Blue Texan, now that you mention the 2000 year old age of
Li`l Jesse, can you please tell me how anyone knows the age
when he was born? I really want to know, but since some man
wrote that same message long long ago, I just can not ask
him…Oh, and I do not read the bible because this is where

He’s not saying that global warming isn’t real; he’s saying that we should not let ourselves get stampeded. This is always good advice in any situation. Saying that he doesn’t believe in global warming is what is now called “spin”. When I was growing up in Kansas, we called it “lying”.

Clarity of expression does not seem to be a high Catholic priority. Perhaps it reads better in Latin?

Yeah, Benny has some consistency problems — though he’s also supposedly the first pope to speak up for animal rights (wtf?).

But it would be great to quote the above article to Hannity and say, “Do you agree with the Pope? Yes or no? Yes or no?! Answer the question or I’ll cut your mike.”

now when I read that I was surely disappointed because the pope embraces evolution, and as myself, he does not find any contradiction, that evolution can easily be described as god’s tool for creation, just as the son might be gods’ tool when he created the light

so finding out that he thought global warming was fear mongering was bothersome.

At the Republican CNN/YouTube debate in Iowa, Joseph from Dallas appeared on the screen, staring the candidates right in the eye. “How you answer this question will tell us everything we need to know about you,” he solemnly warned them. “Do you believe every word of this book? Specifically, this book that I am holding in my hand.” The book, of course, was the Bible.

What’s wrong with this picture? Yes, it brings religion front and center into the political arena. But so did the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and hundreds of other ministers of the Gospel. Without them there could have been no civil rights movement. So I doubt we want to say that it’s always wrong to mix faith and politics.
