My greatest weakness is being overly tolerant of imbecile pundits who are assigned to “moderate” debates.
I don’t know if they “take orders from” this guy or that guy.
But they are arrogant. Russert thinks he’s the ninja of slice-n-dice gotcha interviews. Brian Williams thinks he’s a genius journalist. They have an infotainment bias. Make everything a gossip fest, whip up false outrage, humiliate the guests, nitpick until they quiver. It’s easier than actually doing research, understanding complex issues, understanding nuance and the impossibility of simple answers.
Charlie Gibson didn’t think professors in N.H. earn over $100,000 because he takes orders from anyone…it’s because he’s a rich arrogant elitist who doesn’t know what’s really going on out there. And he doesn’t really care.
