Mooch, the ornery boy, likes to let them go and watch Powder, the aging girl, twitch. Mooch knows Powder used to love to catch birds, but can’t anymore. The birds fly up onto the ledges below the uppermost of the wall of windows. The birds are scared, so they shit a lot. I cleaned last summer’s fear off the ledges and frames today. Among a lot of other cleanup stuff you probably do every month as a house seller.</p> I did a wall of ‘em today.

Mostly cooking and preparing food tomorrow. I’m making a black bean-mango salsa to go with the tequila-cured sockeye salmon and some King crab-avocado spread. And some other stuff. </p> <p>This party is sometimes a blowout. Then, Saturday, our 28th anniversary - dinner and a romantic movie.
