While I have no statistics, it is not hard to extrapolate that there are likely to be wind farms across Iowa that one cannot see from the highway. Prairie states are sprouting wind turbines like the suburbs sprout strip malls. My sister’s ambition, in yet another midwest state, is to take the family farm off the grid. It’s not like folks out here don’t think about and take action on this stuff.
