Where I'm at, they've just announced that Dodd, Kucinich, Biden and Richardson are not viable. Their supporters have 15 minutes to realign.
It's all very friendly, nobody's pissed.

Hi Jane, thanks again.
I liked the first numbers. The trend lines, not so much.
Zed. the top three are sure closing together

Hi Jane. I am pleased so far.
I’m gonna make popcorn. Who wants some?
Oh, no, Noron coming up to lend her “wisdom” to KO’s show.
Does anyone have an idea of how long the process may take in larger precincts/towns/cities? Will this drag on into the wee smalls?
On CSPAN: Jane is standing right behind the people who are urging the non-viables to switch to their favorites. What did they decide, Jane
??
I agree ! this sure is nailbiting
[hand waving wildly] Me, ME, MEEEE!!!!

Well now, wouldn’t it be interesting if it’s Edwards, Clinton, Obama at the end of the night.
Hey Bob,
I’ve got chocolate. Come on over!
Ah, memories of primary night in CT . . . . .
Thanks CTBob. I’ll have a bowl.

At the HS where Jane is, one group of “non-viable” people are debating whether to go to Edwards or Obama.
Rev Deb - can you watch this on CSpan - fascinating and Jane is in the caucus room. Edwards been in the lead since the get go.
Is it just me, or did FDL just go constructively dead in the water?

Still no counties complete
Watching both—switching back and forth. Haven’t had a Jane sighting yet. I guess my timing is off.
Again, I don’t like the trend lines.
Edwards seems to be leading in actual results. Why does Olbermann keep repeating entrance polls, which had Obama ahead.
KO: “We were expecting a closer race than this. We’re sorry to disappoint you.” About the Dems.
Jane,
Thanks for live blogging this. Is Warren County in yet? I tried to look at the county results online and I am getting a bad link.

Between the live coverage on C-SPAN2 and the results being posted immediately on http://www.iowacaucusresults.com/, I’m having a great time!
Too bad Dodd and Kucinich aren’t putting on much of a show…sadly, the MSM had more to do with who’s leading than the candidate’s words and actions.
I think what he said was “if you were expecting a closer race than this…”

Didn’t MO or IL once elect a deceased man to congress?
Not just you, Marion. Couldn’t get on for 5-10 minutes.
watch out for the stealth wave of support for Gravel…
Yeah, I turned on Keith [after returning from picking up college-age kid @ train station] and was panicked with the “Obama’s winning” meme. Then I came here & felt a LOT better!!
What’s decided is that it is a 3-person and not a 2-person race.
Freddie might have discovered the true art of non doing, directly contradicting my 21 years of research in yoga/meditation ! *g*

i like the way a group of people are self-counting = all put up their hands, one starts the count with “one!” and points to another person with hand up, puts down hand. Pointed-to person counts, points, puts down hand..

yup, Tex - that sounds right…
Oh Keith, quit asking Tweety for his “opinion.” He doesn’t know shit.
That was MO. They preferred the dead dem to the live repig. Smart people.
We’re nearly @ the 1/3rd mark…

Looks like it needs to be increased. Too many glitches.
Darn. My smile just turned into a frown.
Stranger! Vas Los?
Lahoma suggests we go down to the basement and that she beats me at a few games of pool. Then we go upstairs and watch a movie she rented. And then go to bed. She feels the “results” are making me nervous. So I say, that’s perhaps a good idea. Besides I know there are two laptops in the bedroom. And long about 2 or three am she will awake and find me on the internet and say something like kiddo, “come to bed”. And I’ll say in a minute. Mr. and Mrs. America. That’s us.
Tweety finally shows his cards: “Edwards is a guy like Hubert Humphrey, who wants to redistribute wealth in America.” DFHs gonna move into your house on Martha’s Vineyard, Tweety. Remember that scene in Dr Zhivago??
We may see numbers slow as we get into larger precincts where they need to repoll on viability issues.

Good news, she deserves all the ill will she gets on that front, IMO.
Des Moines Precinct #53 reporting 3 delegates alloted to Obama, 2 to Edwards, 1 to Clinton. [via C-SPAN]
excellent news.
Dang, Huckster is being called the victor…
Hate to sound stupid but what does that mean?
where on-line can i see the results for the republicans? i’ve got the site up for the dems.
solai: officially the answer is that zero of Obama’s caucus supporters are Republicans, since you have to be a registered Democrat to caucus. However, you can register or switch your party affiliation on-site AFAIK, so some of them might have been Republicans before.

Thanks so much for reporting in — and, evern more so, thanks so much for participating. Good on ya!
Any details you can share about how things worked in your precinct? Surprises about the process? Any talking points you found memorable — either from your candidate (which I think was Edwards wasn’t it?) or the others?
Thanks for your report, Colleen. How does it feel to not have to pay attention to the election until November?
Anyone who is even *aware* of her stance on video games probably feels negative about it. It’s just not a winning move.

Can someone explain whether if Obama, Clinton, and Edwards end up within a couple percentage points of each other, the exact order means anything for the ultimate nomination?

The reports regarding Richardson throwing his support were quite thoroughly denied by the campaign and the candidate, fwiw
With the top 3 inside a 2.00% range, is there any way the MSM can deny Edwards the coverage he deserves?
