The NYT article is a rambling mess o’ bullshite. Read it and you get dizzy. The title is too forgiving and it is factually incorrect. Romney does not “show a tendency to imprecision”. Romney is guilty of embellishment.

I think Romney is attempting to send a coded message to all us Boomers from the ’60s/’70s that he really is one of us and experienced life in those days. He’s telling us that he hallucinated these things so we have to be able to trust him as one of us.

Well, it is late in the race for Iowa and all the candidates are saying odd things, gibberish really. Hillary is saying she can avert war with Iran. Obama is saying vacuous nothings. Huckabee is saying he’s the chosen one. McCain is saying, “Hey, look at me. I’m not dead yet.” Thompson is saying, “ZZzzzzz” It’s an exciting time. Mistakes were made.

That article is by Michael Luo, who in his coverage of Mitt’s famous speech on faith and freedom, left out Mitt’s statement that he would appoint Muslims to the lower rungs of his administration.

In several FDL posts, Blue Texan was on Luo’s case about this omission, and even contacted him. (I also sent him and Clarke Hoyt and Bill Keller emails.) Blue Texan: Did you ever get any further clarification from him about this?
