I’m sure you meant to say that there should be thorough investigations, and that if there is reasonable cause to believe that crimes were committed and that every element of the offense can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, indictments should be handed up and the defendants given fair trials, and punished only if they are convicted. I’m sure you didn’t mean to say that anyone should be summarily thrown in jail, in derogation of their Constitutional rights. After all, we all believe in the rule of law here.

Actually, the shocker in that list of those who wrote letters of support is John Polanyi, who is truly one of the good guys. He won the Nobel for chemistry, yes, but he is a long-time serious campaigner for peace, as are all the other members of his terrific family.

Lots of laughter up here in Canada because Black wants to serve his time in Canada after renouncing his citizenship here so he could get some poncy British title. I’m sure Chretien is laughing his butt off.

Here is the response I just received from Harry Reid after I responded by e-mail to an e-mail he sent me praising himself and stating the numerous misspokes (lies) by Bush. So, I used this opportunity to call for impeachment. As you can read for yourself, Reid’s hands are tied (darn) since impeachment starts in the House (none of his business). So he sits on his hands and keeps his mouth shut.

Reid’s response:

Black cannot serve his time in Canada if he is no longer a citizen of Canada. If Black is a US Citizen only and not a Canadian citizen, he must serve his sentence in the US. If Black kept his Canadian Citizenship and held dual citizenship (likely) in the US and Canada, then he may be able to do his time in Canada. What does this say about prison life in the US compared with Canada?
