Marcy Wheeler now has her own blog, emptywheel, and is the newest member of the FDL blogging community. She’s opening the doors with a bang, reporting that Henry Waxman is asking Patrick Fitzgerald for documents relevant to the outing of Valerie Plame — and he wants Mukasey’s help in getting them.
It looks like Waxman took the advice of looseheadprop and was very specific about making his request for "documents relating to any interviews outside the presence of the grand jury" (which include Bush, Cheney, Card, Hadley, Rove, Bartlett and McClellan).
Please go visit Marcy’s new blog, say "hi" and get the lowdown.

Congrats on the new design…
The Decider holds a newsie tomorrow…
If the Dems don’t give me my Irack money, I’m laying off civilians
at Army Bases, and the IRS will delay refund checks…

What does this mean for thenexthurrah.com?
I swear Waxman didn’t hold this just so Marcy could have a good first day.
I like the accompanying photo with the byline…
Yikes!
I just noticed the blogroll.
Looks like it changes every time you refresh.
I noticed that yesterday.
Better late than never. At the rate things have been moving, Waxman will be investigating the ex-administration. Can Bush claim executive privledge once he’s out of office?
The new design is still under construction, gang. Give it a little time and patience…
I only had a couple of minutes yesterday, trying to figure out how to get on the site was some.
I have to register twice.
Once for the new look and once for wordpress to get on.
Still kicking the tires and looking for frame damage, the outside is plenty shiny.
Well looky there! I had only noticed that it was a much, much smaller blogroll. I love that it is different each time!
Can’t wait to see the FBI’s notes. I’m guessing the doodles on Rove are along the lines of, “Can you believe the nerve of this lying shitbag?”
Hooray for Marcy! Her and FDL’s coverage of Plamegate was like taking a graduate seminar in civics.
I have to take back that better late than never comment. He made the request 5 months ago. It appears to me that he is testing our new AG on his independence.
Congrats Jane! Emptywheel!
You are just THE BEST!
Yowzahs! You gotta love Henry Waxman! Not a guy you’d want on your tail.
By the way, like the new digs, Jane.
I notice there have not been many EPU’ed comments so in the spirit of reviving them here is mine from the last thread.
A very long time ago, I think it was even before Jane moved to WordPress, she and some other bloggers got together with Bill Clinton. The idea was as I saw it at the time to let Big Dawg test the net waters for Hillary and use his personality to smooth the way for her. The meeting was if I remember correctly set up by Peter Daou who was a blogger before going to work for Hillary and who had written some good stuff about the use and creation of narratives in politics. This was as far as I know way before anyone else thought to do this.
The problem was nothing came of it. There was no follow up, no further meetings, no participation by Hillary. It was in other words a major blown opportunity. At the time, a lot of people would have looked forward I think to working with Hillary if she had been willing to work with us. She wasn’t.
Despite the triangulation schtick, Hillary is pretty rigid in her thinking. Just as she could never apologize for her Iraq vote because in her mind this would have been an admission not of a mistake but a show of weakness so she never could wrap her mind around her relations with the blogosphere as anything other than a top down one best handled by underlings.
The recent attack on Obama is another case in point. It is the so predictable reaction of a career pol feeling some heat from her in party competition. Obama and Edwards, of course, have been doing much the same except they aimed their barbs at her policies not her character.
I get this feeling that people tend to look at candidates as they wish they were and read into them qualities that they wish they had. I think Hillary has in particular benefited from this but perhaps not so much anymore. She is at heart an Establishment pol, authoritarian, do as I say, I’m the boss, I don’t apologize, I will lash out at those who disagree with me. This is how she acts. This is how she will act as President.
Question:
I see digby is in the blue america link, along with Howie and crooks and liars…
I wasn’t registering a complaint, just an observation. FWIW, I like the feature, it keeps the page from being really tall.
Very nice…perhaps we will learn what Cheney and Dubya told Fitz. Admittedly, this wasn’t under oath…but lying to a US Assistant Attorney General holding the authority of the Attorney General is PERJURY. And this could also be very helpful in the Wilson’s civil case.
I can’t see it doing any good to the Republican party.
And somehow I don’t think that this threat makes any sense at all, either. Bush seems to forget that when Clinton furloughed the government it was because Congress had NOT sent him legislation. In this case Congress has repeatedly sent him legislation which HE HAS VETOED. Furthermore, in what way does the failure to send Bush a HIGHER and more massive authorization bill result in his failing to send refund checks back.
I he saying that he is taking the money from those refund checks for use in Iraq? Is he making unauthorized expenditures and increasing taxes without proper Congressional action?
This sounds VERY, VERY much an UNCONSTITUTIONAL usurpation of the powers of Congress.
But I do think he loves her…just like the rest of us. :)
Hi all. Using firefox cuz I can’t scroll in IE. Works better.
test – “f” thing gone?
Didn’t Hillary actually come on FDL and talk and take questions about Education? Or was I dreaming?
(which include Bush, Cheney, Card, Hadley, Rove, Bartlett and McClellan).
Lil’ Scotty’s been awfully quiet since his bombshell moment a couple of weeks ago…hmmmmmmm.
Yeah she came.
Congrats to Marcy! Another alumnus of FDL is staking a claim in the internets!
The Waxman request certainly can’t be blocked by Bush arguing “Executive Privilege”. After all his discussion with Fitz wouldn’t involve receiving advice regarding Presidential policies. Fitzwas questioning him. But perhaps part of the deal was that Bush’s comments would not be released to Congress, either in a “Report” or by subpoena.
I remember Hillary did about a half hour driveby here, when she spouted a few talking points, thanked us, and headed out.
Yeah. Picture him bound and gagged in a closet somewhere.
Ahem.
Congrats to Marcy! Another
alumnusalumna of FDL is staking a claim in the internets!Linky doesn’t work. I can’t find the article. It sounds bad!
Wow!!! Jane and Marcy…You are full of wonderful surprises!
Happy day.
OMG…check this “Mastercard” ad….Heh:

This post is appropriate for the picture of the screws that Christy often used. You could just imagine Kkkkarl logging on to see what the opposition was saying, seeing the graphic, and muttering “damn them. I’ll get them all, and their little dog too…”
fuckin’ yeah!
Why?
She was here for a half hour on a fairly specific subject and as you say gone. This was more than a year after the meeting with Bill IIRC. It re-inforces my point. This was Hillary’s idea of reaching out to the netroots and was an eloquent example of how she doesn’t understand the blogosphere or us.
“Because of the implications of Mr. McClellan’s assertions, I am asking for your personal
assistance in obtaining the documents being withheld by the White House. These documents are
directly relevant to the Committee’s investigation, and they have been determined by Mr.
Fitzgerald to be appropriate for release to the Committee. I believe they should be provided to
the Committee without any additional delay and without redactions or other limitations dictated
by the White House.“
Or, Attorney General Mukasey, are you prepared to resign as you testified under oath during your confirmation????
Remarkable to see what’s happened with the FDL site in two years. Confirms my belief that ‘Content is King/Queen’. This new site puts a lift in my spirits. It’s wonderful!

Well, for one because it means they did not purge Glenn Greenwald like it looked like the first day.
It also makes it shorter and easier to look through.
Finally, it encourages me to take a look at places I have always passed over. Usually on a blogroll a place I know catches my eye and I link over, but I have found some of the best blogs by trying something new on a blogroll. Having my old favorites not always there encourages this…

This was Hillary’s idea of reaching out to the netroots and was an eloquent example of how she doesn’t understand the blogosphere or us.
Couple that with Bill’s statement of a couple weeks ago that he was “protecting” Bush (and his war) from “The Left,” (you know, us) and I see no reason we should give a rat’s ass about these people.

They are circling the wagons…
I don’t think they are planning to leave office, I really don’t.
Well, in a way that’s a good thing. It means they’re running out of henchmen willing to do whatever it takes to do the chimporer’s bidding.
Drummed out of office? Resigned in disgrace? Great! We got a job for you!
Jane, Kudos to you and the FDL Tech team that ironed out the problems causing slow performance. The sight look great. Thanks.
This is what I suspect too LS. There’s going to be some big emergency, and for our own darn good, the chimp is going to have to make the tough decision to suspend elections and declare martial law.
Short version: alum is gender neutral.
There’s a grammarian, Patricia T O’connor (Woe Is I), who appears on Leonard Lopate’s show on wnyc once/month, who tends to make fun a stickler like me. She’s the one who convinced me that a preposition is a fine word to end a sentence with. IIRC, the rule that says it’s inappropriate comes from some other language (French? or is that the one about how it’s OK to split infinitives) and is not applicable to English.
My 7th & 8th grade English teacher, Miss Webster (I didn’t make that up) is spinning in her grave.
Who is it who calls it neocon welfare?
The Beltwayers are confused by the bloggers. At first it was a little thing, and nothing to bother with. But as the people have become increasingly disenchanted with the MSM they’ve discovered the net and the blogs and we be growing very fast.
Smart people are no bothering with the MSM. Why bother? Most of the bobbleheads are proven stenographers as JokeLine recently proved again.
And the net is terribly democratic and that skeers them cos they can’t control a real democracy and there are no over paid lobbyists to waltz with. And though the net doesn’t have real on the street reporters (yet) we fact check like there’s no tomorrow. Now that can smart the typical lying beltwayer.
Can’t pay lip service to the blogs. That doesn’t impress anyone here. We want the real deal.
If they don’t take the net away this could get interesting.
Then again, with the exception of Christopher Dodd, who was absolutely great in his visit, who amongst the candidates has been willing to expose themselves to an open-ended Q&A on a non-campaign affiliated blog? I don’t recall Edwards or Obama doing so?
And did any other candidate actually send a major advisor to try and work something out?
It seems that there’s a bit of “attacking Clinton” for actually making some initial effort. If the other candidates didn’t even bother it would suggest that they were even LESS INTERESTED…or perhaps one could argue they were astute enough to realize just how problematic it might be for controlling their image. Bloggers are likely to come into the interview with a lot more informed and challenging questions than Tweety or Russert. Perhaps Obama and Edwards knew enough already that they didn’t want such an open, potentially image-destroying, format.
Here’s the linky. Scroll down to “Bill Clinton’s War Against Norbziness”…
(CNN) — Former President Clinton has revealed that he continues to support President Bush’s decision to go to war in Iraq but chastised the administration over the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison.
“I have repeatedly defended President Bush against the left on Iraq, even though I think he should have waited until the U.N. inspections were over,” Clinton said in a Time magazine interview that will hit newsstands Monday, a day before the publication of his book “My Life.”
I don’t doubt that was the plan prior to the 06 elections which caught them completely by surprise. I think they’re trying to move forward with it, but without Republican control of Congress, it’s not so likely a success anymore, hence all the focus on “legacy”.
(fingers crossed xxxxxx)
She spinning in her grave sort of.
Lenny is a hoot since his days at WBAI
I think that they will leave office, but the incoming administration will let it all fade into oblivion in the interest of moving forward.
This simply ain’t gonna happen.
I used to habitually jump into comment-mode, then make my way through the blog post by post by using the {previous} | Home | [{next}] line near the top of the page, seeing all the text and getting the flavor of the comments as I went.
I also used to be able to see whether there was a new thread up by checking that same navigation line.
My opinion is that every site needs some form of navigation bar, and if one is here, I haven’t found it. But I said this Saturday, and so I shall now be quiet.
I think TPM has reporters on the ground.
Breaking News 12:06 PM ET: U.S. Report Says Iran Halted Nuclear Weapons Program in 2003
on NYT website. Doesn’t seem to link to anything.
Alum is just a shortened form that cleverly avoids the problem. Linguistics is made up of prescriptivists who try to tell people that languages have rules that must be obeyed and descriptivists who accept that language rules are not written in stone, describe what is actually there, and make fun of prescriptivists.
I’m still getting used to this and I’m still disappointed at the little amount of time Steve Van Zandt was given on Stephanopolous’s show. But I’ll definitely keep comming back for the content no matter how
uglydifferent the setup is. (Kidding with that.) This is good, not great news. I mean it’s a wait and see thing. I, too, had said they should ask for these interviews. Fitz may say that they were part of the investigation so he won’t turn them over. But as I recall, he seemed to have left a little crack open when he refused the prior requset for stuff. He just wants to prosecute bad guys in Chicago. But he took the job in DC, so……. We’ll see.See.. it’s already happening.
And it will only get better and better.
Once people accept the idea of the value of the blogs and pony up some jobs will be created and off we go.
I used to spend $1 for the NY Times… Imagine if we all gave FDL half that? We could get some real people pounding the pavements digging up dish. it’s gonna happen. Bye Bye NY Times.
Thanks. What a jerk.
I have been a constant “lurker” on the site since the days of the Libby trial. I got a chance to attend a couple of the trial days, including the closing arguments day, and got “hooked” on FDL during the trial. Now “de-lurked” I can’t say how much I appreciate this site and all the work and excellent reporting that goes into making it possible. I’m also so happy to see Waxman finally ask Fitz for the documents. Oh, and I like the re-work of FDL!
English is a particularly vexing hybrid language, with rules and conventions taken for two pretty distinct Families of Indo-European, Germanic (Old English) and Romance (Norman French)…with some Celtic, Danish, Saxon, and a few others thrown in for good measure. And that was all before English began to spread and incorporate the words and usages of other non-European cultures. Standard usage in particular contexts is the only good rule for “English as she is spoken”. How I speak while watching a punk show in a club will be different from how I speak while presenting a Scientific paper.
Exactly.
Howard Dean made them nervous, but Ned Lamont scared the daylights out of them. I think Dodd is more comfortable with us because of Ned.
The only other to stop by besides Hillary was Elizabeth Edwards IIRC.
Is this in the comments already? At tpmmuckraker.com:
They just stonewall, and there’s not a d*mn thing anybody can do about it. Or is WILLING to do about it.
This is huge, and the intelligence report is going to Congress today they said. The tides are turning….that’s why they are circling the wagons…
BTW, Imus called Bush a war criminal this morning.
Prescriptivists are great for making fun of.
At the time, most of the candidates weren’t candidates. I agree that the other candidates should make more of an effort. Edwards kind of got toasted though about a couple of bloggers working for him and his inept dealing with the situation. Obama or his campaign did a big push on either Myspace or facebook. I have seen nothing comparable from Hillary.

Do you have a link to any other info? Is this the NIE on Iran that Cheney has been unwilling to release?
Good. It’s probably not a popular opinion here but I like Imus and thought he got a raw deal. But he laughed all the way to the bank, so good for him. I sorta grew up with the guy and remember when he used to do broadcasts from the mezzanine of Port Authority Bus Terminal. I would watch him on my way to school when I had to take the bus when PATH was on strike.

FWIW I’m going to forward your comment to the Edwards campaign. I gave them money…maybe they’ll listen. Not likely, but nothing to lose either.

BTW, Imus called Bush a war criminal this morning.
Watch Imus now try to overcompensate for all his sins of the past…
It was on CNN, and I haven’t checked their site yet, I will now. It’s breaking, and it probably is from the part of the NIE that was withheld, I’m guessing.

Marcy’s site design looks great, BTW. Hope there’ll be prominent linkage. Also, I usually use the blogroll to open favorite sites in a new window. Can’t do it this way. I prefer the long version. Just throwing in my 2cents.
OTOH, I don’t care. The expansion and design in not just great, it’s a sign of growth. Besides, this is the home of some of my bff’s and I’m just happy they’re still here. :)

U.S. Says Iran Ended Nuclear Arms Work
Darth Cheney is probably smashing chairs as we speak.
This sucks soooooo bad. One thing that concerns me is the boy who cried wolf situation. I mean there are terrorists out there an’ stuff. But if there ever is a real threat in the next few months, nobody’s gonna believe these clowns. Probably won’t happen but I’m just saying this is such an irresponsible position to have gotten us into. BTW, just wonderin’, do they still have those color coded terror alerts??
If Alumnus = alumna
Then shouldn’t
genus= gena (not genera)
Octopus = octopa (not octopi)
Phallus = phalla
Circus = Circa
???
Re Iran in the NYT, wonder how many years some editor has been sitting on that story.
I’m waiting to find out if it was an offical release or whether someone is trying to spike Cheney’s guns.
Logically, no? English is stupid.
I had this dream, that Henry Waxman worked dilligently and patiently in his investigations of the Unitary. He held hearings that seemed to hint occasionally at where he was going, even as the Unitary’s term expired.
Then, in about February of 2009, he sends a large delivery truck of everything he found to the freshly swept and disinfected DOJ.
Some dreams ya just don’t wanna wake up from…
Oh, I see what happens. It makes your comments come up twice. Won’t do that no mo’.
Hi Jane and Pups.
Took me awhile even to figure out how to register – duh – but I think I love the new format. I’m looking fwd to paddling around and checking out the shoreline.
Thanks to all who put/are putting so much work into upgrading FDL perks.
Woo Hoo! says she, cautiously… ;->
p.s., Fitz for AG!!!?!
p.p.s., Can anyone tell me if I should expect problems or good vibes, &/or can find hints on how to avoid former & capitalize on latter, using a Vista Windows operating system at the Lake? (thanx to some guy in a sled, trying to cram such down our chimney at the moment.)
Oh yes! This’ll bust the whole thing wide open. Looks like some spooks grew some balls.
I’ve been under the impression for years that the spooks are worthless, always give false info. But after I saw how Cheney manipulated the system, I kept my eyes open for prior examples of it. Guess what? Reagan on Soviet military, to name one of the many I’ve come across subsequently.
So I’ve changed my mind. Spooks aren’t inherently inaccurate. Sometimes they get it and sometines they don’t. But the biggest “errors” seem to be those deliberately perpetrated by policy makers, who then get the double benefit of scapgoating the spooks.
Took me a long time to learn this.
I think you’re getting your genders & your plurals confused.
English is still stoopid.
English is chaotic compared with romance languages, and so is German.
See, the CIA has all people that hate this administration so it’s their fault. This should never have become public, doncha know. Damn leakers should all go to jail.

Throw in some eubonics for some real fun.
And the problem with that is…?

yeah, whole list needs work.
Speaking of which, does anyone else have trubble using “Preview”? I can’t get it to work, so-as to avoid the inevitable bobbles…
That sounds pretty- romance language. They’re stupider. ’cause I don’t know any of ‘em.
Me da man? bwahahahaha…
Under Jane Harmon’s new legislation, the leakers could be declared terrorists by the new House Unamerican Activities Committee. Dirty commies, er, terrorists.
Then we have the f. pl: alumnae
English is also chaotic because it has stolen words, tenses, usage, and just about everything else from other languages
OT, but scary.
Us says it has the right to kidnap british citizen if they are wanted for any crime.

A revolt by the intel agencies? Maybe the planning and run up to the Iranian War got to the point where it scared them shitless and they had to do something.
Romance languages: derived fom Latin: French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese…
What surprises me most about the new NIE is that I thought the CIA was scrubbed of all analysts who wouldn’t go along with the program. Wasn’t that Goss’s whole raison d’etre?
Eubonics? Is that the good plague?
Yep again. You’re da man…
Except the “boy” was trying to get everyone out to kill wolves that weren’t molesting anyone. This is almost exactly analogous to Iraq. And it seems to have led to pretty aggressive statements by the Democratic candidates as well as the US blocking negotiations with Iran by the Europeans by making the situation more dangerous that it really has been.
I wonder if the NIE was only partially presented to the Senate and House Intelligence Committees? If so perhaps they were mislead, but we should try to find out if Edwards and Clinton were privy to this NIE or if, like the NIE on WMD in Iraq, they didn’t even bother to read it.
LOL. But seriously, I find that working with my kids it’s like you try to come up with a rule and they take your word for it and apply it to something to which it doesn’t apply to and then you have to say “Um, that’s an exception.” And this happens all the time. You just wanna say screw it, there are no rules. Poor kids. They don’t make ‘em just memorize stuff enough anymore.
Eubonics: African-American English. Shorter: ghetto-speak…
For poor spellers, German is the easiest, no silent vowels.

Somehow the link button did’nt work.
Right. Like romance. Rome. I dig. I still think it sounds pretty.
Ooops, actually those are different versions of Latin plurals…not gender suffixes. My boo-boo!
That’s funny.
Oh sure, but how about the silent consonants and shifting consonant values?
Hey egregious, dearie. (I just found out she was a girl, so I figured I’d do that this once.) But yeah, that’s true. LHP had an excellent – and to me, frightening – post last night.
How’s that? I would think Cheney would be the one threatening force or violence in order to coerce US political policy. He’s threatening (falsely) that Iran is on the verge of obtaining nuclear weapons…when in fact, they haven’t even done anything to further their general nuclear program for quite some time.
Can’t get the blockquote gizmo to work right.
Pass me that hammer an’ I’ll give it a slight adjustment.
I hate it when a joke falls apart.
I thought Ebonics was the dialect: a contraction of ebony and phonics. Eubonics on the other hand appears to be the prefix “eu” meaning “good” on the root “bonic”, which as far as I know has no meaning but is part of “bubonic” – thus “the good plague”.
I get this at home too when I try to make jokes.
Here’s Hadley’s response to new NIE. Seems awfully benign. Wonder what Cheney’s response will be.
In French, the masculine forms mostly/if not usually correspond to hard things, like le mur for wall; and the feminine forms correspond to soft things, like la rose for rose…
I thought the plague thing was funny.
Ebonics…Eubonics is the sound out of Eubie Blake’s trumpet.
New thread upstairs, I ain’t even going to try and make a link, yer on yer own here.
Thanks, dearie :)
Loosehead’s scary post. Y’all go read.
French is alos sexist: la femme for woman and wife; whereas, l’homme for man, and le mari for husband…
Thank you.

Oooh…I have been waiting for this day for a very long time.
Both about Waxman — since March! — and about Marcy, since for a while now.
Groovy!
Frightening. Frightening. It ealty was that someone couyld write a statute – presumambly with staff assistance with definitions so nebulous they they could criminalize so many things.
Now how do I get to the new tread? Do I have to go to the homepage?
Shoot! Just got it. via huge British-English dict., which hadn’t a clue, then Wiki, who inadvertently redirected me to the original intent of your joke.
Ebonics vs Eubonics.

Is it a pain or a glorious thing to behold? pretty please?
I think FDL has reporters on the ground too. Or in the Prettyman Courthouse, or in the committee meetings.

Yes but you can cheat and go to the bottom of the page here and click on ” Log in.”
It takes you there
What a load of spinned feces!
They stopped in 2003 and NOT as a result of international pressure…but due to internal financial issues. The report has nothing to say about their “ability to restart it”. f they had the capacity to do so the sanctions would have FAILED, not succeeded. The report indicates that the sanctions were largely irrelevant either way.
That’s why he has been threatening the use of force? Saying that the situation is on the verge of WWIII and that Russia and China have been actually encouraging the movement towards that result? And what about all these assertions that Iran has been receiving nuclear weapons technology from North Korea and then passing it on to Syria? The NIE blows apart all these claims and shows, without any doubt that Bush’s policy was incorrect.
In addition, does anyone recall Bush ever offering Iran cold-water nuclear reactors? I don’t?But maybe he has been very quiet about it…though he has screamed about Russia doing something similar. THAT would serve Iranian Interests and would be in conformity with the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
It’s the US that has been the belligerent in this situation, and once again, much like Iraq, the victim has been telling the truth. And even though Iran hasn’t been doing anything at all for nearly 5 years on nuclear weapons Bush still wants to impose even more sanctions and restrictions on them and blame THEM for NOT negotiating in good faith. Just like in Iraq, they can’t STOP something that hasn’t been occurring for half a decade.

Hello hugh,
Very insightful observations. You’re obviously intelligent and informed as well as observant. I agree with you regarding Ms. Clinton and her husband as well of course. He was the master of giving the impression that he was doing one thing while adroitly and subtly doing another . . . and the amazing thing is that through his slight of hand he magically created an illusion that has survived his obvious shortcomings. He’s still the darling of the democrats or so the spin goes . . .
Here’s my impression . . . we can’t solve this political conundrum politically. It recalls to mind the Einstein quote that you can’t solve the problem with the consciousness that created it. It strikes me that there was real “group” genius in the creation of the Constitution . . . they were able to take previous thinking and create a leap in consciousness based on historical perception. For its flaws the Constitution has survived, even though it has been assailed through the years . . . in part because of the genius of its conception and in part because of the faith of the people of this country. So, it seems to me that to really deal with this crisis of faith, it is necessary to recreate a situation whereby we look at the whole process and synthesis a new order of consciousness. As long as we accept the parameters of the problem in terms of the core consciousness that we the people have developed through these several hundred years we will continue to be bound by those parameters. It is obvious that “it” is no longer working . . . yet there is no movement toward the resolution of consciousness that would move us forward. Perhaps there is a way that the Internet can serve that purpose . . . and certainly this site is the beginning of what could become (and perhaps already has) a very meaningful dialogue.
Appreciate your contribution . . .

Just how is it that B*$h can keep a public prosecutor from talking about a case that has already been to trial, gotten a conviction and been simply washed away by a 2 bit dictator? Granted, he thinks he can do anything, but just what is it that
President Cheney,VICE-President Cheney, The Dick doesn’t want to come out that isn’t already pretty much common knowledge? If he can’t make peace with Hillary’s camp, then how is he going to end the nasty partisanship when Republicans attack?
His continual naivete surprises me. How could he ever claim he can end the partisanship and work with Republicans? Doesn’t he realize the hard-core Repubs are so nasty that even Chuck Hagel (R-Neb) is running away from them?
Even the softie Henry Hyde was completely hypocritical liar when he said that going after Bill Clinton wasn’t particularly political. Want to bet Obama would buy into that lie and claim he could have ‘worked with’ Hyde?
Hillary is entirely cynical and manipulative and Obama is entirely naive and error-prone. What a pair.
I’m going to skip that garbage and vote for Edwards.
Hiya, everyone. Took me a few days to get registered, and I’m not used to those little Huffingtonpost pix of Jane everywhere — will we never see the dogs again?
Re: Plame and Fitzmas: better late than never, I suppose, but public discourse is shot to hell in the meantime.
Apropos of nothing and total change of topic: is the story about the Bush family buying property in Paraguay just a big ol’ urban legend? I keep trying to find any reputable source for this.
