What sucks is that we get nothing for the money.

This reminds me of the line from Alice’s Restaurant where Arlo is in jail and the other guys ask him what he got. He said he didn’t get anything, he had to pay to have the dump cleaned up and for court costs.

You’re right, we don’t get anything for the money. We just have to pay it and pay it and pay it. Somebody else (I wonder who) gets the money.

As we speak, the National Guard are depleted, and literally hundreds of the fighter jets that protect the country are grounded. They are borrowing National Guard from other states all over the country, and they are borrowing Canada’s airforce to protect us. That is a bad scenario.

Maybe it means all their attempts to attack Iran and to stir up trouble have failed, so they’re now disarming domestic America and begging for somebody to attack us. After all, it takes two to have a war, even if we have to arm the “enemy”.

Of course, this Pakistan thing might be their latest “product rollout”. Maybe they think they can embroil us in a war over there (betting on Obama?) for ever.

“Endless war for endless profits!” should be the Republican party campaign slogan.

Pull up the December 5th W/J amd listen to the tone of the callers and the obvious nervousness of the host… Callers that day wanted Bush’s head on a platter. It was the day after the NIE report on Iran. The anger crossed the political spectrum. I agree with much you say, not all, however your basic premise is correct and on point. I don’t know who he thinks he is or what he thinks he’s grinning about, but for the Commander in Chief of the United States armed forces to smile and giggle while discussing warfare of any form or magnitude is an insult — not just to the soldiers who followed his orders into battle, but also to basic decency and human morality. From his zany “those WMDs have to be around here somewhere” sketch to his shit-eating grin whilst comparing warfare to wacky-yet-delicious breakfast foods, this extends far beyond the necessary objective distance of a military leader and into the realms of madness.
