Ann, this really isn’t correct. Only certain fundamentalist Muslims act this way. There is an enormous range of “strictness” among the world’s two billion or so Mulsims–all the way from fanatics, like the Taliban, to very secular ones. I know a Turkish woman, for ex., who didn’t even know if she was Sunni or Shia until she had to apply for a passport. Painting all Muslims with the same brush only plays into the fearmongering of Darth et al.

I know some African guys with multiple wives; they’re allowed four if they can support them properly. One of them has 3 wives in Senegal, and I always saw him here with a pretty girl on his arm auditioning to be his fourth. He did throw a lot of money around, though, and that is always a draw.

Senators/Reps’ employees are usually paid by the State their employer represents. They probably are convered by whatever insurance program their state civil service employees have.

So they HAVE health insurance, but it’s not FEHB… Someone probably doesn’t know there’s a difference.

Employees of members of Congress are not considered Federal employees and are not covered under the FEHB.

Looks like all the current congress critters can use FEHB for campaign staff as well as regular staff, but Edwards has to make other arrangements. And Kucinich could use NEHB as well if he wanted to.

That’s interesting. FEHB is Federal Employees Health Benefits, which would lead you to believe that candidates’ staff would be considered civil service employees. If it’s talking about office staff, all Democrats except Edward’s staff would be considered Federal employees. That includes Kusinch’s congressional staff.
