It’s all very friendly, nobody’s pissed.

Hi Jane, thanks again.

Hi Jane. I am pleased so far.
I’m gonna make popcorn. Who wants some?
Oh, no, Noron coming up to lend her “wisdom” to KO’s show.
Does anyone have an idea of how long the process may take in larger precincts/towns/cities? Will this drag on into the wee smalls?
On CSPAN: Jane is standing right behind the people who are urging the non-viables to switch to their favorites. What did they decide, Jane
??
I agree ! this sure is nailbiting

At the HS where Jane is, one group of “non-viable” people are debating whether to go to Edwards or Obama.

Watching both—switching back and forth. Haven’t had a Jane sighting yet. I guess my timing is off.
Again, I don’t like the trend lines.
Edwards seems to be leading in actual results. Why does Olbermann keep repeating entrance polls, which had Obama ahead.

Thanks for live blogging this. Is Warren County in yet? I tried to look at the county results online and I am getting a bad link.

Lahoma suggests we go down to the basement and that she beats me at a few games of pool. Then we go upstairs and watch a movie she rented. And then go to bed. She feels the “results” are making me nervous. So I say, that’s perhaps a good idea. Besides I know there are two laptops in the bedroom. And long about 2 or three am she will awake and find me on the internet and say something like kiddo, “come to bed”. And I’ll say in a minute. Mr. and Mrs. America. That’s us.

Well, seeing as Hillary has been crowned and touted as the given by God for months now to see her in third is big. Very, very big.
FWIW, the Richardson campaign unequivocally stated today that they told their supporters to make up their own minds. There was no deal on votes shifting from them. So don’t blame Richardson unduly on that one — Biden, Dodd and Richardson were all in that same camp with statements from all of their campaigns to that effect today.
That’s strange since I just heard the Richardson thing repeated on CNN radio about 10 minutes ago.
What does this mean!?
Should they – NO. Will they – a distinct possibility.

The delegates selected tonight, to the county conventions, are not bound to vote in any way by these results. At the county conventions, those delegate elect similarly un-bound delegates to the State Democratic Convention, where similarly un-bound delegates to the National Convention in Denver are chosen.
So, no, tonight’s results mean nothing with regard to actual delegate count at Denver this summer.

Thanks, Blub- interesting Freddie is viable… keep the results coming!
I am looking at results on iowacaucusresults.com and with a little over half the precincts reporting, the gap between No. 1 Obama and No. 3 Clinton is less than three per cent. If it stays like this or anything close to like this, how can anyone call any candidate a winner or a loser?
Are New Hampshire primary voters so awed by 3 point margin that they would figure the primary campaign is pretty much over?
Are we, as citizens of a putative democratic republic, so dull-witted as to be swayed by a 3 point margin in a small, rural state?
Whatever happens tonight and later in New Hampshire, we really need to put an end to this stupidity.

Earlier TeddySanFran was talking about how this one is going to be spun.
If the final results look like the 55% results, and it’s 34-31-31, the 31’s will call it a three-way tie. And once the hundreds of state delegates are converted into the much smaller number of national delegates, that’s exactly what it will be.
I’m pleased with Edwards #’s irregardless, he is still a viable contender and cannot be ignored… Bill was only the third placer in his Iowa caucus during his initial run…

Giuliani is gone entirely, it seems. Thompson and McCain are essentially tied at 14% and 12%. Huckabee is at 36%, Romney at 23%. (Fox results in a video clip at TP.) From this side of the tracks, it has been hard to say whether one of those aspirants was much better than the others, but apparently if you are a Republican, you can tell the difference. Must be an acquired taste.

Who the heck did Dean’s makeup? Fire him!
one wonders why Mrs. Greenspan, an obvious Hillary-hater, was assigned to cover her. Mrs. G saying that the gathering at Hillary HQ is an incredible fake, manufactured, etc.
Not that I have anything against Hillary-bashing.
P.S. And *still* – nobody even mentioning Edwards’ name. geez.

Well, just back from being completely and utterly unable to access this site for quite some time. There’s obviously either a server or a band width issue that has been getting worse as the evening wears on.

how disappointing. Now we’re going to get the kumbaya campaign . . . can’t we just all get along?
Wait until they start swiftboating Obama. Fasten seat belts.

in what way?
the kids really turned out for Obama…
Hi Loo Hoo, you okay?
this site is very very slow tonight. that is, when it’s not locking me out completely.
Hiya.
I have a question.
I know what a firewall is on my computer but what is a firewall in politics and why is it they said that Hillary doesn’t have one?
how disappointing. Now we’re going to get the
kumbayaRodney King campaign . . . can’t we just all get along?Wait until they start swiftboating Obama. Fasten seat belts.

Best news of the day: The Media can’t (yet) credibly count Edwards out.
No, wait . . . eeven better news: people will actually listen to what he’s saying.
(BTW: I hope my problems getting this to post means a ton of people are logged on and reading fdl)
Obama and Edwards as the top two. Far from my worst case scenario.
I’m not sure Obama will get totally smeared if the huckster gets the R nom… tweetie will go all silly on Obama’s manliness…
my fear is all that bipartisanshipedness will make Obama very ineffective as pres… we gotta unique opportunity coming up here next term… lots could get done…
LooHoo – we’ve got a LONG way to go before this is over…
A political firewall is more like the firewall in your car: the engine can burn but the firewall between the passenger compartment and the engine will give you time to get out before you get burnt. IE, plan A for taking Iowa didn’t work, I have a plan B for taking the rest without having taken Iowa. She doesn’t really have that, her campaign was built on her inevitability, and now that it’s shaken with a third place finish in Iowa, she’s got a lot of plan B to come up with.
Toobz flowing a little better. Is this good for Edwards?
Christy’s upstairs, guys.
This is impressive for Obama. Edwards had a good showing.
