Ear candy served up by The Allman Brothers, Desdemona, with a side dish of eye candy from Claude Monet.
hi suzanne
Hey tex, how are you tonight?
crap
doing well suzanne. yourself?
Art critic or music critic?
good evening suzanne & folks
Hi Suze!
That is terrible, sorry. I’m on a computer at my in-laws, and can’t get my laptop to share a server. The hotel was great, and this keyboard is horrible. that said, HELLO everyone! And I have no wheel in my mouse… boo hoo.
New post about Bhutto and political courage:
http://texbetsy.headonradionet…..ot-afraid/
You can’t repeal technology. Once people know how to do something, like make gunpowder, the cat is out of the bag.
But (unrepealable) weapons technology makes ever more destructive capability available to ever more people. Ultimately, each human being will possess the technology to destroy the entire human race. What to do??
Ma Cheri! You’re back! 8-)
Hi Christine. Glad you can at least refresh and read.
Hey pups, did everyone get what they wanted from Santa. I see boosh and cheney did not get the handcuffing I was wishing for.
Did anyone read the David Swanson rant against Pelsi and Reid at After Downing Street. I just found it today. It is a thing of beauty.
Suzanne, I think Cheney wished for chaos in Pakistan. Bush just asked for a new coloring book.
Christine E, when I go down to my mom’s, my step-dad’s computer has some english/hungarian keyboard thingie that I have to switch otherwise my typing gets all funky.
I have a bug so I’m kinda slow tonight, folks. Let me apologize in advance for any mental screwups I may make.
Whoever Desdemona is, I’m sure it’s good for Republicans.
Hi, Suzanne!
Haven’t heard Desdemona in a while. Thanks, Suzanne.
I’m wandering back and forth – vacuuming walls and ceilings now. Our walls and ceiling are covered in cedar. Our big party of the year is tomorrow night, so every nook and cranny…. Checking e-mails for help on a slideshow/fundraiser I’m hosting next month at UAA for these amazing trekkers.
TSF!
Desdemona lyrics
way kewl, ET – they are amazing and I was so glad when they finally surfaced on their trek.
Tex and Suz.
this keyborad is like sponge and foam…just happy to be here tonight. We are now in PA again, with Mr.E’s family. Just left our darling Patty almost graduated from the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture (University of Delaware). So beautiful here.
Wiki has a lot of references for Desdemona
very nice!
they are amazing and I was so glad when they finally surfaced on their trek.
they are the total opposite of Chris McCandless – the guy in Into The Wild. They are absolutely focused, doing something no humans that we know of have ever done. And they’re normal people. Mostly…
I loved the Monet paintings accompanying the music in this video – a dark song seemed fitting tonight.
Hey Tex,
I grew up here, with my Dad the head of restoration at the Hagely Museum. The Delaware area and the Brandywine Valley are beautiful. How is the family?
Bhutto apparently thought the Pakistan Intelligence officer appointed to safeguard her security was actually the one intent on killing her. She complained that Brig. Gen. Ejaz Shah was actually plotting her death and would allow terrorists to approach her and attack her supporters.
Ejaz Shah was reportedly the ISI “handler” of OBL and the Taliban’s Mullah Omar back in the war period against the USSR (and perhaps later). He “created” the Pakistani political support groups that handled the Taliban. He protected several drug smugglers and dealers from prosecution while he was ostensibly serving as the top counter-narcotics officer. He was apparently also behind the Chief Justice who was recently sacked.

Reports suggest that the police originally set up check-points into the Bhutto rally but then quit those posts later in the day, allowing anyone to come into the event without examination.
Glad to see you all.
This song is one I haven’t heard, or at least I don’t remember it. Beautiful. The artwork, the longing in the singer’s voice, very powerful combination.
Not to toot my own horn (well maybe a little), but I toured with The Allman Bros. Band in the early 80’s…

That’s me on the left…
I’ve been away from the computer since yesterday evening. I heard about Bhutto’s assassination in a phone call from a friend this afternoon. What else have I missed?
Family is fine. Definitely all on vacation mode.
That’s way forking cool!
Ijaz Shah – whadda guy, eh?
So glad you asked my friend. You can see a full day’s news and blog posts and Reality Based News Feed.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Wow! That is cool! Like the Commitments?

Did you get the camera stuff worked out? That page help any?
More on the guy in charge of guarding Madame Bhutto:
Eyebrows were raised when Sheikh surrendered to an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) official, Brigadier Ejaz Shah, in Lahore and not to the police. Shah was known to be a protege of generals Musharraf and Aziz Khan.
Shah’s subsequent nomination as high commissioner to Australia was rejected by the Australian government. He is now Pakistan’s ambassador to Indonesia. What is interesting to note is that ambassadorial appointments are normally given in Pakistan to retired generals and not low-ranking ISI brigadiers.
It has now been reported by a respected Lahore-based Pakistani journalist, Amir Mir, continues Parthasarathi, that during his interrogation by US and Pakistani investigators, Sheikh revealed that he had been on the payroll of the Pakistani ISI and that the terrorist attacks on the Kashmir State Assembly building in October 2001 and the Indian parliament in December 2001 had the backing of the ISI.
Amir Mir has also confirmed that Sheikh transferred a sum of $100,000 that had been provided to him by then ISI chief General Mahmood Ahmed to Mohammad Atta – the leader of the hijackers involved in the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Good night my friends. Back tomorrow.
Just splashing lots of Love to my Firedog family …

Um … no, but let me explain … for some unexplained reason, there’s been lots of snow, which has opened vast reserves of exotic Scotches and Cocktails … we’re fighting it here so you don’t have to fight it there … *g*
I’ve just discovered that I have a son who can sing, at least he sounds good to me.
So here’s my son playing Guitar Hero (the video game) and singing “Roxanne” by the Police.
Whoa.
He wants a guitar, a real one.;)
Hey Dood, how have your holidays been so far?

hey selise – how are ya?
ET, is that why she was so distrustful of her security? I’ve only seen headlines and not really any coverage of today’s events.
How about a dollop of Haagen Dazs ? I can even flambee it ?
Whew, skated around the law again … *g*
petro – wish i could try your creations for real. my idea of a cocktail is either a vodka tonic or a shot of tequila (depending on the circumstances).
howdy suz, i’m good (’cept for the insomnia thing). computers all still working thanks to newt and i’m working on finishing up transferring 50 years oh home movies to DVD (they’d already been transferred to VHS) for my mom’s cousin.
how’s things shaken (haha) in CA?
His singing!
I am flipped on my days and nights, have a bug, its 38 and raining up here at the little cottage by the creek in the redwoods. I want snow. It was 27 up here last nite – i wish the cold and precipitation would sync and I would get some snow before I move. Haven’t had snow at a place I’ve lived in since my folks moved from VA to CA when I was two.
Nice pik Suz!!
1 tired Larue, gone gone gone . .
Nice to drift off with Greg’s voice . . . .
zzzzzzzzzzz
g’nite larue

I’m out … more snow to clear tomorrow … G’ nite all !
g’nite petro, thanks for the toddy
aw suz, here’s hoping you kick the bug soon and that you get a bit of snow to enjoy.
thanks selise. i’m much better than i was last nite
suzanne said “I want snow”
Here in NE KS, we have had several inches of snow on the ground for the last week, interspersed with some ice. They are predicting up to 4 inches tonite.
We still have dandelions in central Ohio.
My mom says the first time I saw snow, I ran outside buck nekkid and was playing in it. She further said she had to carry me back inside like a football with me kicking and screaming the entire way.
I was around 14 months at the time and have no recollection of that.
What an image!
I’m gonna have to draw that…;)
rut roh….
Immortalized in FaceBook!
Go Margot!
Hey, you know what it’s like to get a song stuck in your head?
Now I’ve got a 1950s mom tucking a screaming, nekkid baby under her arm in a snowstorm. I have GOT to get that out and into a drawing!!
to quote christine e
crap
on the other hand, my mother is probably cheering for margot here. i was quite a handful as a tyke and when my sister was born i did not improve.
Youtube is now officially blocked at work.
:(
Guess they want me working, or something.
Impeach
that is just forking wrong… did they block just the utube site or does the video at the top of the post not work either?
SWuzanne said “before I move…” Did it sell, dear? I hope, I hope, I hope.
not yet, ET, but the house goes back on the MLS on 1/6 – i took it off during the holidays to keep my sanity.
Done vacuuming the walls and ceilings. Mostly cooking and preparing food tomorrow. I’m making a black bean-mango salsa to go with the tequila-cured sockeye salmon and some King crab-avocado spread. And some other stuff.
This party is sometimes a blowout. Then, Saturday, our 28th anniversary – dinner and a romantic movie. If there IS a romantic movie out there.
(sigh) do you do windows?
I did a wall of ‘em today.
In the summer, the cats catch birds and bring them inside. Mooch, the ornery boy, likes to let them go and watch Powder, the aging girl, twitch. Mooch knows Powder used to love to catch birds, but can’t anymore. The birds fly up onto the ledges below the uppermost of the wall of windows. The birds are scared, so they shit a lot. I cleaned last summer’s fear off the ledges and frames today. Among a lot of other cleanup stuff you probably do every month as a house seller.
bailey leaves the field mice she catches as presents – luckily, she knows they are the kinda presents best leftoutsde
For a second, I thought you were talking about Harry and Nancy.
I dedicate this next song to Harry and Nancy.
LOL. Nope, We’ve got more than enough poor birds slow enough for the cats to become serial killers come May every year.
Listening to Serge Koussevitsky conduct the BBC Orchestra in 1933 in Sibelius’ 7th Symphony. The best winter music there is. The recording itself is another story…
ok pups, i’m headed off to bed. g’nite all (don’t leave just because i am) and see ya tomorrow nite
A fantastic post with a fantastic link to another fantastic post! Bhutto’s blood like so many patriot’s blood, is the cost for freedom.
CSN&Y Four Way Street
“Find the cost of freedom…buried in the ground, Mother earth will swallow you, lay your body down.”
Bennie Bhutto did just that. She laid it all on the line, unlike some of her scumbag politcal counterparts here in the USA who offered her as a sacrificial lamb for politcal gain. Protesters should be burning “shrubs” in protest. Burn a shrub, not Old Glory……….
They blocked the whole dang site! PLUS the embeds don’t work anymore…
Internet Nazi…
