Quite frankly, I was surprised to see the NYT allow Mr. Hoyt to express his distaste for his bosses’ hiring of Bill “The Bloody” Kristol.

However, I was not at all surprised to see the NYT hire Kristol. It’s how the Mafia operates…the Bush Criminal Syndicate rewards one of their “players” for being loyal and doing a good job, no matter how immoral or repugnate than job was.

Anyone with any moral precepts and familiar with Kristol can only be repulsed by his opinions and his record. The fact that an obvious loser/jerk/idiot like Kristol would be rewarded with a NYT columnist position simply proves that the Times is a conspirator in the Bush effort to establish a Nazi government in the United States. Nazism, racism and deception is okay as long as the Jews are invited to be a part of it. Before the Zionists made an evil pact with the nut-job neocons, Kristol’s performance would have gotten him banished to writing Eskimo stories in Alaska.

I am encouraged by the fact that most, if not all, of my Jewish friends are rallying against the evils of Zionism and its repugnate philosophy of hate. (Don’t take my word for it. Do your own research, Google “Zionism”)

I knew the good Jews would come through for what is right.

Let’s just face the facts. Sulzberger, Keller, and Rosenthal are major league journalistic hacks and assholes. They all did indeed support the insupportable Judith Miller and Michael Gordon. The NY Times was one of the main media mouthpieces for the preemptive, bloody, and totally unneccesary War on Iraq. They printed the lies of the Bush Administration (WMDs and aluminum tubes) and they supported the invasion of a country that was absolutely no imminent danger to the U.S. Certainly, they are are all “tools” of the Bush Administration, whether they call themselves “Democrats” or not.

Clark Hoyt has been a real disappointment at the Times. IIRC he was at Knight Ridder and directed a few of the reporters who actually did real reporting on doubts about WMD in the run up to the Iraq war.

You have to wonder what it would take for Hoyt to actually come out flatly and say that something was an awful idea. If he barely bats an eyelid at “Always wrong” Kristol, then I doubt there is anyone on the planet who would trigger his displeasure.

At first I thought the Times hired Kristol for his shock value, that it wasn’t what he said that mattered but that people would react strongly to him. In other words, they would read the Times if only to get mad and condemn him. It would sell newspapers. But I don’t think that so much anymore. I think the Times hired Kristol because Sulzberger, Keller, and Rosenthal love neocons. On the news side, Keller keeps the likes of Michael Gordon around. On the editorial page, Rosenthal gives plenty of space to every stray neocon who wanders by going from one bar to another

I would respect McConnell if he’d come right out and say waterboarding is torture. But the stuff that he said is already a valuable contribution. All of this torture is done in the name of “national intelligence,” and here is the Director of National Intelligence saying explicitly that the reason that he couldn’t be more specific is that “if it ever is determined to be torture, there will be a huge penalty to be paid for anyone engaging in it.”

That’s not terribly courageous, but he couldn’t be more explicit and still keep his job. It’s definitely helpful.
