You might also want to mention that California is not a winner-take-all state at all. In fact, it’s the FURTHEST THING FROM IT; each Congressional district has a separate election and the winner of that district gets those particular delegates.

More genius from Special Ed.

I feel deeply sorry for those who hold investments in Newcastle and Eurocastle (subsidiaries of Forteress Investment Group). The former has dropped from $29 to $9 a share on the NYSE, while the latter has plunged from 47 Euros to about 15 Euros on the European Markets. Several millionaires are likely wondering what happened to all their “paper-wealth” that got tied up in the sub-prime market.

FWIW- I think Bill Clinton -based on the above confrontation is now clearly over-the-top and out-of-line and will be increasingly seen as a MAJOR problem for Hillary. The anger there is raw (and potentially dangerous in terms of any campaign he is part of).

down 300 points! Jeez.

The “They” were saying six months ago that 12,500 DOW was the “firewall” number..went below that yesterday and today 12,159. It’s going into “free fall”. Anyone know what the new “support” number is?

Fortress Investment Group

Private Equity Funds
The private equity business primarily makes significant, control-oriented investments in North America and Western Europe, with a focus on acquiring and building asset-based businesses with significant cash flows. Fortress also manages a family of ‘‘long dated value’’ funds focused on investing in undervalued assets with limited current cash flows and long investment horizons.

Hedge Funds
The hedge fund business is comprised of two business segments: (i) hybrid hedge funds – which include two sets of funds, one set that makes highly diversified investments globally in undervalued and distressed assets, including loans, assets and corporate securities and another set of funds that invest with a broad mandate, similar to endowment portfolios of large universities; and (ii) liquid hedge funds – which invest globally in fixed income, currency, equity and commodity markets and related derivatives to capitalize on imbalances in the financial markets.

Castles
The Castle business is made up of two managed publicly traded companies, Newcastle Investment Corp. (NYSE: NCT) and Eurocastle Investment Limited (ENXT: ECT).) The Castles currently invest primarily in real estate and real estate debt investments.

The question for the republicans this year is whether ideological purity trumps pragmatism. If it does, we win for sure I think because it’s gonna be either frothing-at-the-mouth Huckleberry or Romney. If not, it’s gonna get butt-ugly and I hope HRC is not our candidate.
