If that’s true, as a liberal, I think a little ass-kissing is in order. I’d like to see the candidate who is brave enough to go against Rush Limbaugh’s decades of denigrating me and tell me they think being a liberal is a good thing.
Also, both Clinton and Obama are good pals with Rahm Emanuel. A hundred bucks to the first person who asks either of them, on video, what they think of Rahm’s enforcement-only immigration bill which has no path to citizenship.

Most colleges have policies that don’t allow organization that discriminate on sexual orientation to recruit on campus. Thus no military recruiters. Once DADT is repealed and LGBT can serve in the US military, ROTC and recruiting can resume.

My guess is he would be for it. He is a Bush lackey. He is bought by special interests. His big campaign platform was ethics reform. The one thing he is not planning to reform is a loophole in LA campaign finance laws which allow people with multiple LLCs to donate for each and every LLC that they have.
The Jindal faction wants reform and I am sure much of it is a very good idea but the one thing they benefit from is that company loophole. As far as I am aware they are not addressing it.
My guess is it would not be a problem for Jindal, particularly if it “created jobs” in Louisiana.

As to the education angle, why not get away from the idea that everyone needs an MBA? There is a huge need for skilled tradespeople. Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, mechanics cannot be outsourced overseas, and those are good paying jobs. Not everyone is cut out for college.

But that’s likely influenced by Hillary being the only one) other than Kucinich and Richardson…to be on the ballot. I don’t understand THAT, though? Why weren’t the other candidates even listed? But to be quite explicit. These are not credentialed delegates. They can’t come to the Convention unless there is an agreement by the other tickets to allow them in. Because for an awful lot of poor folks in rural America, hunting is one of the main ways they put food on their tables. But maybe I see much more fo that living in WV, having grown up here in a hunting and fishing family, and knowing that our well-stocked freezer got us through many a winter when I was a kid and our budget was tight. Yes. That is another side of what I am saying. It is important that folks can hunt for so many reasons. I personally know lots of these gun toting folks. I am probably as liberal as they come but personal experience tells me that the guns are already out there. You can’t take them back, so we may as well be as well armed as the criminals, terrorists, etc.
If the bad guys can get the guns we should be able to as well if we want them.
I do believe in waiting periods and background checks.

Someone should point out that the individual that likely saved the most Allied lives in WW2 was a young intelligence officer by the name of Alan Turing, who, along with John von Neumann, could easily be considered the father of the modern computer. A lot of people believe that DNC will give Michigan back their delegates after a winner is selected, EW among them.
The reason the other candidates weren’t listed in Michigan is that they withdrew by their choice in deference to the DNC’s sanctions of Debbie Dingle, and Levin and the people in Michigan who puashed the primary date up. Obama and Edwards also thought it would help them in Iowa and New Hampshire if the complied with the DNC and didn’t allow Michigan to get such an early primary. There they seem to miscalculate because it probably didn’t help them against Hillary in NH anyway.
Hillary chose to stay on the ballot which won’t have any significant effect except to help her get tickets to Denver or falsely claimsome meaningless victory in Michigan to try to help her in future primaries, but Michigan probably won’t. NV and SC will of course be important.

“Homeland” belongs where I first saw it, in Henrich Ibsen plays I had to read in grade school.
MrWhy — Having worked with a lot of impoverished folks in my legal practice, both doing criminal and abuse and neglect representation in private practice and then on the other side of things as a prosecutor, for some folks on the edge, it can be the difference between eating and going to bed starving. As can having a garden and canning the produce therefrom.
There are people who live hand to mouth far more than most folks in America realize. It is a quiet problem precisely because a whole host of people are too embarassed to admit how close to the edge they are really living. And, having worked so much with the children in these families, and seeing what malnutrition and other problems can do to those kids, yes, it can be very important for some folks. Very much so.
And it isn’t just in WV. It’s all over Appalachia, the Great Plains and the Rockies. Starvation in rural areas among the poor who have little to no job or education opportunities, and whose families are in a cycle of poverty is a huge problem…and one that gets far too little attention because they aren’t the folks who can afford to hire the likes of Jack Abramoff.

I lived Maine for five years and met quite a few who lived close to the edge and if they couldn’t hunt & fish they would go over the edge. By they were fine people and I made many friends with them.. Some just don’t understand being spoon fed all their lives!! You tell her Christy!
