It is obvious that O’Reilly is doing this on purpose. Don’t be fooled, folks. The bad press he gets is just what he wants. He is not speaking to the U.S.

He is speaking to the violent extremists. It’s simple:

1. He acts like this.

2. Some violent RW nut attempts to assassinate a Dem candidate.

3. O’Reilly declares, “It is them personally. *I* had nothing to do with it. Personal responsibility, you know.”

Hasn’t it happened enough that Americans see it already?

Here’s a few bit of info on Obama v. Edwards:

Obama -
1. Demanded the DLC remove his name from their list -put there by a party insider without Obama’s permission. 2. Voted with the majority of Democrats in support of Senator Diance Feinsteins bill to place a moratorium against the use of cluster bombs in civilian areas. Hillary Clinton joined with all of the Republicans and a few Moderate Dems to defeat her own colleagues bill. Hillary the mother, the ‘most admired woman in America -voted for the ‘right’ to use those child maiming flesh searing toylike bomblets -on civilians. 3. Voted against the war from day
Hillary -0ut, Obama -1

Edwards -
1. First year in the Senate vote with the Republicans for that rotten pro-business Bankrutpcy bill. Not even Clinton joined in on that.
2. In that same bill Edwards also voted against Paul Wellstones Amend. re the anti low -income Means Test provision. 3. Gave up a precious southern Democratic Senate seat -because he was afraid of losing his re-election.
3. Voted for the war.
Edwards -OUT, Obama -2

Obama is not perfect but he’s inspirational, and never ever showed signs of weakness or doubt, and never pandered to anyone. Choosing instead to be fair to both sides.

Important especially if our foreign policy in the Middle East means anything to you.

I try not to go to Dkos at all since his pre-Iowa infantile rants. Too bad because some of his diarists are great but I don’t want to add to DKos traffic. Many of the diarists can be found in other places.

I’ve not see any Obama hating around here. It’s more a concern that he does not represent progressives. He has a good message – “change” – but so far it’s all generalizations. Nothing specific. He has used ‘Republicle’ talking points like Social Security being in trouble, for one. He’s either knowingly making false statements or hasn’t done his homework. In short, he’s done nothing to reassure people here at FDL or other progressives that he will govern towards the progressive side, protect the Constitution, deal with economic inequality, etc.

Edwards is a fighter and as a trial lawyer has demonstrated he will fight for the little guy. I wish we could get into Obama’s head and find out what he’s really thinking, that maybe what he’s been doing (and not doing) is a ploy to endear him to the media, corporations, etc. just enough to get elected, and then would actually govern in a way that is actually progressive. Maybe Jane or Christy or someone could have a heart-to-heart talk with him, just to find out.
