Just my opinion–most GOP voters have gotta be horrified by the Huckster’s surge. They pandered to the religious right to grab a few more votes, and now it’s coming back to bite them in the ass. Nominate the Huckster!

Once I got old enough to actually attempt to think, I realized that the King James translation has to be filled with myriads of errors, if for no other reason than a lack of access to original source documents plus folks using translations of translations in languages NOT their own that would have evolved over the 1600 years since first written.

And according to Gnosticism, God wasn’t really God — he just thought he was — actually his mother was the real God. The spoiled brat “God” was called the Demiurge — equivalent to the OT God, Yahweh.

The Demiurge was the Material “Creator” God…before that spirit was unified and one. By creating separate physical and biological bodies the Demiurge imprisoned spirit and disunified it. Many Gnostics believed in rejection of the physical nature, becoming extreme aesthetics even castrating or sterilizing themselves to prevent the creation of more “trapped spirits”. Other gnostics became Dionysian, as a way to mock the Demiurge. Gnostic Christians believed that Jesus had somehow latched onto the secret of freeing the Universal spirit to reunite with Sophia…the original wisdom Goddess.

Some of them would be surprised to know that the more recent versions are actually based on more recently discovered ancient manuscripts that go back much earlier than those used in the King James Version.

I figure if God doesn’t believe in a higher god, then he’s an atheist. And if he wants us to be like him, he’d want us to be atheists too.

My view is that God was a polytheist. “Have no OTHER God before me.” “I am a jealous God”. ” Adam and Eve trying to “become as one of US!” JHVH was pretty clearly the Abrahamic Familial Clan God (”The God of the Jews”…don’t go messin’ with those other Gods and Goddesses out there)…and the Archeology indicates that he had a female consort up until about 400 AD.
