch comment, alas I am not so clever.
That kind of crap is planned for publicity, nothing these fucks do isn’t.
(((teddy bears)))
‘Ronald Reagan is still dead’ Frank Rich

The hell is Obama about? His liason with Joe Lie..berman the war monger. I’ll go into Pakistan! Where will he take us. We may think we are the biggest gorilla on the block…Roosevelt said carry that big stick but walk softly.
Dumb shits Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld and company did not listen to the Ruff Rider. The stick is to give you extortion power in the ‘diplomacy’ area of foriegn policy. The Bushco foriegn policy is rumble until all resources are gone then let foriegn investors pick our bones.
Now that our bluff is being called our poker hand losses the pot. Neocans are irresponsible blankety blank traitors.
Take back america with Edwards.
Anybody wanna make odds telco immunity will be a critical component of the economic stimulus package?
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Kristof and Rich in the NYT today. MoDo writes about the “Red, White and Blue Tag Sale,” and says now it’s a race between Iraq, stupid, or the economy, stupid, to see which one will usher out President Bush. Mr. Kristof says one lesson of American history is that length of experience in national politics is an extremely poor predictor of presidential success. Mr. Rich points out that Ronald Reagan is still dead, and that the G.O.P. is running on empty, with no ideas beyond the incessant repetition of Ronald Reagan’s name.

If anyone needs to be reminded why we need to keep pounding the stake into St. Ronnie’s heart, I give you Doghouse Riley, who says it much better than I ever could.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got some cranberry pecan muffins all warm from the oven. Have a grand day.
Wrt to modo:
Did someone inject a few brain cells in her head while we weren’t looking?
And oh, my… Someone in his comments section tried to defend calling upon the name of St. Ronnie. Doghouse Riley then responded to the comment.
She actually, way back in the day when I was young and all, was a very good writer, with some very savvy stuff to say. I’ve wondered where that Dowd went. Maybe she’s finally angry enough to resurrect her old self.
I’ve heard that assertion made before (perhaps by you *g*); if today’s column is any example, it’s too bad she lost her voice.
Wrt to riley’s blog -
WOW! Thanks so much for that introduction! He just got thrown in the “politics” folder for daily reading.
I give you Marion in Savannah and a new day where the dissension and disrespect that reemerged this week between progressives committed to ridding ourselves of the Republicans is drowned in the good feelings for all manking that hot chocolate (well anything chococlate) brings on, first thing in the morning.
Marion, what’s your brand of cocoa? Do you do care packages to the
troopups?I am serious, if only half awake.
Somewhere on Dkos I commented that I was heartbroken and in a state of lamentation about the fact that we were writing the Right’ scripts for them. Pink Lady reported that the fighting Kossacks were become frightful to progressives outside of the Blogosphere, to be seen as conspiracy theorits. Then I read that Bloomberg met with a third party vote specialist, the one who advised Ross Perot. Heartbroken under-describes how I felt and feel now.
Who won last night beside the operatives? If we continue to battle each other this way, the right wing.
A simple please. Anyone criticizing the statement/action/youtubed behavior of candidate x and spouse x’ or surrogate x’ please provide the X that inspired the critique. And then let it rip, but one argued point at a time before concluding on why it will be a cold day in Guantanamo before you vote for x, see spouse x’ in the White House, etc.
We are (gasp) sounding like the guys who yell at each other over and over on CNN, each over renewed by some new political action or event, but always the same over, all for the case of ratings. I never watch them, but IIRC one of them is naming Novak.
Dial it down, transfer the ire into the campaign against Tweetie (button above, right) or Greenwald’s campaign against Mike Savage who makes Imus look sane, or to support Sen. Dobbs, or even (I am a realistic BlueBayStater) hating the glorious undefeated and coached by a friend of Democrats Patriots.
But not into candidate debates here at the Lake. or at Dkos. There’s a war to be won and it’s not between each other.
Now to go for the Hot Chocolate. What’ your favorite best brand of cocoa?
I got the primary blues too
Mornin’ pups
I’ve always loved Droste, Dutch cocoa.
Having been owned by two Old English Sheepdogs in this life, that title is to luv. *G*
Very good news indeed, for Alaska but also for a DOJ with a Public Integrity unit that puts Republican governor in jail, not Democratic ones. We know the main points/event of the Stevens house renovation irregularities, etc.
Can you give us the legal background for what’s coming, so we can relish it with you and for you and us. Who is the USA who is bringing the case, for example?
I’ve been reading Doghouse for a while now. Sometimes he does local politics, sometimes he talks about the lady he calls My Poor Wife and her travails in the school system, and always I enjoy reading him.
here’s the link to ET’s blog
It’s morning in America. Wake up and smell the bankruptcy:
From the WaPo
NYT did a round up on cocoas in 2002.
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/f…..cocoa+best
and a listing, with wine-like descriptions.
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/f…..cocoa+best
Droste did well.
Well, I’ll confess that I get it because it’s the cocoa my mother used to make for me. Tastes of childhood, and all that, more than any refined palate!
Well, thanks for the introduction Marion! I enjoyed it so much I dugg it
Been looking for a source for Dutch chocolate; FM doesn’t carry it, do they? Do you order from linky provided?
BSRH @ 217 -
Thankee for those refs; more options = “it’s a good thing”.
I know I’m whining, but I don’t wanna pick between Hillary and Obama.
Actually, I found it on the shelf at the Kroger in the downtown Historic District here, which surprised me. (Although that Kroger does seem to carry more of the “high end” items than the other Kroger stores in town, probably catering to the people who can still afford to live in the Historic District. Lord knows I can’t…) I’m not sure about Fresh Market — I’ll take a look the next time I’m in there.
Neither do I, but I’ll still bring my barf bag and vote for one of them in November if I have to.
Good Morning, so glad to hear Ronald Regan is still dead.
Well, we do seem to have to pound a stake into his heart every election season…
he does till haunt us
-and ever will
that s/b “still haunts us”
Yes I know hopefully this time the tip is dipped in the poison of compassionate conservatism.
It’s toolbared. We are making French toast this a.m. IIRC, it was going to be your contribution to our virtual morning after marion inspired cookbook. Or was it pancake? I have it noted but am not yet awake enough to find the print out.
Do you have a recipe that you can put here w/o too much trouble?
talking about morning after. Today it is one year to the first day of the new administratiion. -364 to a Democratic kingdom or queendom come, we hope.
ah the rapture of it (*g*).
Got the recipe upstream for f.r. waffle. now need the waffle iron.
BTW on hot cocoa. The absolute best in nyc is made by City Bakery near union Square, on 17th street, but only in season, which is now. The NYT did a line up of good h.c. places this year. but I need to make the stuff here in the BlueBayState right now , so to all I bid you good day for the day and may a game of good football by the PatPackCharIants win the Championship and the Dems take back the presidency.
Feingold doesn’t mention how how the voting records of Clinton and Obama align with his.
Here’s a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson of some relevance.
…
The other terror that scares us from self-trust is our consistency; a reverence for our past act or word, because the eyes of others have no other data for computing our orbit than our past acts, and we are loath to disappoint them.
…
A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do… if you would be a man, speak what you think today in words as hard as cannon balls, and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it may contradict everything you said today.
…
Let me record day by day my honest thought without prospect of retrospect.
…
Another RWE quote, good for an Edwards or Obama tag line.
There are always two parties; the establishment and the movement.
fahrender, follow your heart and support Edwards, he may still make it and continuing to deliver the message will keep it front and center.
If he doesn’t become the nominee, please vote for the Democratic nominee. In the meantime, I’m sure we’ll hear reasoned debate from you in support of Edwards.
BlueStateRedHead at #209 captured many of my fears. I haven’t seen it here so much, but on DailyKos, if you don’t agree they don’t want you. My personal opinion is that Kos has set the tone and it is not good. He comes across as a petulant child rather than a leader of the community. YMMV.
And he needs to be around saying it until the convention to be sure it remains on the radar.
Your link didn’t work for me, I think I tracked it down. Try this, folks.
Check out fix @173

big brother, In case you check back, here is the direct link to the youtube with the only info I know of at the moment. HTH
Hill supports the Republican-lovin’ war mongering Lieberman and Obama loves him some Reagan.
Where does that leave Democrats? Who should we support?
