WE are in Missouri and always spend the winter in Texas. This year I made my husband arrange for absentee ballots, so that we can vote in Bit Tuesday. I still don’t know who I am going to vote for. My hubby will probably vote for Obama. He believes that Hillary would make the best president of the bunch (including the Republicans), but thinks she can’t get elected. I love Edwards but think he can’t get the nomination. So we will both wait until the last minute to decide.

Haven’t really seen any big campaigning in Missouri. Some Republicans have been here.

Are the candidates concentrating on Iowa to the detriment of the front-loaded schedule?

I think not. I think they’re concentrating on Iowa because they know that the schedule is so front-loaded that if you don’t get a victory early, you will be crushed by all the momentum of the winner. There’s not enough time to recover. So I actually think the early primary schedule has empowered Iowa and New Hampshire even MORE. That’s borne out by the fact that there hasn’t been one ad in California yet, almost no mailers, and very few campaign offices (Obama just put the first one in Sacramento today), etc. The Edwards campaign is asking Southern California supporters to go to Nevada to help out. I think the campaigns are playing it the only way it can be played.

Which is why we need a radical reform of the primary system, because 100,000 people in Iowa (no slam on them, but that’s .0003 of the population) will be essentially determining the Democratic nominee for leader of the free world.

I will be going to the MN caucus on Feb 5th. Will be voting for Edwards. I was at a luncheon of several women ( high school classmates) who all said they are voting for Edwards. I was surprised - so many are politically active.

Go Minnesotans!

Wow! Great idea! Some of us serve up coffee in the morning, and this would be helpful. Thanks!

I’ve noticed that I’m getting less political junk mail. Which is a good thing, and saves the trees. My e-mail box, however, is INUNDATED daily. How do we recycle useless pixels?
