Evening ES
Zed #2?
i nominate Eureka for most eclectic music taste!
Really interesting.
second it..
Artist? Help please.
EPU’d!
In response to Bustednuckles @ 237
Yeah, i don’t like the overuse of a lot of antibiotics. I only go to the doctor when i know it’s something i can’t thrash on my own. As in, i don’t go in for a sniffle! The last two years i’ve gone in? Recurrent UTIs and one nasty run in with strep throat. Which isn’t too bad a record for an asthmatic with a chronic pain condition in addition to it.
But other than my usual maintenance appointments and the surgery i had last year for the condition that causes the pain? I don’t go in for petty things. I’m actually glad i got dirty and got sick a lot as a kidlet. It’s helped me in the long run. *grin* Even with all this new stuff bugging me.
————————
And ES. I’ve got a few by these guys. I’ve been tossing ‘em at my audiences in SL. *grins evilly and grooves*
third i believe we have a consensus
the utube page says:
it appears nightmares on wax is the artist
Nite all… heading off to bed …. need to bundle up… it will be down in the 20’s tonight … brrrrr
Flip Ya Lid, sorry ES (love this)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKPr5PsHe6o
g’nite katymine
Good night and crawl under the covers with an extra blanket on top
I’m so confused. ANYWAY, it is supposed to start snowing here at any moment, for the next week. Saturday temps low predicted is 8 degrees.
A little Freddy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irp8CNj9qBI
yikes. we are gonna go below freezing again, but not a hard freeze. clear clear skies until monday or so, when another system is supposed to deliver some rain.
Sorry, I caught it at the tail end there.
I had to take a potty break and then give my cat some flyin’ lessons.
Suz did you order some fire wood?
Hey, that Busted is a scream.
Anyway, weather is always no.1 here. How are your temps?
By late spring, the dismal reality of our economc circumstances is going to have reared its ugly head with a vengence.
As we select our nomineee in this tragically premature process, we need to keep the coming abysmal economic circumstances in mind.
Here’s my contribution.
My younger son is into these guys:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOTKrnBtDg0
busted (hands on hips) was that a consentual flying lesson?
nahant, nope, gonna have to wait until the first of the month and see how the $$$ shakes out.
On a lighter moment,
OK– who knows Celtic music? Phil Cunningham? Hello?
every nite, i post the news items into the news box on the front page. it seems as if the financial news is worse every forking nite.
I wouldn’t go that far but I do see we need to work on our landings.
some roy zimmerman?
I’m kidding, jeeze.
oh my gods the fangirls. *covers ears*
Sorry, but you ain’t seen nothin yet.
If you were closer I would give you some of ours, hate to know a friend was freezing their butt off. any dead trees on the property… I have a chain saw!
She lands just fine.
semi forgiven
Really nice video and tune, worth saving for those times when you have to be sung down from the trees and chimneys.
Speaking of which, I was just reading Krugman’s for tomorrow:
when I decided to go look up some tangos. Now, that dance/music mean different things to different people, but to me it’s about maintaining poise under stress, including the stress of one’s emotions. Hence Javier and Andrea (YouTube). Watch out about 3 minutes in!
‘Nite.
Hello pups.. Just siting by the fire with a book this evening. It’s cold!! I had to dig up my old Nightmares On Wax Cd’s for a warm groove. Have we bombed anyone since i stepped away?
and another just to keep things changing time after time
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3C6AXnnjgqI
the trees are all owned by each of us. we are on 12 1/2 acres with 24 single family homes and the caretaker lives in the old lodge/clubhouse. there are down trees but i am not touching a chainsaw. i come from a long line of klutzes.
Not that i don’t like the beatles. (i’m a Beatles fangirl raised by a Mother that adores Elvis. Don’t ask how that happened, even I”M not sure.)
OH? This is one of my current and favorite earworms.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTJc3Kw_mlM
Delerium’s Aria. Featurin the Mediaval Baebes on vocals. XD
This is my genre of choice, ES. Now i need to find some Hybrid on youtube..
*goes searching*
oh double crap, nahant, i was trying to say that we all own the trees and anyone in the park can firewood a down tree anywhere on the acreage.
time for more coffee
Oh ES, please tell me that you’ve heard of Phil Cunningham and Relativity. Scottish musicians.
Sorry, no. Are they on youtube?
this one was playing on the radio when I first crossed the Bay bridge
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4QkTvK2OEw
this phil cunningham?
some songs are made for playing on the bay bridge
In the spirit of Nightmares on Wax (good stuff!) and funky DJ’s , I scared up a couple:
Eighteenth Street Lounge label Thunderball with Stereotonic http: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZAdYtQaf8Q
Bobby Hughes Experience Sahara 72 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0W7opf1Vs0
I like U2 on the Bay Bridge.
No but here is something you might enjoy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tqf19QHKr8
We saw them at SF symphony hall
Oh Suz, YES,
But the film is funky. Mr. CE is trying to find a film, we are looking at a CD “Another Musical Interlude.”
the botched Stereotonic link corrected: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZAdYtQaf8Q
i searched utube with phil cunningham and found a bunch of them. the righthand utube box below the video has a bunch more, some have better visuals than others. that one appeared to be an audience generated video.
Yes, many are audience generated video. That is what we love about them. We’ve loved Phil for 25 years. Hiya!
your facebook picture is gorgeous? is that your place?
And, he has even visited here. Do you like Celtic music? I didn’t even ask.
both are good but I can say I like Sahara 72 a bit more.
i like a wide range of music. sometimes, i’m in the mood for bagpipes and fiddle – others, hard electric guitar.
My Facebook picture is an Andrew Wyeth painting. I love Chester County, Pennsylvania, where I grew up. I miss it so.
that is one subjet around here we agree on good music is good music… we have a very eclectic tastes in music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt0mc28dOYk
good is pretty much my criteria – if it is good, i like it. good can be anything from rap to classical to swing but usually does not involve opera.
Ignore the snarky anime fan video love. The song used?
Karsh Kale’s Distance
Is an example of what you’d hear in europe and most of the ME as well. In the places where clubs are allowed(and sometimes not), they’ve their own versions of electronica and groove. I’ve been obsessed with the ME sound as of late, and that includes sounds from out of the UK’s artists that do things like this. Like Zohar and Karsh Kale.
*sighs happily* (and they wonder why i love music…THIS is one of the things that all cultures have in common. Music.)
here is Fleetwood mac in one of their best
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Csatmi34YEk
You know Suzanne,
I found opera great housekeeping music!
I’ll give everything a listen once, but i tend to avoid most ‘new’ country and especially the new rap and hiphop. Neither of them have gotten out of their crap glam periods. Other than that? My tastes are insanely eclectic, but my favorite listens have been techno based or japanese pop and rock (or any combo thereof)
hard rock and roll for house cleaning
Never could stand much opera while in Germany I used to visit distant relatives and Walter loved his German opera… so it was his beer (and plenty of it) so I listened
My favorite tastes of late, even. I MISS edit! *flails*
another FM fav

howdy late night crew. is the party winding down already?
Hey now no pouting allowed here :>)
for alias
Outnumbered in what way?
(((selise)))
Na just the music is playing …can’t you hear it?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QkzNLdSp0k
:P
nahant, replied even
um, i’ll save it for the am… trying to fall asleep now, last thing i need is upbeat rock-n-roll. like suz said, that’s house cleaning music.
i’m tired from forking housecleaning all day, selise. for sleep, try this
I think more in my music tastes, ES. Not many techno lovers among this little family. But i’m an aberration in that kind of taste even among my friends. If i was in canada or in the UK it wouldn’t be much of an issue, but over there THAT is mainstream and any new things their scenes can come up with.
Over here? Not so much. So in some ways i’m ‘ahead’ of the game in terms of techno. Not that i don’t like the stuff played here, and have mucho respect for it as well. Then i remember that over here? Techno is an aquired taste, particularly the obscure stuff.
Dam ya know when you use rules to filter your e-mail you don’t get the little letter in the notification bar at the bottom,
Well please don’t have any of these

CIA Places Blame for Bhutto Assassination
Funny how Cheney has been planning on sending the CIA into that very area for a long time.
perfect. your house must be cleaner than i can even imagine.
nahant – lol, definitely for the am!
I am very selective when it comes to techno.. And yes, Europe is the place to be for that particular genre.
Well here is just the thing to go to sleep to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtsykR9k_9Y
have that one qued up next for the news ticker, es
Oh my.. the ticker never ends..)
I’ve played this one before. Found in my perusing of japanese artists.
The vocalist Origa is russian, but she’s fluent in english, japanese, her native language and likely italian too. She’s had classical vocal training and ended up recording in japan and staying there. *grin* If you’ve seen the openings to any of teh Ghost in the Shell TV shows, you’ve heard her work.
Origa–Diva
This is from her Era of Queens CD.
nope, and the lake never closes :)
Apparently Bush’s favorite painting doesn’t mean what he thought it did. Heh.
My favorites tend to be combinations of classical orchestra and beats. Hybrid is probably one of my favorite artists for that. There are a few others i’ve found and a few soundtracks out of japan that also use that for background music for tv shows too!
If i didn’t need to keep a roof over my head i would have gone into music production myself. As it is? When i DO get that Music Recording Tech degree (eventually), i’ll likely end up moonlighting and doing that. For now i’m just concentrating on making a living. Music is and always was my first love. Any guy i date has to compete with that and my sheer girlgeekery. If they can’t keep up? Too bad.
I love progressive house music but I listen to it by myself mostly and don’t foist it on others. I’ve been finding shows like John Digweed’s Transitions radio mixes and Brazil’s Hernan Cattaneo metrodance radio series. The sound production is truly out there these days. With a trained ear, you can pick up on some amazing nuance that’s being created today with software for electronica.
This is an oldie electro-lounge track from the 90’s that is pure mollasses:
Towa Tei: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGhbKpj9NjE
Like others here, I appreciate any music that is inspired. I love it all.
spew
I think that’s half my love of it. I DO have a trained ear, from my days as a choral vocalist. So i hear all the little things a lot of others miss in the music. Or i can just enjoy the pounding beats while dancing. Well, when i was clubbing regularly once a upon a time i did. That and there’s an amazing amount of creativity in it, when you think about it.
Shit I hope he gets caught!!! With his accomplice dickey boy himself!
About 15 years ago I quit trying to keep up with categories of music.. I mean once Punk took over the term Ska…. Ska will always be Jamaican to me.
all that forking housework today leaves me one tired firepup. g’nite all. tomorrow is the last day of forking cleaning to get it shipshape again. the little cottage by the creek in the redwoods will be all pretty and shiny for showings as of saturday morning.
i hate (yes i said the h word) the forking merrygoround and hoops the forking real estate market has me jumping through. it has been almost a forking year! (muttering as i head down the hall)
I know the feeling. There’s so many sub genre it’s insane. But i at least keep up on the sub genre of techno at the least. The mainstream is easy to shove into a category just by its sheer nature.
If selise is still up here is one for a cold winters night…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va4w0y08l60
Good Night Suz and cuddle up with Token he will keep you warm:>)
Rest well Suzanne. I am thinking SOLD for ya!

Slick.
Niiice call. Never heard that before and definitely enjoyed it.
Marden Hill has one CD I highly recommend if you can find it. it’s titled “Get Some In” Excellent all the way through, including that cut I just linked.. I don’t recommend any other CD of theirs.. unless it’s dirt cheap and in front of ya.
Well it’s almost 2:30 in NW Arkansas and I just tossed a few big round logs on the fire for the duration of the night and George Winston is lulling me towards sleep. I think I will go with the flow.
Good night all fabulous firedogs.

Long day at work. Feeding the pup. Anyone up?
I just woke up, ET. Fell asleep DURING Keith. Don’t know what’s up with sleep patterns…Up and having coffee now cannot be a good thing on Pacific time…
Just shook off a cold, and here I am out in my shop where it is about 40 degrees, reading legal papers on the upcoming Exxon Valdez case before the Supreme Court.
Brrr. Hard to believe that case is still open. Pretty sorry situation when you can’t trust the supremes though. I’m upstairs reading Marcy.
