This has been botherin’ me. how come after edwards is outspent a gazillion to one, the line was “Edwards must win Iowa.” I thought he finished a credible 2nd. Nope, I’m told. He lost. It’s a 2 person race. Tonight, the first time I saw the msnbc ticker with poll numbers @ the bottom of the scree it only had BO & HRC for the dems but had Willard, McKing and Huck for the Repugs. Huck got in and he’s pollin’ 13%. Edwards got left out and he’s pollin 19-20. Go figger. (They included Edwards later on.) But I just don’t get the “Edwards had to win Iowa” line and the extension of that - that he lost by finishing second and therefore can be ignored. what’s the explanation?

In sonoma county most of the Ron Paul signs are “homemade” and they use that sort “critical mass” model for campaign management
Paul says the guy who raised all the money online is a volunteer and he has never met him. So I think it’s kind of laisse faire rather then corrupt after all he does not believe in government regulation so this may just be their form of civil disobedience.
It would be interesting to see their filings.

So, who’s good at sussing out motivations? As, why would Lieberman want to be Lieberman? What’s he getting out of it at this point? The thing that jumps out at me is that he has become the one person who is spoken about as favored by powerful persons in both parties (here, both Reid and McCain, e.g.). Thus, no matter what party wins what, he has at least a shot at being close to power.
Now, that is a pretty unusual maneuver to have pulled off. I am not sure you can do that without trying. Which brings up the question above: why?
And is it something that you would have come up with on your own? Or would it have been suggested to you by an interest group?
